I am a woman driver who plays eve. I'm prefect at slaming my Interon 5 (that really does look like a ***** aka Gaint space *****) into noob ships and frigs. I've been playing eve for about 2 years now. And I challenge any guy out there to doubt I r woman. If so...ok whatever.
Hello Eve-Gals. Hope to chat to you sometime. Look me up if you want..if not thats ok...I understand. No one wants to talk to me *cries*

I think that subconciously maybe some guys are a bit bitter that we had to give women equal rights and let them play in a lot of "male exclusive" areas (like the military or even some Symphonic Orchestras that were traditionally male only).
So when women get to make their own "female exclusive" thing they might feel treated unfairly as we had to learn to play together so they want that to apply there to.
Not that it's really the same thing, but on some emotinal subjects men can often be quite as irrational as women, espeically when the inner child is affected(no offense meant, not all women are irrational emotinally, but I've known quite a few ).
Anyway, personally I think that anything people do to increase their enjoyment of the game without nessecarily decreasing that of others is a good step and I'd think that in a male dominated area like these games are, a female "networking tool" does that.

That maybe so, but this this is only a game so point out to me where in the rules it says that we don't have the right to choose who we do/don't want in our chan?

I don't see what the problem is to be honest with an all girl chat channel or an all girl corp. If the majority of male players didn't act like pre-teen nubs around anyone they thought were a woman then it wouldn't be needed imo. I have female friends who play and sometimes the amount of random spam they get from male players wanting cybar is stupid. So I say go for it. Hide from those nasty male players!

I think having the women of EVE be known is fine on some levels.
What I think will happen IF an ôall women corpö is created and made known to the EVE community. We will have ALL the men corps in EVE - plot, too see who can make it fall first. Sad but true.
There are many women who play this game, more so then most of you even know. There is also a large amount of female characters that are played by men. ôLallante not includedö *trying to pull Lallante out of hiding*
It would be nice to see an all women corporation û but the truth needs to be told here. There is way too much testosterone in the game for a womenÆs corp. to thrive to success. The ômenö in EVE will make it their new goal to crush it.
I appreciate being contacted about this thread, I wish it nothing but luck and if there is anything I can do. Please contact me again.

I've avoided touching this thread so far, but the forum ***** inside me forces my hand.
Usually the notion of minorities grouping together (women are a minority in EVE) sets off little alarm bells in my head, as that usually just leads to increased isolation. Without getting too political, this even happens with Icelandic students in Denmark. There are whole icelandic communities over there, where the people attending Danish university avoid contact with their host nation. Instead they run their own little shops, and only ever interact with each other. And Iceland and Denmark... christ, these two nations are as similar as they get!
But yes. The reason, I think, that past "girl-corporations" didn't work was because they lacked certain skills. When you so severely restrict recruitment, you are drawing members from a much smaller pool of users. The chances of snagging that PoS expert diminish. There is, of course, the chance of training members into roles, but that's hard if you don't already have someone competent. Ever seen two newbies try to teach each other PvP? It takes a damn good while and alot of trial and error. It's basically like being forced to re-invent the wheel.
Also, men masquerading as women. When they get found out and thrown out the door, it puts a little dent in morale.
Anyway, too tired to write anything more. Feel free to flame me now. ---

You said what I didn't dear say for the fear of retribution. EVE is too competetive, too machiavellian to attract women wholesale. The initial hostility of EVE might be more likely to drive off women than men.
Also, you say that the men would "plot, too [sic] see who can make it fall first". I think that's pretty damn normal, imho. You set up a girl corp, restrict it to women only, and you are sending subtle signs of matriarchial superiority which does nothing but antagonise the rest of the population. Also, large groups of women = pure terror for men. Seriously. A man who hears two or more women share a laugh immediately assumes the joke's on him.
If you want to form an all-girl corp, fine. But it would be a better idea to form something like an all-girl chat channel. Talk about periods, drapes and childbirth enough, and even the most dedicated guys masquerading as women will be driven off.
But if you are really set on forming a corporation, advertise it as female-centric, rather than female-only. There is no thrill in sneaking into the girl's bathroom if you are allowed in there already. ---

I'm a real woman, and I must admit that I think you are right, Foyle.
Anyway, I will have a look on this channel. But I will not leave my corp for a women corp because, first, I like it, and second, it's interesting to play with guys too.

Also a RL girl player here and play with quite a few other girls. We're in different corps, but we work together anyway. I'm open to banding together in a channel or whateverr works, but cant ditch my corp (the BF would be sad). Chat me up if you see me around.

I've been on roleplaying games for quite awhile now and I've always played women.
The reactions range from "No way" to "I wanna (insert explicit act here). I routinely get headshots in CS on silly little 13-yos who proclaim their love loudly and proudly on the chat channel. Often the only way I can "prove" that I'm female is by joining a voice comm channel. I'm also a techno geek that built my own computer this past January. You should have seen the look on the technician's face when I brought the computer in for him to take a look at (turns out I didn't plug the CPU in, who knew?). His comment was "This isn't bad for a girl." I took it as a compliment.
Bottom line, whenever a girl is in a male-dominated atmosphere, she has to do three times as well as the average guy just to be considered "good enough." I'm not sure I would even want to be in an all-girl corp, simply because I think *I* have too much testosterone for that. ;)
I would love to join an MMORPG and not get the kind of commentary I do, but I think that's just part and parcel of being a member of a VERY small minority in the gaming community.
Best of luck to you and any other ggs (genuine girls) in this and any other RPG. God gave men two heads but only enough blood to run one. |

Woohoo feel all important getting a mail to see this thread lol
Im female in rl, and personally don't understand the need for a womens only corp, as a gimmick it's great but I'm afraid thats all I could ever see it being. Personally, I don't like being around just a group of women, I have more male friends in rl than I do female friends and have never been one for going out with the girlies. That said I do know a few of the rl girlies ingame, and they are all great people. But for me personally, I am happier with my corp of friends that I am currently with.
As has been said earlier I think it would just handicap a corp to be female only not because we lack any of the skills the men have but the corp would limit itself and lack diversity, but with that said good luck to someone who sets one up and makes it successful. |

Its a very good idea i mean it would kick ass but to make a good corp thrive youll need comon goals and unity. Who is to say that all the women in EvE have the same goals etc. Creating a girls community within EvE by means of a channel and other stuff is a better way to reach the female player base in my opinion. I got a lil curious when i stumbled upon this thread while forum whoring and contacted the girls running the channel. Im now a member and loving it *\o/*
I for one dont mind a bit of testosterone lol and believe me ive got lots of it in my corp /me hides :P and tbh i would never leave my boys <3.
