This evening saw the racers compete in the Essence region. Here is an outline of the Track:
Starting position: Deninard VIII- Moon 1 - The Scope Development Studio
1. Listbaetanne III - Asteroid Belt 1 2. Vitrauze XI - Asteroid Belt 6 3. Obalyu VI - Asteroid Belt 1 4. Caslemon - Star (sun)
Ending Position: Luminaire VII (Caldari Prime) - Federal Administration Information Center
Essence Race Results 1st - The Gent - Executioner (32mins) 2nd - Masim - Rifter (33mins) 3rd - Hal2 - Daredevil (35mins) 4th - Elsebeth Rhiannon - Rifter (35 mins) 5th - Mordax Ibrium - Inquisitor (45 mins)
Race Casualties: n/a
Summary Essence region saw the introduction of paired competitions to the racing league with great success. While still a short competition this week, it nevertheless proved to be extremely competitive between the league's top competitors, Gradient and Convergent. With The Gent and Masim neck and neck most of the race, and their partners Elsebeth and Hal2 nipping at one anothers heels, the League's newest contender, Mordax Ibrium from Marlowe's Rift, was left to toil in last place against the slippery Serpentis. A stunning, last second upset between the front runners left the Gent in a clear first place position and tying with their rivals for first place in the season standings.
This was a very close race and congrats to all the pilots who participated!
Here is are this week's standings for the GLS Racing League:
1st - Gradient (70pts) 1st - Convergent (70pts) 2nd - Alcatraz Inc. (50pts) 3rd - F.R.E.E. Explorer (20pts) 4th - Caldari Independent Navy Reserve (15pts) 5th - The Artemis Protectorate (10pts) 5th - Marlowe's Rift (10pts)
Season Pot: 17,200,000.00 isk + (corporate shares)
Announcement The GLS Racing League's seventh race is being scheduled for 21:00 GMT on Saturday, March 18th in The Forge region.
Corporations interested in signing up should contact me (Kaleigh Doyle) for more information. We have unlimited positions open and there's always room for more who wish to take part. It's never too late to participate!

Ms. Doyle,
while I still have not been able to free some time and join one of your fine races (damn research is keeping me busy in my lab) I am an avid fan and follower! (Gladly I can watch the GalNet coverage while analyzing blood samples).
I just have a tiny request for the after race coverage. Since many of the pilots starting change from race to race, could you mention the corp the pilots start for in the final race results? That would be so much more informative and would spare me having to look up i.e. who 'The Gent' is flying for...
Thanks and keep up the good work!

Will do Lance! Maybe you can join us for a race sometime. Get one of your pretty assistants to cover for you an hour or two and stop by. There's nothing quite like the adrenaline-induced high of out-running a gatecamp and a system full of pirates in your tech 1 frigate to get you going.
*winks*
Hope you're gonna be here this Saturday Owi! Your team needs you.

Edited by: Kaleigh Doyle on 19/03/2006 15:08:10 This evening saw the racers compete in The Forge region. Here is an outline of the Track:
Starting position: new Caldari II (Matias) - Kaalakiota Corporation Factory
1. Olo II - Asteroid Belt 1 2. Ihakana - Shady Acres (Beacon) 3. Mastakomon XI - Moon 2 4. Akkilen Sun 5. Maila V - Asteroid belt 1 6. Osmon VII - Ice Field 1 7. Tuuriainas IV (Planet)
Ending Position: Mitsolen IV - Moon 9 - Prompt Delivery Storage
The Forge Race Results 1st - Elsebeth Rhiannon [GRD] - Rifter (61 mins) 2nd - Owi [Altz] - Firetail (61 mins) 3rd - The Gent [CNV] - Executioner (63 mins) 4th - Gemini Alpha [CNV] - Executioner (64 mins)
Race Casualties: n/a
Summary The Forge region was an extremely tight matchup between our racers this week, sporting a classic figure eight track pattern. Owi's Republic Firetail proved to be a dominating frigate and the lead competitor to beat, however what seemed like an easy win turned awry as navigation errors led him careening off of gates and long autopilot routes. This allowed Gradient's Elsebeth Rhiannon to secure a reasonable lead over him until the end, when the two crossed the finish line at almost the exact same time. Replay monitors were brought in for the judges and the final verdict favored Ms. Rhiannon as the closest first place winner the league has had to date.
This was a very close race and congrats to all the pilots who participated!
Here is are this week's standings for the GLS Racing League:
1st - Gradient (90pts) 2nd - Convergent (80pts) 3rd - Alcatraz Inc. (60pts) 4th - F.R.E.E. Explorer (20pts) 5th - Caldari Independent Navy Reserve (15pts) 6th - The Artemis Protectorate (10pts) 6th - Marlowe's Rift (10pts)
Season Pot: 17,600,000.00 isk + (corporate shares)
Announcement An announcement will be made later in the day regarding next week's race.

