If one looks at Nitrogen Isotopes in Jita, there are a ton of sell orders that were created on the 19th that are still up at prices in the 800-1200 / unit sell price.
It appears that a a LOT of people with a LOT of money are quite content to keep those orders up, even though the current sell has settled in the 475 range. Guess they are positive that ice production is going to take a real hit.
Must be nice to play the markets with complete certainty of changes the devs are making to the game.

There will be new scanning mechanics. I think it is safe to assume that bots will take plenty of time to adjust.

Scanning is made easier, ice-belt in high sec will be removed, but the new Gravimetric (Ore) sites will contain enough ice for the high-sec markets. (New Ice Belt names: Blue Ice Belt, White Glaze Belt, Smooth Glacial Mass Belt)
So what if these chances are made to make it "harder" to use ice bots. The prices to ice products will only be affected a little bit.

True but they still have to be in incredible large quantities to supply all pos around.Maybe not 100k+ but my guess is 50k+ minimum but lets wait to see on the test server. |

According to CCP Devblog: "We at CCP want ice harvesting to be a lucrative activity that encourages players to relocate and compete for a piece of the pie."
"New Eden currently enjoys a massive oversupply of ice, which stifles competition and emergent gameplay with the notable exception of a few specific organized ice interdictions performed by some very ambitious players."
No Matter which way you spin it. More Lucrative Activity + Relocate + Compete + Decreased Supply = Higher price of Ice. |

You are miss reading it. High Sec will have enough Ice in the annoms to service 80% of current ice usage assuming perfect mining. This means 20% of the market must be served by NS and LS. Currently Ice in HS is infinite, and only gated by people's desire to mine it. Ice is going to be expensive and a source of conflict in HS.... This is a little deceptive. Static (permanent) ice fields in highsec, are being replaced with gravimetric ice belts in highsec, that will deplete and respawn.
As for botting, it will all come down to whether or not the ice belts stay in the current ice systems, or move system to system. If they remain in the current system, the bots will only need a slight adjustment to their script, and will experience little to no change in efficiency. |

Actually.. This will lead to having a team of 10 macks and 2 bumpers with orca support being able to keep bots from cashing in. Bumping macks out of range will now be profitable for mining corps. |

It was the last Goon speculation in ice - the ice interdiction - which prompted most of the hardcore industrialists to build up their stockpiles, after the interdiction ended. Many industrialists are sitting on years worth of fuel for their POS towers, acquired long before Odyssey was announced. I know one paranoid fellow who had stockpiled 10 years worth of fuel for each of his towers.
The 80% of ice remaining in high-sec should be more than enough to keep all of those stockpiles topped off for a long time. |

In some respect those people are correct. It will depend on how long of a supply they purchased and how effectively they manage an active tower. There is no doubt that POS fuel will become much more expensive, this will have a trickle down effect on the tech 2 market and BPC market. Faction towers will also has a shorter payback period.
Moon mining, reactions, and BPO research are not free, so expect higher fuel price to bake itself into these markets in some way. There is the potential to add significant value to that fuel if those people have stockpiled or purchased fuel for cheap. |

If they bought the fuel cheap then they have made a profit on the FUEL. The opportunity cost of not realising that profit by selling it back to the market should be accounted for in costing the ongoing operations of the POS. If it is not a profitable POS at the new fuel prices then it should cease.
However this is EVE and a game, so people will do whatever they want, and thats fine by me, In RL I would not take such a relaxed approach because there can be real consequences to not understanding your costs.

Given that the "80%" as stated by CCP represents every single chunk of ice reaching the market in one form or another, and thus optimistic to say the least, it should be remembered that there are many ways to disrupt that supply. It's going to be fun.
Optimism is cheap. Ice is not. Welcome to EVE.

If you ever mined Gravi site in Hisec, you are completly aware that amount of minerals in m3 on said gravi is poor in best case (50k-100km3 on average). So when Ice mining will be moved to exploration system gravi Ice belts may contain very little of Ice.
Personally I think Ice miners will be forced to move to lowsec gravi sites or nullsec to keep Ice production volumes at current level.

All ice anoms, not Hisec Ice anoms.
While in lowsec gravi sites are very common and plentifull, in hisec it's another story. I probe 10 - 15 star systems each day and every day. Sure we dont know how many gravi ice spawns there will be or how high yeld they will be but if CCP just add them to curent exploration system i wouldnt expect to mine Ice in hisec too often. |

CCP has lots of possibilities to adjust the ice market, if it develops into an unwanted situation:
- They can modify spawn rates
- They can modify spawn size
- They can modify production requirements
- They can modify fuel consumption rates
- etc
So the question is not what will happen like the consequences of some unavoidable natural event, but what CCPs wants to happen.
My guess is, that CCP wants to motivate high-sec players to move more into low-sec and null-sec. Unfortunately, that will not happen or at best in very limited quantities only. After more then 15 years MMORPG experience I can say, that carebears will rather leave the game, when it becomes to frustrating or cumbersome to stay, than give up their carebear mindset.
Caldari fuel blocks in particular are needed by carebears for high sec research POSes. When those blocks become much more expensive because of ice scarcity, they would just stomach the increased costs and raise their prices a bit. If the costs become prohibitive to continue with their gameplay, they may try to do something different in high-sec, or they would stop playing the game. Only a very small minority would consider to go to low-sec or null-sec.
Where we are back at the beginning of this posting. CCP will realize the effects of its actions to its subscriber base. If it starts to hurt, they will tweak at one or more of the above mentioned points. So in the long run, the price of Caldari fuel blocks will adjust to a generally accepted and acceptable level, in my guess not much higher then now before inflation adjustments.
