Anyone seen any devs with an interest in missions lately? They all seem to be AWOL. Haven't seen so much as a GM in this forum in ages.

think they are scared to show face.
been so many valid questions about mission choice, quality of agent offers etc etc but not a single official response and not a single entry anywhere on "in testing" "in development" or even "drawing board" to indicate they are even considering improving things.

I would say mission runners become the most screwed over profession in EVE, next to being a ebil pie. To many questions with no real answears, no need to reply to anything when there isnt any answears to give.

I believe the mission devs are working on cosmos agents atm. They "balanced" the old, normal missions and are now focusing on new content. Ask them/expect them to review normal missions after cosmos is done.

Edited by: capt on 05/10/2005 07:14:04 Could of course be that they just don't see a question or problem on the mission forum that they dignify worthy of a response......
I for one would most welcome to have the little interaction between the devs (Zrakor, papa smurf) we had in the good olde days.......
It's been since the summer holidays that we've seen any sign of life from Zrakor for one...... One might think he is still on a beach far far away lying under a palm tree getting a massage by a nice local girl ect ect..

Actually I'm still alive, I've just been cutting back on my forum whoring. Currently the mission devs are all busy with COSMOS and Cold War 'agents in space', there won't be much done to the generic mission system in RSR. However expect drastic changes in Kali :).
As for the pirate agents, I've significantly lowered the price of the 'blueprint blowout' pirate ship offers. You'll find them a much better deal after the next static update to TQ (probably not until RSR).
Also I've added in COSMOS type of agents which reward players with super-high standing (with a once-per-character offer-like-mission). This is actually for all factions that currently have active generic agents, but the reward is different per faction.

Less 0's than before. Yes it was lowered by that much :).
And before someone asks: I have no plans at this time to mess with the Empire faction ship offers, but if I do they won't be as cheap as the pirate ones. Now that's not saying the pirate ships are supposed to be cheap, it's just much harder to acquire the loyalty points to get them in the first place which means you should be getting a bigger bang for your buck so to speak.

Well, nice to see you around and about still, Zrackor. And thank you for the pirate offer improvement on the ships. If you get a chance could you also at least read through my post regarding pirate agents v Empire agents in general? Little things like reducing/removing the number of implants offered or the addition of the LP skillbooks to their offer tables would go one hell of a long way to making us Ebil 0.0 mission runners a tad happier.
Cheers

glad to see your still around too zrakor.
is there any chance of more variety getting added to the agent offers list?
atm once u get beyond 100k lps it feels like all u ever get offered is HW implants and the majority of those are worthless.

heh
I spent ages getting my sansha standings up from -3 or so upto 9+
then found the tags I needed for my offer weren't even in the game
then a bit later the bpcs drop from every other complex it seems
was a bit of a kick in the teeth
might have to go talk to this agent again at some point :p

If you are not going to lower the price for ships like the hookbill and navy comet at least make them worth the price.
And before you say it's already beeing updated, no I don't consider the updated hookbill mk2 being worth anyware near it's current lp cost.
At least the pirate frigates are unique with bonuses that no other ship tech 1 or 2 has, the navy versions are just slightly updated tech 1 ships.
The only reason to have one right now is to impress your friends with it's looks.
And no I am not recentfull. I have a hookbill, think it's really cool. Just want to have a use for it other than flying around the station a few laps

so no luv for pirate agents until kali?
Also will all pirate R&D agents have to compete among each other for pirate R&D stuff (ie, Serpentis archangel and sansha agent holders competing in the same lottery) or will they be split?
Also 0.0 cosmos??? when???

Zrakor, sir, what changes can we expect on agent offers in this mysterious RSR patch? Faction module blueprints? Items better representing LP cost? --------------- VIP member of the [23] Sadist - harsh to the idiots, kind to the smart |

Zrakor,
Can you please explain the justification for removing the faction module BPC's from the LP offer table. It killed the LP offer system and reduced it to just another cash grind (implants to sell for cash once you get your ship). If there was some justification for this move, it sure would make a lot of disappointed people like myself feel a bit better know what it was. Because, right now it just seems like a random fix, that bears a strange similarity to the way my dog has been 'fixed.'

I probably shouldn't even bother, but:
Will the Amarr and Gallente COSMOS Constellations be in this pre-Kali patch, or are we going to have to wait for Kali?

There was a general consensus in game design that generic missions (non-storyline and non-COSMOS) shouldn't be dishing out everything you'd ever want through the LP system. So we decided to cut back on the modules.

most people run missions in state, they all got ******, theyr LP are 100% useless and you create missions in low-sec where nobody wants to do a mission or you must be very stupid to do a mission there: 100% sure you get pot-killed 1e a week.
and those offers: the dev's say the navy ships are not for the isk but for the agent runners. well after doing that thousands of lvl3 missions for that caldary navy raven i dont think i can ever see one again, neather will any one be that stupid to take it to low sec or lvl4 missions.

I've been playing eight months or so and been running missions in 0.0 for about a month now without being podded once. Heck, I haven't even been shot at while running missions. Except for by the rats, of course.

Tell those peeps to look at the map before going into 0.4. Its got nothing to do with luck, your peeps are just acting stupid. ------------------

i have never been gateganked i fly out of high sec a hell of a lot
and when i do, i look on the map at number of deaths in past hour if there is a scary number, i avoid that system if i am doing a mission, and i see ppl with less than -5, i get worried and keep ur ship scanner watching for probes!
this isn't to say i haven't been pirated - its just to say that using the map info, and watching local can save your ass A LOT. i have been attacked at gates as well. but i have got away using my native wit and cunning (and big guns/tank) there are gate camps that would have killed me, and i am pretty lucky not to have died in low sec in the last... LONG time
Originally by: The Wizz117 theyr LP are 100% useless and you create missions in low-sec where nobody wants to do a mission or you must be very stupid to do a mission there: 100% sure you get pot-killed 1e a week.
anyone getting podded once a week without actively engaging in PvP deserves it. though that might not be what you meant. i have never heard of anyone being pot-killed b4
your LP are NOT worthless - they are worth just as much (arguably more due to not having to shift rewards to empire to sell) as LP in 0.0 or low sec. they are just harder to get.
if you do not want to do missions in low-sec, thats your choice, but you can't say "you must be very stupid to do a mission there" or that no1 wants to do missions there lots of people DO want to do missions there, and DO want to.
their missions have more risk than yours (and a lot of mine). should they not reap better rewards?