Gratulation to Elsebeth , well raced !
For me this Raceevent was from begin bugged with traps and errors ! It started with the travel into Forge region , a 10 men gate camp from Empirewar corporation tryed to blowd away my MArk V with the Firetail and racin-equiment init. But successfully i managed to arrive the startline and to wp3 i had a few sec on my lead ! First fault i made was not to set the autopilot back to short-routes so i lost like 3 gates and was throwd back to last place . From now on i tryed to concentrat on fast manual jumps and warps . at wp 5-6 i got back to place 3 , but 3 bump off gates and damn 2 wrong warps at last wp was to much faults myself to gave away a victory for ALTZ !
I realy had fun this race , great Event from GLS again ! lookin 4wt to next one in 2 weeks .
Cya there , regards Owi
PS : There is a misstake on the Points, i got 15 points not 10 .. must be 65 now !! pls correct it , cheers

I'm not quite sure how the league works - would my corp be able to enter now? It looks fun :)
If we could enter now, would we be at a big disadvanage because of points?

As a racer who only joined in at the last race (Citadel - where *is* the report for that one?) I would say you're at a bit of a disadvantage, if you want to win for your corp. The guys up front have amassed 90 and 80 points, and each victory grants them 20.
However, somewhere on the rules is said that the league will feature 20 races; you've missed 7, 13 to go. It *is* still possible to win. So I say do join the race! The sooner the better
Best wishes: Kay.

only 1(2) racers are allowed for each race . 2 means you can fly as a pair but only the firster one collect some points.
Join now , more racers wouldt make a win for the 1. corporations on the league harder to take points and also alot more fun on the races :) .
Also there will be hopefull upcomin next seasons after this one if there enough interessted corps/ppl.
The rulez can be found on the first page of this thread.

From what I understand of the rules (on page one of this thread) the Season will be comprised of 20 races. So far, 7 have been run. We're almost at the half-way point, but not quite there yet.

That is worrying Let's wait and see, and hope for the best.

Surely it's not the number of racers. I've looked at the previous races and the number of racers has remained pretty much constant, with the exception of last race.
Technosites and Traumatic showed some interest in the race (don't know how serious they are about it, though) and I can add that at least one other player in my corp has show interest in being by team-mate. I'm guessing we can gather enough pilots for the next race
Honestly the impression I got was that RL was conspiring to get Ms. Doyle away from the racing league. I'm certainly hoping that's all it is. I'm very eager to race again, that's for sure!

Yes - I got back the shares I had donated to the Pot. There was no comment on why. I too feel that something is up - this is bad for business as this was my main plan for advertisement. I have also been steering potential racers in this direction in hopes of beefing up the race. I feel that even if you just win the bragging rights and the one race Pot, then it is an okay thing.
On another note, I did salvage some parts of what appeared to be Kaleigh's ship. A large Battleship of Amarr origin and a suspicious T2 cruiser was in the region. They were camping the entrance to Horkkinsen and Erila where I found the remains... Somehow - I can't help but feel that the general ill flavor of the Eitu Region soured her Gallente soul somehow. Some of the minor corps in that region are real bloodthirsty.
I doubt that Ms Doyles "partner" who recently died helped matters much:
"Kaleigh Doyle Touch me. The luckiest woman in the universe, married to Kerrolyn Prio."
"Kerrolyn Prio was killed when her mortally wounded Thorax, the True Companion, was snared in a decaying orbit over Gonhein III, where it ultimately plummeted to the surface. She is survived by her partner in life, Kaleigh Doyle."
I, of course, sold the salvage to curiousity seekers already. I may find the Gallente stance on Caldari Prime disgusting and inconsiderate, but I have no ill will toward individual Gallente specimens. Corporations and the Governments they support are the true delineation in life. That is what we must focus upon.
So - if this is to be my addition to her remembrance, let me say that "The Betting Community will be poorer for her passing and the end of this Racing League if that is what has occurred - LET US ALL HOPE THAT THIS BETTING OPPORTUNITY IS NOT LOST FOREVER!"
Hopefully Ms Doyle (or a clone with appropriate official records) will appear and settle this issue with a statement.

Edited by: Gyra Rho on 22/04/2006 04:39:38 Due to recent events, the Interstellar Racing Association has chosen me as the Frigate League's event organizer. I'll be the new point of contact for future events, and only some minor changes will be made(see original post for changes to event notification).
Note: Details on The Citadel race seem to be misplaced with the recent transfer of authority but I managed to get some basic information. Also, the IRA felt it financially and legally sound to return all isk donated to the POT outside of the races back to the donators. If you'd like to recontribute the prize money towards this competition, just mail me and I'll add it again.
