Is it me or are the EVE servers still down, only just come back on after a few days, just wondering if its my machine not picking them up.

Yes hmmpf...
If they are going to have an extended downtime anyways then just extend it long enough!!
its 13:24 it should have been up 24 minutes ago. Why not just say extended till 14h?! This looks bad and its annoying to top it off, extending it for 'a long enough time' would look better on the devteam...
Now everyone is left in the dark again. What are we supposed to think now? 'OMG what the hell are they doing, are they screwing up majorly or something??'. If they would announce a longer extention people would get more of an idea that the downtimes and maintanance are progressing seemlessly

Saffron : the server is never ever back online at the published time. On average it's 20 minutes after the time that they state before anyone can login.
As an aside - I don't know why the hell they don't change the published times. They know how long the cluster takes to "boot", so why **** people around by stating incorrect downtime every damn day!

I have to agree with some of the other guys up here, why have notices saying that the daily downtime is 1 hour, when I've yet to see the servers back up within that hour, they are always late. So CCP have known, on a daily basis how long it takes to reboot the servers, and still they are trying to bluff people with the 1 hour joke.

This is just unbelievable that they actually want us to beta test a game and pay for it at the same time yet any problems we find they donĘt even fix i.e. instead of trying to sort crash to desktop problems they changed the round dot to a tick. Which was absolutely no need for. The time that is spent on the game is so great that when you lose it due to crashes to desktop or rollback it just makes it pointless. Is it any reason that the game is losing popularity if CCP done something about it maybe then the game would be more successful. I will not be buying any more games made by CCP as the expensive maintenance cost and all the bugs make the game not worth playing Soo whats CCP gonna do about this

I don't want to be rude or anything, I respect your opinions. I would like to play EVE now too, but, if this extended downtime is for maintenance, and if they are squashing the database, defragging disks, changing hardware, *insert whatever here*, then it's a good thing.
I remember the last maintenance, the market came up faster, lots of things were a bit faster too. I don't mind waiting a bit more. Let's have some patience... maybe they will fix some problems now ingame. btw, I don't think they simply unplugged the servers and are drinking beer. _______________________________________________

The servers usually go down 5 minutes early but I've had little trouble logging on 15-30 minutes early some days. Them being late today I can live with if they ever sort the market out and go back to the shortened downtime.

Question Why is the server down? Answer Extended Downtime. We need to schedule an extented 3+ hour downtime tomorrow, 30th of July. This is needed to run periodic maintenance on the cluster.

I'd love to see a live webcam at CCP... that way when everyone starts scurrying around all freaked out, you'd know ahead of time that it's going to be an extended downtime.

Hehe this is great, so many people are posting so quickly that I can actually read this thread in realtime!!!
Anyways guys! Lighten up eh! We have all done things that turn out to take longer than expected, and the last thing you want or need is for poeple to be screaming at you...
Lets just give them the time they need to finish

Now we just have to see what it says for news when we log in...
"Databases flushed, lost in battle..."
So we all have to start from square 1 ;)
Are we going to get a new patch?

With this type of service you can tell why CCP have only got one program for sale.
They might learn one day that the customer needs looking after. Im a network admin and If I gave this type of service I would have been fired.
