So with the bookmark changes, all the new ships, drone changes, and the greifer exploitability of criminal flagging, this expansion is looking more yarrr than baaaa.
But wont someone PLEASE think of the carebears?
Tech2 barges and ice miners, is that all?
We need more! Some suggestions:
New Asteroids, More Mining Skills, Mining implants, all the missing t1 bpos seeded to market and the remaining t2 bpos seeded to agents.
How about Science Implants to aid research or Manufacturing Implants too speed up building or reduce mineral needs more?
What about missions based on exploring and solving something instead of 90% bang bang shoot shoot?
Every patch now just heaps more and more pvp stuff into the game, more things to shoot and more things to help people grief.
Who is incharge of the non-pvp content?

You DO realize that pretty much every patch to this point has nerfed piracy all to hell, right? Throw the a freakin' bone for once. The way the 's feel now is how the 's have felt every patch to this point over the last two years. Not only does this throw pirates a bone, it throws them a big one, because they need one.
EVE = PVP. You can say you don't play PvP, but you do. If you trade, manufacture, mine, haul, NPC-hunt, mission-run, participate in politics, do research, scout, scam, try to flirt with "women" in the all-girl channel, etc. you're PvP'ing just as much as the next pirate, merc, or soldier. It just doesn't involve explosions, at least not directly.
To that end, anything that helps one aspect of PvP has the potential to help the others. Wait until the patch is in place, then try it. If, after a week or two of getting used to it, you still feel you've been screwed, feel free to bartch. The more CCP uses modules to resolve balance issues instead of systemwide rules, the more control CCP will have over how EVE works. CCP, please keep this in mind before swinging the nerfbat. |

Pirates have all the bones they need.
Piracy will rise to stupidly high levels in low sec after these changes. You may think thats a good thing but then when cb's start raising the prices of battleships again to 130mil (remember?) because they cant get nox or iso without being blown to bits - it will be all your own fault.

I don't think you understand a thing.
For one, all ships are getting their hitpoints raised on shields and armor, so how is that good for pirates?
The fact that you post with an alt proves that.

Justa shot in the dark here, but.. last I checked the pirates are flying ships as well.

My point was, sniping, the main 'pirate gank' method won't really work anymore with the new stacking rules...
Same with tanking the sentry.

Enough with this definition junk, you KNOW what he ment. He was refering to ship vs ship pvp and you are sidetracking the issue.
At any rate new mineing skills/implants have been promiced by the devs, And I beleive there is atleast a good chance that they will own up to it, So I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I am confused why you would consider the bookmark changes a plus to pirates. Think about it like this. Now, instead of having to have a complete set of bookmarks from region to region (causing more lag supposedly), you now just click on autopilot. The autopilot can take you 0km to the next stargate so, you would get a near instananeous warp to the next system, thereby decreasing travel time. However, there would be a CHANCE, that you would pop out of warp between 1 and 15 km away from the gate. This means that if you happen to pop out to soon...or too late I guess, for a pirate to kill you, they'd have to have the luck of being in the system in which you just happened to pop out early. Currently, gate campers get kills because there are alot of people who just don't spend the time making bookmarks to do instant jumps. IMO the bookmark changes makes it more difficult on the campers.

it will be a lot more random in itself a good thing id also like to see the aggro timer for campers aggressing (ie pirates kicked up by 10%) so that htey have to be more selective in their targets or shift to corp versus corp wars

I agree with you TOTAL WeLoveYouLongTime.
as always..its just pvp stuff getting into the game...I want not bonus to mining but new ways to do stuff in eve. more bonus to mining only means lower mineral prices..and people are allrdy rich enourgh to pay what stuff costs today.

hey if this patch turns out to be a pirates dream im considering changing my approach to the game going from PVP with a focus on other aspects across to PVP corp wars and perhaps piracy if it proves profitable enough - the random warp in no insta thing is going to remain and for those players not smart enough to adapt its going to be a field day.
Course pirate versus pirate wars also happen so if targets dry up expect more of those to.

CCP did think of the carebears: They didn't remove stabs or nerf the stacking on them.

I'm guessing TomB, but he's been occupied elsewhere
No seriously, they're bringing in all that you were rambling on about actually, well not the new roids maybe. But the rest is coming, and more: - advanced manufacturing - advanced research - contract system - new materials used in new building processes
etc.
The "carebear" side of Eve gets as much attention as anything else, you just only see the stuf you hate happening and ignore the less discussed stuff that CCP did for you so you can whine more. _______________________________________________

Well... I think it's hard to specifically say what is good and what is bad regarding PvE and PvP in RMR.
We have reduced mission rewards, and different bounties on rats in missions. You could say that the drones changes were made for PvP and that they make mission running harder...but with the missions changing, will they really be harder? After all, My Raven gained like 1500 shield HP...and now I can improve my hardeners with skills.
As for the 0km jump...well, there's a whole other thread on that...safe to say that it is NOT between 0 and 15km. Both myself and my CEO have tested a number of jumps, and have had some as far away as 22km.
Al I can say, is that I believe there will be more fights, that last longer, and gank setups won't be so "gank" anymore.
RMR has a lot of changes in it. You could say, that the motto of RMR is: Adapt or Die (and/or quit).
All I hope, is that mission rewards are not nerfed even more...because some of us (me for example) enjoy doing missions as opposed to low/no sec. belt ratting - and L3's were a nice way to make a little ISK - nowhere near as much as the L4's of old.

130mil for a BS!!! More pirates in low sec!!!!!!
Speaking as a BS builder and seller and occasional hunter of pirates this is not such a bad thing.
Trust me, the sky will not fall. We have threads here going back to the start in near chronological order. Read some and realise how not bad things are now.

Yep, I went on the test server last night, and shuttled 30 jumps. I was anything from 0m to 32km in accuracy.

Pirates don't use battleships anymore, they're for agent runners and lowsec miners. -- We are the Octavian Vanguard www.octavianvanguard.net
