New module on test(please dont go live!) called Shield Disruptors, which reduces by 100% the shield resistance to that particular modules damage type. Mid slot module, 40 cpu, 5 power 20 cap per second at 20km optimal range. Lol.

are these actually available on the test server?
there has been something similar to this in the database since i first ever looked at the database (about 6months ago i think). afaik, they are just an old outdated idea that never got introduced. if you want proof and ur in the database, go to elite cruisers (i think) and look at the phobos. yup, thats right; its a prototype battlecruiser based on the thorax hull, but pink

U guys should keep cool and having more fun playing eve, instead to ear about possible unbalances that probably we will never see.
1) test server is simply a "test" server.
2) some tests done by ccp, probably will never be seen in tranquility or we will nee it in a contest of major changes on all gameplay so why bother?
Fear unbalances u see in dev blogs, not in a test server. ;)

As for this on test. We have to worry about it because IT IS on the test server. Wether we MIGHT see it or not is irrevelant. They are playing with ideas and if this goes through it totally F**ks Caldari 100%. It's time to nip it in the bud, now. Shield tanking already gets screwed with these shield extender SIG INCREASES and has gotten the shaft many times over. No more!

-100% as a database value mean only 10% as a real ingame value. Still in gangs it might become very powerfull. Say a gang of kestrels where everyone mounts one kinetic distruptor.
But it is going to a bit unfair if there is no equvialent for armor.

I think that we would be better off waiting to find out what the proposed counter measures are before we all start beating CCP to death with this.
Oh and
Infectious Flamebust Light Missle
Releases a cload of nanites on impact that are programed to disolve the thermal coating of starships armor layer. Due to the intense reaction the nanites are short lived but with targeted fire at the impact point massivly reduces the effectivnes or the target vessels armor.

Our missiles can no longer break a pods tank and teh recent invention of the "cadlari lose button" shield disruptors have forced the corperations to surrender the the amarr energy weapon armour tank uberness.
Can all caldari pilots please self destruct their ships and start training amarr ships and fittings.
Coversion to the amarr state religeon is also required.

I wondered why I didn't ever read the ship & module section of the forums... you've made it clear to be 110% again ...thank you... I just detest speculations and whinning 6 months in advance of things that may never be implemented...
and FYI this mod you refer to has been in the database for ever... its an old idea that probably dates back to before Castor...
Now get a grip of yourself... you make us all Caldari asahmed of how you whine like a sissy girl...

If this mod does make it to tranquility it may be the end of the caldari shield tank. Might be CCP's way of telling people to use the other races since the caldari seem to be the most prominent.

Well I would like to see somthing like that ingame, well it will probably **** me up pretty bad but I for one am tired of having them Minmatar assault ships have uber tank vs lasers.
Make a armor version of that module plz... and make it more like 50%-60% of the resistance.

Perhaps it HAS been there for quite some time, take a look at the sig reducing modules, any suggestion that this wont screw caldari is completely ridiculous, they are several times better than target painters. Now if the shield disruptors were just an 'idea' you have to understand their motive for thinking it. I predict everyone will be armor tankers in the future, the ones that do it better will do less damage than the ones that do not.
