I'm fairly new to EVE. Just 15 days into the game i experienced patching to Cold War and that was troublesome to be honest. Still, during the following days it went better and better. In other words, stop whinning people, you cannot judge RMR during its first days of deployment (there's a thread "let's accept rmr failled" ffs).
Having said that, I DO believe that ccp should maybe try a it harder and fix most problems soon, so we can enjoy the new content during the weekend.
As for compensation? Well, 2-3 days would amount to 1-2 Ç for each one, but i guess CCP could extend all registrations for 2-3 as a gesture of goodwill, especially for those ppl that find that amount significant (I'm not one of them, but I can respect that).
Anyways, I hate my 50m3 drone bay Thorax, but I like most of the new features I've managed to see, so fix the server and let us explore this new EVE

Not a bug report as such, mainly because I dont have the information. When i first started playing i managed to get two skills being trained at the same time. I wasnt aware you can only have one and the character has now been deleted.
Basically my character was on that very stage of finishing training to the next lvl. Then i crashed. I logged back in and trained another skill. It now said two skills were training. Which they were.
Poor information I know but hopefully you could look into. Im also kinda aware this is the wrong place to post it

I cant play my 2 accts together anymore due to cpu and memory issues now. If CCP gave out a GB of ram with the patch I might not be so unhappy

Go to map - select to show all pilots in space, zoom so you can aproximately see 90% of galaxy, press ctrl+tab to hide windows... After that it is impossible to do anything, excepting moving the mouse on the screen, and also it is not freezed. My task manager says it's still running as normal. _________________________________

Going to put this here in case someone keeps a running tally of new issues reported:
In space, I used to see nearby asteroid icons in the general dispaly (not overview). This no longer happens even if I:
1. Add Asteroid Belts to overview. 2. Hold down (right) alt.
Previous behavior where belts around the current planet showed in the general display vastly preferred.

Couple of bugs:
1. Jumping suffers from noticable lag. Local channel takes quite a while to update and switch to current system. Lag is on a similar level to a moderate sized fleet movement
2. Directx - glitches appearing on display, usually near jump gates. May account for a lot of the CTD's people are complaining of.

Edited by: Cobalt Gris on 16/12/2005 21:42:01 Here's another great addition to the game.
If your hull is damaged past a certain point and you dock, you can't leave (as your ship is too damaged to use) considering how much it costs to repair the hull of a BS and considering I need those mid-slots to fight, not hold a hull repairer everywhere I go, I think this should be changed back to the old system. The not being able to undock with a broken ship might be realistic, but flying through planets is not so throw me a freakin' bone here!
Please?

This liitle gem was already in the game. I ran into it myself about a month ago. It truly suck when you are docked at a station with no repair facilities. However, there is hope. I slapped a bunch of inertial stabs and other mods on my ship to help with the structural situation. After some various tries I got a set up that made my hull secure enough that the game let me undock. I was the able to fly to a where repairs could be done. (Although I just grabbed a hull repairer at that station and fixed it myself)

Does anyone know the answer to this question.
When I try to buy anything off the market I just get a blank buy window. I have cleared everything from my cache except the Settings folder and prefs.ini, and following on from another suggestion I even deleted the pc.dat file in the settings folder. What do I need to do so that I can actually buy stuff?

Bug / strange behaviour report:-
In a station, zoom out from your ship (beyond an as yet undetermined distance) and right click, for instance to open your cargo hold, and nothing happens at all.
Zoom in closer (again an undetermined distance, but close is good <g>) and right clicking works.

