Is CCP in blast radius of Hekla Volcano?
Apparently it's awake and more dangerous than ever.
It's named Gates of Hell by locals as far as I know.
Anyone that can confirm that? or share more information about that? |

IIRC Hekla is about an hours drive to the East of Reykjav+¡k, as for being in the blast radius that would depend on whether Hekla had just a morning fart or a night after spicy cheesy bean burrito fart.
Two of the defining characteristics of a carebear are wanting other players to play the way the carebear wants and whining on the forums for the game to change when they don't. Yet I see more threads on these forums from gankers than I do miners whining about wanting the game changed to suit them. |

If Hekla does more than farts, than most of Iceland is in trouble (and the parts south of Hekla is gone).
But it's not a big issue, since the servers are in the greater London area (UK) ;)
But we might suffer a slight delay in updates from the Iceland office. CCP Eterne: Silly player, ALL devs are evil. CCP (aka Judge) Peligro: I will find you main.

We're not within blast range. Hekla goes off on a regular interval, every ~10 years, and Reykjavik is a safe distance away. Last eruption was in 2000, so we are over-due. Katla is the less nice volcano here.
The only concern is if a dust cloud moves through the city, as it can affect respiratory function. But we've had a few dust clouds pass through Reykjavik over the last few weeks from another eruption from a year or two ago that got kicked up and carried through Reykjavik.
Living on a volcanic rock, this is something everybody is prepared for. So I wouldn't be worried Just a random dude in Team Security. |
