Originally by: Nyrram Put a POS at a moon in full agressive mode.. warp to that moon from any direction and drop a cargo canister, move 15km straight ahead from your canister.. deploy medium warp bubble... enjoy your loot from anyone dumb enough to warp to your moon... would prolly work, and spare the CPU usage of POS warp disruptors? :)
God no
Make a BM to the POS Copy it about 20 times and drop tham at a gate, then collect ur loot
No, no, no. Use the copies to spike insta sets sold on escrow. ______________________________________________

Will warp bubbles stop people from warping from their area of effect?

Sorry to dig up this old post -
I have spent a few days folling around with medium and small bubbles. Anchored a couple at different safespots - and made all kinds of bookmarks around them. At various ranges in a line, also from different directions.
What is baffling me is that on one side of the bubble, I can warp at 100 to a bm that is 60 from the bubble, and it still sucks me in. But doing the exact same thing, from the other direction, the bubble only pulls me if I warp in to a bm that would have dropped me out of warp within 40 or so from the bubble.
So one side it is working at up to 165km but on the other side it only works at 40 - what is up with that. Also, warping in from the side, rather then to an inline bm, I can warp at 15 to a bm that is only 5km from the edge and it doesnt pull me in. but coming from the linear direction that same bm at 100 it pulls ya in.
Really doesn't make any sense. From one direction it consistently works - and from the other direction it consistently doesn't work. <Shrugs>
Any ideas? =)

exactly the same for me! i warped to a bm 200 of the gate, 30 from that. so 230 from the gate, about 245 from the bubble. still got sucked in. petition gm told me it was working fine. i disagree

I justg can't figure out why warping in from one side it sucks ya out at 200km and warping in from the opposite direction it only works about 40km. When bubble is at safe between two gates, and warping on a bm about 20km away from the bubble on each side, just doesn't make sense why it has huge range one way, and short range the other.

They work from the "warp to" point. If your warp to point is 10KM beyond the gate (e.g. an insta) and the bubble is placed 10km beyond the gate, it pulls you into it, regardless of how near of far you decided to warp to it.
They work like this because they dont actually pull people from warp if they warp through it. The only counter is to make your instas for a "warp to" of say 40km beyond the target (or any distance that the bubble doesn't cover) or to adjust the trajectory of the warp in so the bubble doen't effect you.
Then you'll land on the gate, and the campers will swear.
Its a pity you learned this the hard way though.

The following is just my belief, but from experience I think it holds true.
Bubbles suck you in along a straight line as long as that line coincides with your flight path AND your exit point is in the same grid as the bubble. Note the grid part.
Grids are 256kmX256km (I believe). The bubble is not always centered in the middle of a grid, nor is a gate. Thats why you can place the bubble and be sucked into it at 120km from one side, or even 200km but only 40 from the other side.
Again, I can't "prove" this, but everything I've seen seems to confirm it.
I've never been sucked in at 300km+. Don't set your safe spot at 300km though, its within the range of "sight" and an inty can and will warp to your ass. 500km is usually a good rule of thumb.

So just to confirm....
A bubble is set up 10km behind a gate when looking from the warp-in direction (ie. the spot you would Bookmark for an insta). If I was then to warp to this gate, with an insta which was made at a point inside the bubble's field of effect, Instead of landing ontop of the gate, I would be pulled into the area of effect of the bubble. However if i was to warp to the gate at 15km (no insta) I would not be pulled into the bubble, but instead land at the normal 15km from gate.
Does that sound right? Its got me pretty confused and I wanna make sure I understand properly. Do interdiction Spheres work in a similar way? -----

Originally by: tatana kira I've just been informed by a gm that it is indeed a bug for the mobile warp disruptor to suck you in and they are not supposed to work that way, hes handing the issue over to the devs for fixing.
I'll beleive this when I see it.
Half of them dont know their arse from their elbow. Theres one that told a player hes not getting sec increases from killing rats cos they are "below his level".

I think that dev was playing WoW when he answered that.
