Yeah and if BS tiericide shows any promise once the numbers hit the test server, the other minerals will be following. Like I said elsewhere - zyd (and nocx) are just the canaries. Mynnna for CSM 8 |

It's just amazing how our CEO can tell thousands of people information on a public service network and eveo MD still hasn't caught up a day later. |

You might get a nice cheap tower if the fuel prices go too wacky. |

I'm trying to decide whether the jump in ice is mostly Odyssey speculation, or mostly burn Jita2. Don't want to start hoarding too soon.

I was watching the Isotope market the last 3 months as i wanted to invest some billions, when i read the interview where Soundwave said something like "i want the ice to be the oil of EVE" i knew i was too late. Damn it. |

It is premature to assume that you've missed the boat completely.
Not maximised your profits perhaps, but don't forget that fanfest hasn't even started yet!
Although there have been plenty of leaks, there are bound to be some surprises still. |

If one looks at Nitrogen Isotopes in Jita, there are a ton of sell orders that were created on the 19th that are still up at prices in the 800-1200 / unit sell price.
It appears that a a LOT of people with a LOT of money are quite content to keep those orders up, even though the current sell has settled in the 475 range. Guess they are positive that ice production is going to take a real hit.
Must be nice to play the markets with complete certainty of changes the devs are making to the game.

There will be new scanning mechanics. I think it is safe to assume that bots will take plenty of time to adjust.

Scanning is made easier, ice-belt in high sec will be removed, but the new Gravimetric (Ore) sites will contain enough ice for the high-sec markets. (New Ice Belt names: Blue Ice Belt, White Glaze Belt, Smooth Glacial Mass Belt)
So what if these chances are made to make it "harder" to use ice bots. The prices to ice products will only be affected a little bit.
I'll ride with the first speculation wave, and then sell it fast. http://heavysteel-inc.blogspot.nl/ |

If ice belts have to be scanned, then they must deplete.
it wouldn't make sense if something have to be scanned, but once found, they stay forever. |

True but they still have to be in incredible large quantities to supply all pos around.Maybe not 100k+ but my guess is 50k+ minimum but lets wait to see on the test server. |

The overall amount of ice will diminish. Once ice is set to deplete, it will gain strategic value no matter where and how it's located. CCP wants that strategic value as a reason to have people fight.

So much for the speculation.Read the blog. Not only belts will not be hard to find ccp stated the average size will be 20% less than what we have now so my guess is accurate.Normal ice roid will be around 40-70k in size. |

According to CCP Devblog: "We at CCP want ice harvesting to be a lucrative activity that encourages players to relocate and compete for a piece of the pie."
"New Eden currently enjoys a massive oversupply of ice, which stifles competition and emergent gameplay with the notable exception of a few specific organized ice interdictions performed by some very ambitious players."
No Matter which way you spin it. More Lucrative Activity + Relocate + Compete + Decreased Supply = Higher price of Ice. |

In the long term yes but that depends if people decide to dump or not when expansion hits.

You are miss reading it. High Sec will have enough Ice in the annoms to service 80% of current ice usage assuming perfect mining. This means 20% of the market must be served by NS and LS. Currently Ice in HS is infinite, and only gated by people's desire to mine it. Ice is going to be expensive and a source of conflict in HS.... Former forum cheerleader CCP, now just a hopeful small portion of the community. |
