The Glamour Syndicate is proud to announce its intentions to form a stellar racing league for capsule corporations, simply known as the GLS Racing League.
Here is a general outline of how the League works:
1. Corporations register for the League, and individuals within the registered corporations fly on its behalf. Any* corporation may register to participate at any time during a season unless banned, though earlier in the season would be reccommended. (*Starter corps are not allowed to register)
2. A season consists of twenty races, done bi-weekly and usually scheduled for Saturdays. At the end of the season, the corporation with the most points will win the grand prize.
3. Each track will be confined to regions and will be announced one week in advance. Participants will be required to traverse low security regions, asteroid belts, and any other celestial objects dictated by the event organizer.
4. Only one member of a corporation may participate in each event and restricted to t1 frigates for league(not including exhibition races) play. Any module is legal. If a racer loses their ship during an event, they may purchase a ship of the same class they registered with to complete the race.
5. Region location and race time start will be announced roughly one week in advance, and participants will be advised to be ready in time for the event, as it will begin promptly. The starting location will be divulged .5 hrs before the event begins, and only those declared racers will be given this information.
6. The racers will start each event docked at a station of the coordinators choosing. The signal to undock and begin the race will begin with the coordinator announcing the starting waypoint. Participants will proceed to the designated waypoint location where a small audit log secure can will be located. The pw will be supplied prior to the starting of the race, and will be identical on all the future cans. Within each can is a bookmark location with the description of the next waypoint on the label. Each participant will take one bookmark and leave the rest. Any tampering with the cans or the bookmarks will result in the expulsion of said participant/corporation from the league.
7. Participants are allowed to utilize whatever means necessary or take any path they are comfortable with in reaching the next waypoint. Weapons fire and destroying other participants is legal. Podding is not, and will result in expulsion.
8.There will be a 1 mil entry fee for the racers at the beginning of each event. The total fees will be divided the following way: 45% 1st place 25% 2nd place 10% 3rd place 10% season pot* 10% race organizers
*The team with the most points at the end of the league will win the total isk accumulated from the season pot.
9. Point total earnings for placement: 1st - 20 2nd - 15 3rd - 10 4th - 5 5th - 3 6th - 2 7th - 1 8th+ - 0
10. Participants are not allowed to shoot their competitors until the race begins, nor are they allowed to call in support from their allies during the race under penalty of expulsion. This includes camping the starting location to kill war targets.
11. Individuals destroyed during the race are required to mail the coordinator the CONCORD killmail after the event, for information purposes. Records will be kept of individual racers participating in this event.

How To Sign Up:
If your corporation would like to participate in this league, please eve-mail me(Kaleigh Doyle) ingame with the name of your corporation and the point of contact or post your corp/contact info on this thread to stay informed race events and general information.
Corporations may sponsor the league or individual corporations during this season if desired, however season pots will not be affected by isk contributed. This excess will be allocated to extraaneous fees or exhibition races that may occurr during the season.
When enough competitors have signed up an announcement will be made of the first race location.
Thank you, xoxo

Oooh, oooh... a race! gets all excited
Question Corps sign up, but will this then be a team or individuals? What I mean is: Does the Corp win points (ie. Jericho Fraction), or are the points based on a per pilot basis (me, Chai)?
Some folks might not always make it (schedule wise) and will not be able to compete if it's on a per pilot basis. On a corp basis, it's up to the corp to field the proper coureur. _

The corporation wins points, and the pilots earn the score on its behalf. So, if you can't make a race, anyone else in the corp may participate in your place.

I'd participate, but it would'nt be fun for the rest as i'd just win all the time . So i'll let the rest have a shot at the prize and title..

Thanks for sparing everyone the humiliation of defeat, Rana!
Just to answer some questions I've been recieving:
To give people an idea of the scale of this League, the minimum League size of ten corporations raises the total pot to 200 million isk, simply for racing in a (t1)combat frigate. The more participants obviously raises this pot for a very nominal level of effort.
There is a varying level of danger in racing these matches, mostly depending on the regions and the waypoints chosen. In many cases, racers will have an opportunity to pursue routes through 0.0 as a means of reaching the next waypoint faster but of course this is an added risk. Waypoints in asteroid belts will obviously add some risk, not only from the regional barons (npcs), but possibly any privateer that happens to be perusing the belt at that time. It may also come from one of your fellow racers as well.
Also, the starting time for the races would probably rest at around 20:00GMT on Saturdays, unless scheduled otherwise.
Questions/Comments are welcome as always, and if anyone is interested in racing feel free to contact me.
Thanks, xoxo

The following corps are confirmed participants in the League: ----- Caldari Independent Navy Convergent ----- ...with a third in confirmation. Realistically, I'd like to have between 5-10 corporations signed on before we announce the first race, so plenty of positions are open now and will continue to remain open throughout the season. If you think you have mettle, accept the challenge and take a chance for isk and glory!
Thank you, xoxo

Plenty of slots remain open for potential teams, any corporation size is eligeable barring the schools(newbie corps).
Thank you, xoxo

That's largely dependent on how quickly we gather the minimum number of corporations to participate in the League. We're currently pushing for Saturday, January 7th at the earliest.

I have a very lucky little frigate which has taken me safely through EVEs most dangerous places and I know it will not let me down in this race. Bring it on!

I'd just like to point out that Friggin' Masters have not entered. This is to allow Convergent to stand a chance of making it past the finish line...
Just kidding, naturally. Good luck to everyone taking part.

Well another option is to start your own corporation. It doesn't take too much, just some paperwork and basic studies in corporate management.
A word of caution to those who may be considering flying exotic craft in these races, keep in mind that whatever ship class you register for in a particular race you must also finish with as well. This means if your delicious Daredevil gets eaten by the Serpentis, or perhaps even another pilot, you'll have to purchase(or have ready) another Daredevil to complete the race.
However, if you have no intention of losing it then by all means go for it!
And as always we have room for corporations willing to participate in the League.
Thanks, xoxo

Well, if these two are joining, I see no cause why the Gallente in their fine ships should not do so. And I am really looking forward to shoot them down before they reach the finishing line .
I still have to get an official 'YES' but I think the Coreli Corporation should be interested in joining...

That's not a claw, that's the slasher class. You can tell from the underside of the 'wings' where there aren't added rocket bays but inflight sensors later positioned elsewhere on the claw.
Honestly, some people just know nothing about the ships they fly... ~~~~~
