Congratulations, kieron, you Community Manager education is now complete. I can remember Pann saying almost exactly that.

Sorry if this is on topic but I'm curious, just took a look at the listed tribes for Minmatar and besides Sebiestor and Brutor there is Krusual... Why isn't this the tribe that will be added instead of Vherokior?
Also will it be possible to get a blood "transfusion'? and switch? -------------=============------------- *** If you're not flying with Hippies, you're not having FUN!! ***

sorry Kieron, but older players should be able to, if wanted, change bloodlines to a new one at most once when the new bloodlines get released. -------------------

Edited by: Darlan Flame on 12/10/2005 20:14:28 One last thing on the China merging subject. The most awesome option, I think, would be to have a seperate, 3rd shard that has no native players that start there. To get there, you go through the eve gate in each of your respective servers which initiates a server transfer to the 3rd server. Here in this third server, the vast, vast majority would be 0.0, and truly epic wars would take place between the best of the best from the two respective servers.
Back on topic though, I've wanted to be Khanid since forever and finally being able to make one will be totally awesome.

Personally I think adding a Nefantar bloodline would be more interesting then adding another bog standard minmatar line.

Wouldn't it make more since to have the asian Market be the Universe that is on the other side of eve gate. And have the Asian Market have total differnet bloodlines. At least than when the 2 Universes come to geather you can creat to Universes instread of a bunch ot be people appearing out of no where. Maybe I'm not understanding what they are doing. BUt new blood lines are cool I just wonder how the 2 markets will merg....

The Nefantar would be for the Amarr (they are the Amattar) so you could have both ------- Bringer of Squirrelly Wrath - Foaminian Card Cult

Attribute issues. Although I think the devs'll claim identity and consistency issues. Most people only see the name anyways. In fact, I was surprised to see what a few of my fellow MC were when I finally right-clicked on them. One of them had this odd name, I had assumed he was a Civier male or maybe Ni-Kunni male, but turned out to be an Intaki female.
Personally, I'd give a lot to change my *attributes* to Gallente/Gallente, but I'd not give up my Intaki heritage for the world. If I were to have created an Amarr character that I wished I had 6 months after starting this character, I'd have wanted to change to Khanid, though. --
Neat sig, huh? Can you figure out what it says? |

Well the new amarr line is khanid which until the cold war patch were hostile and are still more akin to caldari so having a non-minmatar republic minmatar line wouldnt be so different to what the amarr are getting.

I personally am very satisfied with my bloodline although I do think it is a bad move to add new ones now...the attributes and the look are basically the only differences between them. Unless they have different career paths too?
I made my character with one particular focus - lowest possible charisma, because that means highest amount of everything else. If one of the new bloodlines has a possibility of less than 3 Charisma I'd be amazed.
Generally if you are adding something to the beginning that is not retroactive (basically effects current things as if it had been in place all along), and bloodlines cannot be retroactive, you are making a mistake and many older players will grumble. As they have every right to. I'm not one of them; I'm only a couple months old. But I know what they must be feeling.
CURRENTLY OVERBOOKED. NO NEW JOBS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL THIS NOTIFICATION IS DOWN. |

I think its crap that we can't switch to new bloodlines as well. We've been dedicated players for a while now and we don't get one of the benefits of playing eve because we've been around too long? What happens if I make a new minmatar character of the Vheokior bloodline and switch the portrait? Is that at least allowed? Of course i have to pay for that but still.
It would be nice to have the option to be able to switch bloodlines and I do think the devs should look into a fair way of doing it even if its just a free portrait swap or something.

I agree with the fact that the Nefanter would be a better new bloodline for the Minmatar. Minmatars with Amarr skill training.

Nice bloodlines. Why not add Ammatar too?
On the proposed China server I get an impression that CCP is planning totally different races from Amarr, Gallente, Minmatar and Caldari. The "lost" races of humanity that splintered from EVE. These races are distinct from EVE, with their own ship designs, technologies, tech trees, skills, and so on, modified perhaps to meet the needs of the new market in a totally top to bottom content redesign.
While the new "lost" races of humanity would exist and develop seperately from the races of TQ, they do not exist in a parallel or sharded universe. They simply exist in another part of the galaxy in the same temporal timeline and dimension as the TQ universe, except both have not discovered each other yet and have no knowledge of each other's existance.
Then eventually, along CCP's own pace and timeline, the meta-story would evolve that the EVE TQ races would discover the existance of the lost races. Perhaps through a wormhole or wormholes that would interconnect one part of the galaxy with another. The result would be a clash of civilizations.
The story reminds me a bit of Star Trek where the "known" races are those that live in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, not knowing the existance of the Gamma and Delta Quadrant races. Then wham, comes the Dominion and the Jem'Hadar from the Gamma Quadrant, and the Borg from the Delta Quadrant, and everyone is fighting for their very survival.

More like everyone is fighting for their survival EXCEPT the Borg. They're just trying to assimilate everyone. I guess you can say it's trying to survive but that's like an emperor saying he needs to invade a neighboring country to survive.

Why do people keep asking for more and more free handouts? Your already have your reward for being a dedicated player for a while - a character with 20 million skillpoints. What more do you want?
Being able to start with one of the new bloodlines will be one of the best encouragements for new players to start the game. You can be among the first to play a Khanid, or a Vherokior, and so forth, and everyone who is playing that bloodline is starting "at zero" just like you. For once, being a relatively new player in Eve can be a great thing.
And, of course, no one is stopping you, as an older player, from doing the same. You just have to start a new character. If you want to keep your 20 million skillpoints, though, you will also have to keep playing with your old bloodline. Both options have their good and bads points.
The bottom line is, you can't have the cake *and* eat it.

ha ha, so true!
Will we be able to access and 'play' the China shard outside of Chian, or will it be firewalled against any non-Chinese?
(Just a curious technical point - wouldn't that be deemed discriminatory for a company owned, run and based in a western world; and be liable for the consequences for anything which counters the equal opportunities acts for UK and/or EU?)
