Yep..
Lots of potential here, and i'd like to support the devs on their first game. It's a good start. More needs to be done, but for them to be able to do it, we all need to keep our registrations active.
I'm waiting for the economy to get into full swing, waiting for noew content, etc.. but in the meantime i've got ships to buy, rocks to mine, pirates to pod. =)

It really depends on stuff...
I joined this game because it allows for roleplaying, nowhere does it state that it is a MMORPG atleast not on my European box / manual / game review.
Right now I feel I'm being beached (to use a popular b5 phrase), I reach a certain point in my gaming where I can finally get some rewards for the effort and time I put into this game only to see it being taken away by CCP, this has happened 4 times now and the next patch isn't going to improve things either for players like me who don't have masses of free time to play this game.
I joined for things like the NPC Agent missions, I like to play solo alot and as a result I learned how to roleplay on my own and including other people in my roleplaying as I bump into them. I saw great potential for that in this game but this part of the game is, unfortunately, still bugged and unfinished. I was told the agents would play a big part in the storyline and when I got my first "We are preparing for war" mission I got some new hope that that's going to be fixed soon.
Then there's the whole PvP aspect, I did not join this game to have PvP being forced onto me, like was done last week, I fit it into my game by completely ignoring and boycotting the Venal alliance for what they did to me and as direct result stay tucked away even more in the system people can usually find me in.
I also was looking forward to new items (tech levels) being introduced through the market and bp's through extremely rare and difficult agent missions with various phases with new clues upon completion of a phase, right now that looks really different to me. I wish I was strong enough to take on a Jovian Battleship, but hey what can a single Thorax or Celestis do ?
There's more but allready I'm labeled a whiner, so feel free, flame on... Just try to fit my gaming style into your gaming style when next you see me in a system near you.

i'm not cancelling ... not after a couple of months ... a MMO needs more time to mature ...
but hey if you dont have the patience ..go play something else ... like Shadowbane (then you will experience the pain of a bad MMO) :p

For the record Galen, I don't think you are a whiner. I challenged you to make a post on the galactic summit about your ship loss and you produced a good, well-roleplayed, courageous response.

Venal is a fact of life, it was always going to be the case that marginal pirate "kingdoms" were going to form from regional alliances.

I hate the Bugs, i hate *cough* Customer Service and im not a member of the Pann/Tomb fan club. But I do love the game.

Yes I will be staying. Love the game, almost never experience most of the major bugs people whine about, and im mature enough not to let the fact that someone else got a hi tech item and I didnt bother me.

No, simply because of the amount of camping cheats that make fair play impossible.
All the more annoying as the GMs KNOW about (they told be they were using an exploit!) this but wont even punish the offenders.

And all you that are not renewing (No this isn't one of those "Can I have your stuff" ) look at all the art work you have done on your signatures and all the time and effort you have put into this game. This is a players game, not a game that Verant's Vision(tm) has for you.
So I guess you are all going to SWG, good for you. Cause there is nothing else out there for you coming out. Well maybe something, but Space game wise Eve is the best.

The game has only been released for what... 3 months? The design is still constantly changing, and new things are coming. I will keep my account even though I don't play much lately besides to train skills. I have 2 accounts though, and I might sell one of both eventually, but I'm not sure yet. Either way, I WILL wait just to see what happens with this game. It's not like I don't have the money anyway, and I keep training skills so who cares!? By the time the game gets better, that I have enough time to play more regularly (summer =/= bad time for gaming), my character will have all his skills at level 4 at least, and maybe 2-3 more to level 5...

I have to say seeing the amount of posts this thread has a lot are planning on staying the course.
I of course will be staying with the game, hell as other people have said, it's only been released for 3/4 months now.The game itself is still in it's infancy.
Hopefully the last couple of days with the extra content and events plus the fact that CCP are working to resolve the CTD and bug issues, will get a lot of people to stay.
I love this game, and beleive me it's more stable than most of the other MMOG's and I've played a LOT..
Just my two penneth anyways..

This game is still new and has a long ways to go. I woulnd't quit until it matures a littl more and especially the f;edgling company who created. They have a lot to learn too. Instad of bashing them on there first try give them a chance to figure out whats going on...
I can tell who the people are who talk trash abotu a game when they were stuck in an ibis for a month.

Unless and until there is some other game that approaches Eve on its strong points, then I am in for at least another three months. Most of the bugs either have work-arounds, do not seriously affect my play, or get fixed fairly fast. There is a lot of room for improvement on many aspects of the game. However, the game is still better than the others of the genre that I have tried (Earth & Beyond and SWG).
