So a lot of the best solo pvp'ers get most of their kills in inties? Is that the way to go to get good solo pvp?

Flying frig,intys and Afs are the easiest way to get quick fights. They allow you to move into enemy controlled space quickly and take care of business.
And they dont sting as much when you lose them.

Best interceptor pilot hands down in my opinion is Escador from Euphoria Released. Never have I seen so many kill mails posted in an alliance chat over the course of a day from one person.....and he does it on a regular basis. Drunkenone is also an exceptional pilot, i can base that on his videos and on having flown with him ages ago back in teh UFS/DSMA days.

For solo PVPing, an inty/assault frig is good because they are basically the fastest combat ships to move around on instas. This means that:
1) You can go a long way into enemy territory in a very short period of time.
2) You are very hard to catch, if being chased.
This essentially means you can run around in the middle of an enemy's home system and pick the fights that suit you, run from the ones that don't. If they chase you, you are hard to catch and can disappear quite quickly.

Yes now serious answer have to go with escador as well, simply amazing what he can do in an interceptor, yes eh loses his fair share of ships but the amount he kills before he does is absolutely amazing.

On the rightis listed out top "final" blow killers.
I think the strongest PvPer we have is KIAGarpy, with 30 million skill points, and a hell of a lot of experience, he is certainly a name to worry about.
Rodge and Tjakka are also top PvP pilots, Rodge is especially lethal in frigates, as is his alt character KIAGumpy.
KIA has its fair share of 1v1 or small engagement specialists, but its in small fleets i think a corp should really be judged.

H-Zub (Cult of Cthulhu previously The Captain Morgan Society) is an awesome solo pvper. I doubt if there were many (if any) better Crow pilots in Eve before the missile nerf. He is always prepared to fight 1 v 1. Unfortunately a lot of potential opponents are only prepared to fight him if they outnumber or massively outgun him.

Farjung [FRICK] - Most scary pilot in the MC, for a lot of reasons. He can find your safespot and kill you in minutes. He can go against insane odds alone and live. Does amazing things in Gal ships, except for the Taranis which he should not be allowed anywhere near. Ever. I'm serious. He should be banned from that ship, m'kay?
Also a bit funny because he's so damn polite and relaxed when you speak with him. You'd never guess he's 20km from a safespotted enemy fleet. Many an MC victory has been preceeded by these words, "Okay, guys, I've got them."

The other is dalman, although it was more of a gank
