Hilmar P+¬tursson: We're releasing the racial variants of the Captain's Quarters this year and that's mainly because we had that work completed. It also includes some optimisations and other fixes. I think the community has spoken loud and clear that they want more classical Eve features to come out, and that's the priority for us. Incarna is there, and we might pick it up at some point later down the line, but the voice of the community is quite clear. People want more spaceships, and more flying in space features. That's very much what we are responding to."
I quite 2 years ago because i was sick of paying for a game where i was considered a spaceship instead of a person. the fanfest LIVE DEMO that i got to play a year before i 1st quit was what made me want to play eve again in the future when it was finish. It's also what made over a dozen of my friends interested in playing eve.
That said the last expansion was a disaster. Not only has factional warfare, PI, and 0.0 sov warfare been ignored, but the feature I waited for THREE YEARS, was a single room, that broke the immersion of docking with stations. And it got rid of my ship spinning.
All that said, the announcement of establishments not even being on the road map anymore, not even for next summer at least, means I will just have to once again, leave for a year or 2 while eve has ANOTHER UNFINISHED FEATURE IN IT
Wether it's in space, or walking features, my issue, and always will be, feature abandonment.
So on one hand, bravo CCP, your winter expansion is going to handle almost everything that lead me to quit in the 1st place. you are finally not forgetting features you put in the game years ago. But if Incarna becomes just another abandoned feature, and next summer is some new random feature, then I'm done with your game full of abandoned content.
And I know I'm not alone in feeling this way. I'm just more vocal. Even if it's only 20-30% of people who feel the same way, thats a good chuck of playerbase. |

See I'm ok with walking in stations being put off untill all current features are finished. I'm just not ok with walking in station being ONE OF THOSE features. So winter would be finishing the in space features that were abandoned. Then the summer would be establishments.
With establishments, in my eyes, eve would be feature complete. Then just years of new spaceships, tech 3-4 junk, and art. Eve would be ****ing perfect. |

I am sure they will release some form of it but let the dust settle on what we are hoping is the most awesome expansion ever.
Who knows with everything fixed they could squeak it by in the Summer or Winter Expansion.
Then we can all fake Drink to how awesome Blasters are. |

True that. This is ramping up to be the best expansion to date. we'll see if they deliver on it. I just don't like seeing anything about abandoning features again. It wasn't just walking in station that got me to quit. it was everything that had to do with feature abandonment. 5th Tech 3 pieces anyone?
Even Trinity isn't finished yet. When Apocrypha was released, a dev said that new nebula were almost finished, and might even make it into the expansion. That was 3 years ago, get on with it CCP, pick a direct "like redo all of eve graphically" and then DO IT. Don't make us wait 4 years for your features to be finished. OMG i can't believe how long ago trinity was and we're not done with it yet O.O
I still remember the dev blog saying planets and asteroids would come very soon after that expansion. |

WiS is put on hold to continue development on the core aspects of the game. Once they get FiS for the better part situated then they will continue working on WiS. Eve has pretty much suffered for the last 2 years because of development of WiS, completing establishments will not make Eve perfect and would not make Eve complete. WiS is fluff, it has no real purpose and is just a RP/Sidegame. It should be put on hold and they made the right decision.
If you came back to Eve because of WiS or joined Eve because of WiS then I don't think Eve was the game for you in the first place.

Nah, keep protests up. That is the way the Spaceship-only crowd got their way... they thing. While truly resources where just lowered all around and they get some bones thrown.
You see, said company, namely CCP advertised WiS as meaningful content for the last 4 years... Perhaps some people believed what they said and thought it might be fun content? |

nope i was part of those protess a large number of people were also pissed becuase releasing one little cage of a room and then the NEX store and pay to win model, and so forth.
People want to be a pilot of a spaceship, but still want to ship spin.
People want to meet face to face in social area, with corp meeting rooms, but still want a fully featured FiS game.
Just because WiS was one of those features that took away from FiS, is ignoring the dozes of other pointless half ass features that have come out in the past 3 years. They should of been polishing everything in the game WHILE making WiS, they had the means, they went a different too robust route.
And I'm glad they aren't just pushing establishments out the door when so many in-space features need attention. But to 100% stop production is EXACTLY what they've done in the past with other features promised to be finished. |

it wasn't the price of NEX items, it was the releasing of nex items without even a word to to the community, Communication was my reason for quiting.
and yes 2 years ago i felt like was waiting for something that ccp constantly used as marketing.
Now I'm saying I'll quit if CCP doesn't live up to the expectations THEY SET to be what WiS should be. I was there 4 years ago in Iceland , i played the live demo of WiS, and that's what i want, I want what was advertised. |

Whilst CCPs behaviour of constantly rushing out unfinished content, promising to iterate laterGäó and then abandoning it entirely is certainly annoying, Incarna is the first expansion where I'd be happy about it being left to rot for at least a couple of years. |

mothermoon seriously..........walking in station while it would be a nice addition to the game is not worth prioritizing over the core basis and reason for the game ie "SPACESHIPS"
in all fairness establishments will end up like most fads fun for a few weeks then ignored.
Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless your from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs. |
