The problem with the spider web is that the last ship to warp loses its web before getting into warp. We're all aligned and at max webbed speed... warp... oh crud, you warped, deactivating the web on me.. and I'm not at max speed any more. Fail.
Fleetwarp is an amazing thing. Everyone pointed in the same direction, near everyone, and at max speed...all warp at basically the same time!
It's amazing I know, what happens when you play a multiplayer game with others!
As for your oft repeated "perfectly safe" mantra....explain how. The second a cloaked ship puts itself in a position to influence your game in any way, it is no longer safe. A cloaked ship on grid with you risks getting force-decloaked and popped. A cloaked ship is safer from you, but suffers in many other ways to pay for that safety.
Using this argument, we should be able to force station traders to undock, as they're perfectly safe sitting in station, and impact my game a helluva lot more than some AFk cloakdude sitting in a system I'm working. Don't worry miners, I'm here to help!

Fail
He influences the game by being in a ship, in space, in the same solar system that I am in. |

And shockingly, "basically" is not "exactly". Have you actually ever tried the spider web to mine aligned? I have. Even with fleet warp, someone gets left behind when the ship that was webbing him goes into warp before him.
Makes me think you're just spewing out your stink hole, since you clearly haven't actually done it. |

Station traders are not perfectly safe. They make losing trades ALL the time.
And, sorry, I was shortening the oft' repeated argument for brevity. NO one in EVE is perfectly safe, if they are in a ship in space.... EXCEPT the cloaky camper that doesn't want to be found.
If anyone in a ship in space, is perfectly safe, then EVE isn't EVE, because the only key factor that makes EVE different from other games is that no one (in a ship in space) is every safe from being attacked.... EVER.... except cloaky campers are. |

Yes, CCP. Please give us the answer to AFK cloaking. Make my cloaky ship able to actually engage weapons and EWAR while under cloak, so that I can actually harm defenseless miners while I'm sitting here, as opposed to not harming them at all while AFK cloaked. |

The cloaky ship must be at risk, or EVE is not EVE. THE KEY feature of EVE, I am told, is that no one is safe anywhere. So, the cloaky mechanics means EVE is not EVE.
Cloaky ships are among the most fragile ships in EVE. |

AFK cloakers are not perfectly safe. In order to get to the location where they are going afk they must go through gates. It's remarkably easy to kill a bomber or recon on a gate once you know what you are doing. |

Yes. Make it so we can send in elite DUST troopers into Stations and kill Capsuleers while they sleep! |

In fact, here's an easy trick to pull for you singleplayer EVE folks. Feel free to shoot it down if technically impossible. Figure out all the likely approaches to your belt. Drop drag bubbles. Fill them with trash to decloak. Start mining.
They should just mine from inside the bubble. Since it's apparently a certainty that the AFK cloaker will kill them, and no miner has ever escaped a hot drop in the whole history of EVE, knowing that they don't even have the option of warping away from the word go will free their minds and set them at ease. |

You really don't even have to cloak to interrupt them. Just enter system, and the moment you're in local they go scurrying like roaches when the lights come on. |
