Actually, they don't have any drive. They float in space, hoping that a good bumpageddon bump them in the right direction to the gate. That's why they're so slooow.

if a freighter jumps, it uses a gate or a jump drive depending on whether it is a freighter or not

They have Warp Drives , Drives , Can drive to a Stargate, but can't use jump drives also they can transport them . That is clear. But when they jump from a stargate they sort of use the jump drives from the stargate . So it can be confusing.

If a freighter coudl use a jumpdrive then you would see it hoping up and down in space every so often, whilst using a stargate causes everyone to die of burns from the heat the star gives off...

Yes, but technically if your dreadgate freightjumps it causes a temporal stardrive meltdown that creates a wormhole larger than the Eve gate that can eventually return you home.......
...wait, if the wormhole is larger than the Eve gate, does this mean that dreadfreighters will emerge from the ruins that was once Earth?

According to CCP's theorem, once any two stardrives come into
concatct with eachother, the contiune to communicate through
jumpdreads no matter how much time or distance passes between them.
Given the idea of a freightgate, or a gatedrive inititiated universe,
all stardrives began in contact, and thus the whole universe is one vast
interconnected drivespace. A drivethrough web where all information is
shared non-locally by jumpgates, like reflections in an infinite crystalline
drive-lattice with a mirror at every intersection.
While it is possible jumpstars could bubble out of such a structure the way
it does out of dronegates, allowing the drivegates to know themselves, this
is merely a suppostition, but not really necessary.
If every gatedread is connected in a grand quarkian clusterfreight, then the
drives are aware of things, and if you think that every gate thinks and the
very existence of thinking gates makes the entire shebang a thinking gate,
and you are the mind of the drivethroughjumpmoonsolargates.

So Stardrives use Jumpgates wich eat dreadnought and beargates eat freighters and freighters but still the freighters can carry jumpdrives but can't/won't use jumpdrives witch dreadnought use....

Freighters use bargates, not beergates. not to be confused with star-diddly-um drives, owned by billgates who has beergates. Remember, stirdrives are used by t2 woks (not ewoks) with double yam-attacks adn/or freighter gods sacrificing beargates for teh further good of stargates. which eat dreadnaughts. and lemmings.

OMFG, they can Hold a Stargate or a Jumpdrive in its hold - they use JumpGates and Stargates but they cannot use Jumpdrives or StarDrives. And if you want to haul rice - u can feed whole China with one load.

-Dreadnaughts EAT freighters and POSs, but not jupgates or gatestars

ever since the starwhales got nerfed in RMR, they now use Starjumpgates, but only Monday to Friday. On saturday they go to the races and on Sunday they do voluntery work.
