Quote: I have been playing for over a year now so I just about over my no0b period!!
Don't bet on it! One thing about this game is that there's always going to be something to catch you out, if only because of the regular patches that come along and change things. I've been playing for almost 2 years now, and I'm pretty familiar with most aspects of Eve, yet I'm still capable of acting like a complete noob.
My most recent act of noobishness was not knowing that an Arbitrator is a drone carrier. You know, it is such an unpopular ship that I'd never really seen all that many of them around. I saw one, saw that it was some crappy cruiser and engaged it in my Wolf. As I was saying, "Ah right, it's a drone ship then!" I died, laughing at my stupidity.

Edited by: Lisa Run on 12/12/2005 14:44:34 Hmm, nub behaviour never seems to stop.
Last week I was trying to catch someone at a gate. I targetted him, but he jumped through. Somehow I managed to fire a missile at the gate in the same second I clicked jump, so I hit the gate for xx damage and was somehow not aggressed Luck of a fool I guess. So I followed through the gate and as if that wasn't enough, I misclicked on the other side, scrambeled the gate and the guy escaped. Should have made a vid how not to pvp !

I am stil a N00b
But i remember fitting:
1 shield booster, 1 Armor repairer and 1 hull repairer on the same ship
Soon i realized that my n00b ship could barely keep up with one of them at the same time.

"When I were a lad, we 'ad to get oop, an hour before downtime, an' lick t' 'angar clen with oor tongues before mining at t' face for twenty-three hours, and we got 'un ISK and a whipping, and we were lucky, By Gum."
erm, well, my biggest mistake was creating a character and going "coo! caldari E-Warfare? I'll have some of that! it'll really help out jamming the guristas".
Took me about 3-4 months (training e-war skills all the time) of fighting gurista lvl2 and lvl3 agents in a blackbird (or two) to learn that at that time, electronic warfare did'nt effect the NPC rats *at all*.
what a muppet I was.

That is a good point, although I don't think yours is too bad as it can be taken to be ironic given your corp.
Some people saddle themselves with absolutely godawful names that you have to wonder what they were thinking.
Just for reference:
1. Pick something that at least vaguely fits with a sci-fi world
2. Pick something that people can more or less pronounce, even after several beers
3. Pick something that abbreviates, preferably to around 3 letters for easy typing in gang chat - I lucked out with 'Wan.'
4. Don't use aLtCaPs or numb3r5 instead of letters. It looks crap and people will think less of you.

Trained interceptors and all related skills to 5 before considering a cruiser, because i thought that i'd be the greatest frig pilot ever. Wondered why i made no isk at all. Took me a year.
Took me 2 weeks to train for the bs....

-Trained for medium turrets and was all impatient to fit that 720mm howitzer on my Rifter. Then I learned about powergrid. -Did some ore thieving -Bought a skill book to further train a skill I already had -Until I bought said skill book, I did not train any skill whatsoever, so I pretty much wasted 1-2 days

Had my Megathron in my first month of playing, then decided to take it for a stroll outside and realized I could barely fit frigate sized guns onto the thing and proceeded to outfit it for mining instead. ;p It still sits in my home station with 7 mining lasers on it, just waiting for my skills to finish training. -----------
