Excellent tool, thanks man. The Skill Explorer is a neat addition. Being able to see what prerequisites I'm missing from certain skills really helps me plan my training.

I agree with the above. I downloaded it yesterday, and I like how the skill explorer makes it apparent how much time it would take to get to a certain skill. Would it be possible to show a sum of all of the training times for the pre-requisites of a skill, if the skill is not yet learned? Just a total of the times needed to train the pre-requisites up to the minimum level needed to train the first level of the viewed skill. Anyway, it's not hard to get an idea of this duration just by looking at the underlying skills.
Thanks for the program!

I'm working on that Han Iolo, the problem is repeated pre-requisite skills requiring different levels for the target skill.
I have to do two things to make that happen:
1) Remove multiple duplicate requirements 2) Take highest time if there are multiple duplicate requirements
Then I can show the totals and start displaying the training times for other levels of skills that you don't yet have.
As example, just say you want to get into a dread but only have spaceship command 4, it would then show how long with your current attributes it would take to train spaceship command to level 5, advanced spaceship command to level 5 and display that time beside capital ships. --

Whoa! What a great tool! Helps a lot when planning ahead or if you have a lot of skills to sift thru to pick the best one to train. Skill explorer is very neat, helps when you are a having a shor-circuit in your head and keep forgetting reqs after playing eve 18hrs straight. :P
One little hitch i have encountered is the "Mining Upgrades" skill. Says its not found in skills.xml Other than that it works like a charm
Cheers!

I) think the last time I mined, Noah was still a boy. I guess I missed this, could some kind soul please post the exact skill name and group (I assume Industry), primary and secondary attributes so that I can add this skill to the file
Any other missing skills will also be added ASAP, so don't feel ashamed to post if you have something elite that isn't currently on the market.
And a very merry christmas to you all --

Just posting to say that this is a great tool and I use it often. I prefer it to EVE Character Manager because of its simplicity.
Oh and while I'm thinking about it, would it be possible to make the Open dialog's location default to the EVESkill directory? I like to keep all my EVE apps and stuff in one place and I have to navigate there every time I run it.

It defaults to your home directory, but I can easily add something that remembers the last directory you opened. I'll look into it. --

If I may be so bold, I suggest a little change for the Skill Explorer Section.
Black: Skills you have now, in your head. Green: Skills you could train right now, in that you have all the pre-requisites. Yellow: Skills for which you dont have the prerequisites at the level they are needed, but you have them [all] in your head. Red: Skills for which you dont have some or all of the the prerequisites, at all.
Fantastic program though, no bones about it :D -- bumcheekcity

The only time the top area is bjorked is hen you have +5 implants because for some reason they are not included in the XML data that CCP provides. Well at least they weren't a month ago.
If something else is broken, how about explaining what you mean. --

Very nice tool being a new player I'm looking for all the resources I can use to plan things out offline as well.
One thing to point out though, it is missing one of the new Trading Skills "Black Market Trading"

You have to install Java Run Time Edition to use it (link at the bottom of 1st post) then you should see it's type change to "Executable Jar File" (JAR = Java ARchive). --

Awesome program, can't express how useful it has been!
One bug though, Assault Ships is a Rank 4 skill, but in your "skills" file it shows up as a Rank 6 skill (and when the program calculates it).
Any chance of seeing some "+" and "-" buttons for attributes, to see what that better implant or higher level of attribute skill will do? I realize all the stuff would have to be recalculated after that, but it would be really nifty.

The download link doesn't work anymore
The .zip file has been replaced with an image saying it doesn't meet eve-files.com hosting terms. (it took me some time to figure out it was actually a Jpeg and not a Zip file I downloaded )

I've EVE-Mailed Chribba about this.
I've uploaded it again at http://www.eve-files.com/media/corp/DAW/eveskill(1).zip
Hopefully this will get sorted out soon. --
