I have to second Dalman re Squirrel.
This kid (my rl son) was amazing.
We played on a LAN with him in another room and the sound effects of his battles would often cause me to warp to ss and go to see wtf was going on.
He would often fly into CA land alone to hunt and have fights with any numbers of CA sqns.
I witnessed many of his fights in his close range Mega vs 2-6 CA bs and come out with a number of them in flames and he would just continue to hunt for more, when they went to ss.
He had an unreal ability to predict what they would do and where they would warp to...
He would warp into a group of bs, destroy 1, the others would scatter and warp out and he would know where to warp to to find them and hunt down each one...it was unreal.
I would often hear him complain that he had found some enemy...but that it was only one or two.
When he and Digiblast used to hunt together it was a very very efective team.
He still watches over my shoulder sometimes when I fight but his reactions, finger speed and anticipation is so far beyond mine it is embarrasing....lol.

I take it he isn't playing anymore.
Trakh, that was a very long time ago; Squirrel was in Solar Wind corp in SA. Very early in the SA-CA conflict he went in solo in Curse in a blasterthron and scored a very good killratio. Remember how he did a 1vs1 against one of the top RUS pilots 2 times in one day and won both (vs Scorpion and Apoc) for example. His combat results was kinda one of the reasons I picked Gallente as my 2:nd race to train. Although main reason was my Caldari ships had a small hybrid bonus at that time, so hybrid turrets fitted best for me... Drink up, shoot in. Let the beating begin. Distributor of pain. Your loss becomes my gain...

That Digiblast & Squirrel duo was a strange and lethal one, everytime Sq was leading Digi would sweat about loosing his ship and everytime Digi was leading Sq would sweat.
I still hear stories from SA/CA veterans about how Digi held HLW hostage on his own, impressive stuff.
And thank you Trakh, but I'm not worthy of this thread as I'm not really a solo PvPer, if it wasn't for my corp mates I probably wouldn't PvP half as much as I do.
As for my nominations: Zeal dragon Digblast Squirrel Strategos (meh... it's just Isk) Styx Rasatan
Can't really comment on others as these are the only ones I have witnessed solo and come out on top, or shown no fear despite the odds.

Uses Inty's - BS's all at high lvl. So in terms of the best PvP'er, as a overall thing, has to be Marko (in my experience).
Escador is also a good Inty pilot (not sure what sort of gunnery skills he has tho).
Eyeshadow seem's to be lord of the HAC, fantastic kill ratio, and against good pilots of all forms too. Likewise with Boldyn.
Overall tho for moi, tis Marko. He's who I respect the most and sincerely hope I dont come across the bugger If I'm a target heh

Id say svetlanna for solo kills and pvp in general not a lot of people know her but she is pretty damn efficient at wracking up kill mails. Back in the good old days of SGE u would prob see or here about 10 killmails a day from her.

No, he came up with no mwd frig for added punch. Interceptors have been plated since they were introduced and especially claws, that makes it what, 18 months.

Hmm...alrighty. Question is, were the battleships he took down ones with ratting setups or PvP setups? If the former, that meets what I've seen from him...but if the latter, then hats off to him.

Ha! I wish... I mostly half-ass it. Hehe
Thing is that during the "GNW" as some ppl want to call it.. He killed alot of battleships specifically setup to kill cruisers and frigs..

I'd have to vote for Kodos, Marko D and Boldyn. All three are absolute powerhouses in Battle Angels Inc, and consistently take down prey despite being outnumbered and/or outgunned. Killing Battleships in an Interceptor? Check!
I have enormous amount of respect for these guys, not just for their top-notch fighting ability in a scrap, but their ability to lead the field as well. It's thanks to the seamless communication and organisation in Battle Angels that makes us so effective, and these guys have an enormous part to play in that.

Think he was just the guy telling everyone about this. And thx to the missle changes this was finally usefull in most combat situations.
PLanned this for long too, but we mostly faced Ravens, and without mwd, your dead.

I've been wondering forever now why i don't see offers for pvp-training by good pvp'ers for wannabees. Before eve i played Ultima Online and at a certain moment my guild reached our pvp limit. We just couldn't get any better, we didn't know how to go from there. Untill one day we hired knowledge from the Hell Warriors guild (best around) and a new world opened up for us. He coached us for a few days and at the end we knew what to do to keep getting better for the next few months. All this for a good reward.

Eve PvP is very complex, and you cant use one tactic for most situations. Mostly it depends on your commander to analyze the situation and to coordinate your modules.
Single PvP is pretty much the same, a mixture of luck and the ability to keep control of the situation.
