ok, imagine you could only flight one ship and only one ship. which one would it be? and take into account that this question is not only for PvP. Really, imagine that you could only own one ship for the rest of your days on EVE, and would have to fight, or mine, or do missions, or the three of them. or maybe you just want to travel all along the beutiful space. BUT, just on ONE SHIP.

the dominix may be butt ugly, but its the most versatile ship in game.
while everyone else flys around in their tank/gank apocs/armas. or in their EW scorps. ill be drifting round with any number of wildcard setups :p

Hmm.
Cerberus is an awesome freelancing ship, for COSMOS missions, etc.
The rifter is just beautiful, great for flying everywhere and doing everything.

i disagree, while it may have a very versatile/mixed amount of hi/mid/low slots, its still tier 1 with low cap, pg, and cpu. you can do a lot with it, it just wont do any of it very well, except for dronage.

u can take so many drones with you combat and mining, u can get 800 mining batch per minute, with good skills.
and many minin gdrones 1.
but i would go anywere in a cerberus or eagle, it will jsut have to be a hac,

Much as I love my Raven, I'd have to say the tempest. It's probably the most versatile ship in EVE with the capacity to do just about anything. Its only drawback is that is requires one HELL of a lot skillpoints to use effectively.

Wish I had one of those, man. Once I'm done with picking up tech 2 1400's (currently training large projectile 5 and will work down from there), I'll have to train gallente ships from scratch and stockpile a large amount of money before I can buy and use one.

Any other BS > Bhaalgorn at ranges greater than 25km. 
Though, at short range, the Bhaalgorn is EVIL. The only real way to beat it at that range is to overcome its tank before your cap dies or to fit LOTS of armor plates so you don't have to actively tank, yourself.

It has a somewhat lower-than-average DPS for a turret ship. However, it makes up for this with the ability to choose damage types - if you've ever had Fusion ammo from a 1400 hitting your armor, you know what I mean.
The other reason is that, to fly a tempest effectively, one must have very good gunnery, missile, and fitting skills. Until the pilot reaches such a point, the tempest is inherently less-effective than other races' ships.

Dominix. Show me another ship that can fit 6 miner II's run a full 2 large rep 3 hardener tank and still have the 15 heavy drones to take out NPC spawns. Can also be fun to use in PvP.

Can use a nice amount of drones.
Nice cargo cap even with 3 overdrives fitted (enough to take one cycle of the 3 miner II's you can fit to it + the drones)
And has a fairly nice amount of mid and low slots. :)

The Dominix is the most versatile ship in the game, hands down. It can shield or armor tank, it can fit rails or blasters, it can hold both mining and combat drones in large numbers, it has the midslots to do EW and the lowslots to do a nanofiber speed setup. It has enough CPU to fit both a tank and mining setup, or a tank and pvp setup, and just enough grid to fit some heavy nosses if that's your style.
No matter what ship somebody is flying, you can customize your Dominix to win fairly easily. They're ganking? Go EW. They're tanking? Go Nos. They're EW? You can fit plenty of ECCM with your five midslots AND your drones don't need to target them. It can customize damage by holding different damage drones, and it can customize damage to ship classes by holding different drone sizes.
With the advent of the Return + Scoop command, there's never been a better reason to buy a dominix.

For me the answer is simple... the ibis. (or add your race starter ship here)
I mean think about it. It all ready comes loaded with everything you need for pvp and mining. Sure it can't win every fight it is in. But then again neither can any other ship out there. However, if I lose this ship I get another just like it and I don't have to pay any isk to get it. So, I can make money with it, or shoot at folks with it, and it will never cost me a dime, regardless of how many of them I lose.

Id have to go with tempest myself. Even though with good skills i get pwned by every battleship that challeges me just about. just cant compete in a head on fight, gotta outrange the target or be so close that it cant hit you. But ive grown to love the ship. If I could use hac id go vagabond tho.

I can only imagine the mining capability of a dreadnought if "capital strip miners" were introduced into the game.
Heck, "capital strip miners" could spawn an entirely new ship type (capital mining barges anyone?).
Anyway, if I had the money and skills to fly one, the Machariel wins hands down.

Hmmm...it isnt all about the uber "i win" ship eitehr remember guys...though i would choose the Deimos...just because it really does fit how i love fighting. If not the Deimos then a Gisti'ed Worm....since no one expects one of those to be able to tank all day long *grin* and i love the paint job on it.
I know its just a game but i really wonder how many of these mouthy F*cks would have the stones to say that sort of thing in real life. |

Faction battleships should really be stripped from the list. Of course people would rather fly around a 4 billion isk ship with faction setups, but that wasn't the point of this thread.

I would have said dominix as I'm pure Gallente trained... until I jumped into an Ishtar. The only skill I think I could possibly improve on is getting Drone Interfacing V.
NOW PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF MONKEYS CAN I HAVE SOME T2 DRONES FOR A SANE PRICE???

well, i voted for cyclone some days ago (i am a total newbie and i just look at the atributes of the ship and thought it was just awesome), but now i think that the one that best suits my gameplay is either the stabber or the vagabond, very fast ships and with a big cargo. i guess the fact of choosing 3 minmatar ships in a row makes me the perfect newbie :)
right now i am training the learning skills, and as soon as i finish i will start with minm frig (i am caldari :() and will try to get a vigil and then a stabber as soon as i can
given that i am not very interested on fighting i want a ship that can do a great variety of things, and can do all of them quite good. i think that is what minmatar ships are for, right? i can do missions, mine, a little of pvp, trade, and though i can not excel at any of them, i can do them OK, and very important for me, fast. thus, for me, stabber or, hopefully someday, vagabond

My choice would be the Tyrant , Tempest slot layout with 8 turret hardpoints and 25k pg base and Machariel skin.
If im to settle for a ship that i can actualy have it would be the Machariel witout a doubt.

If were talking fun i want to try. Id say id go for domi. I havent trained that gallante BS yet, but im considering just to try out the drone skills i wasted so much time on. It looks fun. I have no idea how it works in PvP, but i can imagine that those pesky drones will keep getting stuck on eachother. Still looks like fun.
This thread made me start training for domi. Shame on you !

Probably an Ishtar or Dominix cose honistly what cant you do with drones, but i do love my geddon/raven/harpy/rifter/scorp/etc etc... and would probably stop playing the game after 10 mins if i could only fly one ship.
Dominix yeah id do the dominix, i think it would give me 15 mins.
