Originally by: Derron Bel Drones, sentry guns and NPCs will now actively target attackers of similar entities. For example, drones and NPCs will engage a target that is attacking their owning entity or 'gang members', sentry guns will engage targets attacking other guns or items within their protection, etc.
Okay...just what does this mean? Don't NPCs do this already? Or is this more applicable to player-drones and player SGs? Does this mean 1 ship tanking and 1 ship shooting up NPCs is less viable?
Plainly put, if a player is attacking 1 of 3 sentry guns in a complex, targeting 1 drone out of a swarm of 5, a drone carrying ship or 1 ship in a convoy of 3, the other members of the group will attack the player. All the sentry guns will defend the attacked gun, all the drones will defend the other drones in the swarm or the carrier, or the other ships in the convoy will defend the attacked ship.
I hope that helps clear things up.
So, this will in effect mean that my 10 drones will attack a NPC that is shooting me and/or one of the drones. Great, now i can be even MORE afk when mining. As i recall, the drones did just that before (before exodus). Atm its so annoying that 1 drone gets shot to peaces.. and then another, and another. without anyone doing anything (the done that get shot reacts).
Great, return to dronebay was needed. Lets se how this works, chances are we still need 500m or so more range on the scoop command (i have drone "orbiting" to far away when moving around @ 300m sec with my mega)

There are no italics in the patch notes yet because there have been no new additions to the patch notes over the weekend. I will post to this thread, in addition to updating the notes, when there is an update.

Edited by: Grey Area on 23/08/2005 13:37:53 PLEASE in this patch can we have more info on missile launchers when loaded on a ship? Turrets give rate of fire, optimal, falloff, tracking and damage modifier, all updated for skills and other fitted modules.
Launchers give...rate of fire. If you want any more, you have to right click your ship, choose "show info", choose the modules tab, scroll dwon to the missiles, right click the missile, choose "show info", select the attributes tab, scroll down.... PLUS the effect of ballistic control units (the ONLY modifier we currently have) is not included.
As if we aren't punished enough for using missiles already!
Please! Put the following info on the "show info" tab for the launchers when fitted in space;
Flight time Velocity Edit - would it be too much to ask it to work out the effective range for us fom the above? Ammo loaded Damage Explosion radius (updated to include skills like Guided Missile Precision)
This is no different to what turret users have enjoyed for years... ========================================= * I'm ALLOWED to cheat. I'm a STARSHIP. * ========================================= |

Haven't seen a fix for the refines without taking standings into account bug in the list yet, put in a bug report for that long time back. Aside from the new lag issues, that's one of the more annoying bugs, and one that is likely to bite new players who don't know which stations are newly refiners particularly hard.

I doubt it the devs don't appreciate petition threads, they've said that before. Constructive posting is much more helpful to the devs than less than 1% of the EVE population voting on an idea with 4 or 5 pages of "/signed" spam.

Hmm really a pitty. I started a trial account a few days ago and am experiencind the win98/ME timeclass issues.
No I am not using win98/ME but play on linux using Cedega, which enables me to play windows games on my system. It simply has the same lacking functionality as win98/ME.
This game looks so good, world and interface, I wish i could play without the hickups right away.
Pitty CCP didn't want to put some critical fixes in a small patch and release that. I'm just unlucky to have started the trial now.

More changes and updates have been added to the Patch Notes. They include:
-Providence cargo bonus increase by skill level works properly. -Minmatar Service Outpost factories are open for business. -The Gith X-Type Ballistic Deflection Field has been renamed to Gist X-Type Ballistic Deflection Field. -The length of the Market tutorial was reduced and the Assets tutorial was modified. -Amarr Navy Slicer gave a 5% increase in cap usage and 10% increase in rof per level, it should be a decrease of 10% cap usage and increase of 5% damage per level. This has been fixed and the description has been updated. -Minor typos to the Patch Note text have been fixed and clarifications made.

Nope.. I am playing on Linux, using Cedega. Luckily a player wrote a small windows DLL and program for win98/ME which fixes the problem until CCP patches it. And I figured out how I could use that to get rid of exactly the same problem on Linux too http://transgaming.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3719.
So now CCP can wait with their patch as long as they want ;)
MAN it is so relaxing without the hickups, i really appreciate that fix!

There are a couple things I'd like to see added(if possible) that haven't been mentioned yet...
1)ships *actually having full cap when undocking 2)ability to see alliance-set standing when viewing a specific character's info
Number two would likely require a fourth field under 'relationship' so I don't really expect it, but I'll suggest it nonetheless.

Regarding corporate hangar arrays: patch notes state they will have to be online for items to be added; so nothing will happen to those items that are already inside them (and they will be accessible after onlining), right ? Please confirm, otherwise our corp will have to move 1 million m3 in a hurry....

Mining Crystals now have a lifespan based a potential damage over time used formula. They do not last indefinitely.
FOF missiles can no longer be fired from Rocket Launcher II's.
Good job CCP.
One toon has spent the last two weeks training to use t2 strips, which may have just got screwed ( mind giving us some indication HOW LONG they last or would that be too obvious of a concern for you to address in the patch notes? ), instead of working towards barge V.
The other toon has been training rockets IV & V to give my AC jag some standoff range against those damned irritating wingmen & webifiers that like to hang just at the edge of ac range. ( let alone the isk spent on near worthless RL-II's now )
All this in the same week I lose a cyclone to lag & CCP's inability to inform its customeers that there ship is scrambled really makes me unhappy with CCP.
Its especially agravating because if they had patched as per schedule two weeks ago I'd have known and NOT made the wasteful training choices I did.

Dear Devs I had to read the notes two times just that I didnt miss anything and I didnt find what I was looking for.
OVERVIEW! I can't believe its not fixed. There has been tons of threads about it, how its totally screwed and how ppl shoot wrong targets because of it. Yet you have fixed the more important things, like EULA button, Jukebox volume, Chat character avatar pictures... really important stuff indeed... gimme a break.
And what about 'filtering neutral ships ships from overview' feature which was promised few months ago???
Those two are not really asked a much. You have said its easy to do the neutral thingie on overview, but yet there's some jukebox tuning on the patch which seems to be more important. I really hope you can look into overview since I can guarantee, im not the only one suffering from it. --

You didnt find it odd having to train rockets 5 to be able to fire FOF missiles from rocket launchers? It was clearly not intended that RL II's should be able to fire FOF, seeing as RL I's cant.

I found another gang assist module bug. I assume targeted armour repair systems means remote amour rapier systems? Or am I reading that wrong?
ôIncreases the speed of the gang's personal and targeted armor repair systems.ö
Yet when using the gang assist models both the modules donÆt work/effect the remote amour repair modules.
Any chance this bug will be fixed in the patch or is it to late now?

I just want a HUD that clearly displays what happens in a battle. Is that to much to ask for?
The current HUD with its fast disappearing message boxes has to be the worst HUD ever in a space game. Its a pity such a easy-to-fix issue hasnt been solved in what? 5 years?
Take a look at this thread for some ideas.
