Yes - When is POCO going to be implemented? I didn't see anything in the devblog about that...

In the main thread I believe he said everything is ready to go, but they either don't have a time worked out yet, or they just don't want to say.
Theres a lot of info not covered in the dev blog in that thread, I really reccomend reading it, otherwise its just going to be the same questions asked again. |

I believe they said somewhere between 'American Thanksgiving' and Christmas, which for the Google impaired, would imply somewhere between the 24th Nov and 25th Dec 2011. |

this is one of the worst Idea's ccp ever had, if they have any brains left they will trash this idea and move on to stuff that needs fixed like pos's and super capitals, assault frigs, diemos etc etc.
The only change they need to make to PI is allowing you to select all of you factorys to set the item type on all at once. |

Yeah, it's annoying how they can't work on fixing super capitals, assault frigates and hybrid guns, when they're focused on this useless PI stuff.
This of course explains why Goons attacked ice. They probably thought, well we can't mess around with the PI side of it, but the ice is fair game. Then when the new CO comes in, the people with a POS get hit with price jumps, right after we've messed with the price of ice.
See the price jump of the Advanced PI products already. |

It's kind of amusing how CCP's whole "we're sorry, we messed up and are going to listen to the players from now on" doesn't apply to this project. A quick browse through the comments thread has every dev post being "nuh-uh, players aren't gonna do what you players are saying you're gonna do, you're gonna do what the magical unicorns in our marketing department say you're gonna do." |

They "might" not have to change anything, if it works well enough. We'll see what happens first and then you can say "I told you so", if it doesn't work ;P |

No problems bar one with this as an idea, why have player owned CO's when surely it would be better to have player owned launchpads instead?
Instead of everyone having their own launchpad, make it so that only one could be placed on a planet and ownership of this could be changed through either orbital bombardment or PI created (or purchased) security forces. This would enable the different players using a planet to link their infrastructures together through a single hub, something to fight over (to set the taxes etc.) and when Dust 514 comes along, something for the dust-mites to fight over for the capsuleers....
Bar that, i like it.. :)

CCP has clearly changed directions here. They are FINALLY DOING MORE THAN ONE THING AT ONCE and you attack them for it. |

They might have good reason for their views on CCP. Shouldn't judge people when you don't know them. Even if they do come across as a bit of a douche bag.
mkint usually seems to have a fair idea about most things EVE and CCP related. It's just a bit of a negative view. |

WTF is everyone on about? Can't tell if some people are being sarcastic or not.. I think this is great. Everyone complains about CCP creating features which aren't completely finished then leaving them broken for years. This is an example of them listening to the player base and not doing that. And in regards to Super-caps, assault frigates and POS's: they're doing them at the same time? Lol some people must be trolling, if you are - bad trolls! |

Some people are just annoyed, with the announcement of all the new features and being really excited about them are slightly dissapointed that this is announced over those. It like a father has a favorite child.
Supers were announced and capitals, but some are still excited about the hybrids and assault frigs. We even got ship spinning back and that PI and its still a bit sad no word on hybrids or that frig I suppose. |

Actually, I do like the idea of this being player run... I think it opens up opportunities for interesting gameplay. What I don't like is CCP Omen's dismissive attitude. It's the same attitude CCP took with the dread changes with Dominion. It's an attitude that says "I'm right, you're wrong, lalalala" and has lead to :18months: of broken gameplay in so many different areas of the game. They are deliberately ignoring player concerns. Just flip through the dev blog thread and read how CCP Omen responds to player concerns. Not once does he say "oh, good point, let me fix that" even when it's an issue on the absurdity scale of :target painting POS structures and supercaps: parallels from Dominion. Some of his suggestions about how it will play are clearly delusional to anyone who's even so much as played a trial. With the level of dev delusion in the thread, we really can only hope those workshop gnomes fix it while CCP Omen is sleeping, because that is far more likely an event than the PI team actually listening to the people who actually play the game. |

Now, in my mind this is a valid and RELEVANT point to raise.
What I read when CCP Omen said: The code was ready and then we're eliciting preferences.
He meant that: CCP is actually ABLE to do it now and NOT some pie in the sky idea 18 months from now.
As far as him being dismissive, I think it is eye of the beholder, as some of the early posts were IMNSHO were whines and kneejerk reactions, which in all honestly, they've likely heard and reasoned through many of them already. Where CCP still needs to excel is in communicating a REAL FAQ or FRO (Frequently Raised Objections), as they could save a lot of time making the devblogs a little longer with more of the "by the way we already heard these objections and here is how we handled them".
Also mkint, I rescind my previous douche bag accusation, I have promised myself NOT to post here before coffee, and I often break that promise.

Intresting idea...I am willing to give it a go. But for the love of blueberries CCP PLEASE increase the command center launch from 500m3 to 2000m3 or higher. 500 is just stupidly low. |

I agree CC are not very useful other than lumps on a planet. I seldom if ever actually use them for even their storage, and now that CO are changing, it makes sense to do this change.
