Midnighter	Posted - 2005.12.02 00:36:00 - [7] I can solo any level 4 drone mission in a Typhoon. I can do it with artillery as well. Use better tactics. Hit them at a distance and kill as they close. Use a webber if you are fighting close range. Know which spawns do not auto-aggor and use this to position yourself for maximum killage. You have to think and fight smart and hard to do it, but it is easy once you know how.

Level 4s are a large step up from level 3 so you need to think and stratagise as well as just shoot all. And I do them in a geddon with allmost all t1 load out (t2 RCU for 7 megabeams, next skill might fix that). The only ones that might need nerfing are the spider drones that clearly use a MWD in deadspace, or need to drop a gisti T2 AB ... you will see more and more marketing which in turn will bring you more players to torture.

Drone missions I admit make me quit, i hate every thing about them and find no fun in those mission's what so ever. Especially how i have to sit their shooting red + that represent something so small I do however like 5/10 drone complex's with thier strain mother >:-E3 /join Cheeze & Whine Club StooopNurfinMaSig
babyblue	Posted - 2005.12.02 11:13:00 - [15] The first level 4 drone mission I did I lost my apoc and all the lovely T2 fitted on it as well. The problem I had was I didn't know how to do them properly. So I came to the forums and read how others took them on and now they are pretty easy. With a snipe setup all you have to do is get out far enough and they are all dead in seconds apart from the BS drones. So, you just need 1 refit, from snipe to close/medium range in order to complete the mission. Not only that, but you get enough mega/zyd approximately every two drone missions to build another Tier 2 battleship. Thats a pretty nice bonus. No, even though I've lost 200,000,000 ISK worth of kit to one of these missions, I actually quite like doing them now.

I passive tank my Ferox and load up on smartbombs and maybe one tiny turret with iron charges. I take a couple of shots with the turret at each group of drones, making them quite angry. Then they swawm me and I fire off all my smartbombs. Not only is it a very colorful lightshow, I don't have to go anywhere to collect the loot! edit: viable for level 3, not level 4. doh

Mafarrico	Posted - 2005.12.02 18:48:00 - [24] I have yet to try solo SIlent the Informant lvl 4 ù that one i do with a friend in a Raven and still we have to warp out once in a while ù but Drone Harrassment and Infiltrated outpost i solo with ease with on a sniper Tempest, no refiting needed. It really is a matter of tactics and knowing what to shoot and what not and when.

If there was an instant 'loot my mission cans and put it in station X' command, drones missions would be the most sought after. In terms of loot, its the most consistent of all, and more valuable then killing battleships in missions like GE, they die fast when shot at from a distance! Sometimes it takes me a week. I'd kill for an agent that would give me level IV infiltrated outposts all day long!