Logging in wasnt too fun, but i set all my graphics settings to their lowest and turned off any extras. Turned off my sound.
Not a single disconnect or problem since (other than the fact it looks a little crappy)

I am going to train my large mining barge and come back next week.
This is, by far my main complaint. Even immediately after the patch when you could do anything you wanted with little to no lag, anything involving being in a station took forever. The market window especially is extremely bugged - just play around with it for 3 minutes and see how many times you can get it to mess up or act in an odd fashion.
Selecting all the items in your hangar and then right clicking on them has a delay of about 45 seconds until the RMB menu pops up. During this time frame, FPS drops as well, so it can only be assumed that its recursively going through every single item to see if there's any deviation in the menus - that's ridiculous. Just use whatever item is currently moused over, as that seemed to work fine before.
Back to the market window, it will remember which individual "greyboxes" you selected, such as afterburners, microwarpdrives, etc. and automatically expand those every time you visit its parent. It makes navigating the market a tremendous pain, much more so than it should be. On the upside, the checkbox for available items responds much faster than before.
Damage controls being activated is quite weird - if it only uses 1 energy, just make it passive. There's no point unless you get totally drained of cap, in which case the resists won't save you from the guys trying to kill you.
The Science & Industry tab is really funky. It will allow you to select stations that the currently selected blueprint isn't in, and try to start a run there. Just restrict the number of stations to the station that particular blueprint is in, eh? It's not like we can magically transport our blueprints around, so I can't even see the benefit of selecting a station.
Sell orders are bugged, if you haven't noticed. I currently have a total of -2/13 orders available as I have put 15 items on the market since the patch. I don't mind or anything, but it's a tremendous exploit that still isn't patched.
Switching ships doesn't work at all during lag now. If I switch from a cruiser to a frigate, my frigate shows up with a bunch of cruiser guns on it, and if I select it and open its cargo hold, I see my cruiser's cargo hold. While seeing guns a quarter the size of my ship plastered all over a frigate is pretty neat, it's also really frustrating.
The mission problems were touched on in another thread - 100k for fighting waves of enemies? It doesn't matter if you determine the reward based on the average amount of time it takes to complete the mission or not (not to mention that this hurts soloers when people can plow through missions with friends in fractions of the tmie). Give missions a base payout, at least for the new ones, and then see how it goes.
I can't help but wonder why the new shield resist skills have so many more prerequisites ... to train the new shield resist skills, I have to train Engineering to IV, then Tactical Shield Manipulation to IV, and THEN I can train the skills. Shield tanking was already heavily gimped in previous patches - making armor tankers only have to train one skil to IV is really, really, unfair to those Caldari people who already have to rely on the questionable ability of missiles to blow stuff up on most of their ships anymore, especially without the 5 or 6 individual missile skills trained, as opposed to the two-three skills you need to make guns work well. Caldari definetly needs some love lately, as they've been getting kicked in the face a lot lately, especially the new players.
I'd write more but I only have 200 characters left so I'll give the soapbox to someone else. |

Also, when using stargates, the trail behind your ship remains even though you "cloak" or whatever after jumping. It's pretty hilarious with instas as your trail is about 15 kilometers long and just doesn't go away. Just a graphical bug but whatever.

Before the patch i was logged off in space at a safe spot. I logon today and try to warp and get:
2005.12.16 22:07:58 You cannot do that because you have somehow overloaded your drone bay. It fits 75.00 units but somehow 85.00 has been squeezed in.
Can some one tow me?

- Monster bubbles in the map, hides everything, especially in empire.
- logon indicator stays at red if you login after your "friend". (even if you are in the same system and even if you joined his gang ...)
- No cloaking/decloaking sound for you or others around you when you cloak/decloak.
- belts have most the time no indicators in space and once you see the indicators in space and you warp to a new planet you don't see the indicator of the new belts but still the indicators of the old belts even if the 20 AU away. The belt indicator show up after you open and close the map btw. but only for the nearest planet. When you warp to a new planet you again see no belt indicator in space.
- Opening people&places first time after client-start takes 1 Minute and 30 Seconds or more. Opening it after the first time takes about 6 seconds.
- Viewing "employment history" for the first time takes like 10-20 seconds.
- Considerable fps drop specially when fighting new npc types. (50% less fps)

You have to launch some drones and scoop them into your cargo hold. Then you can move again.
