Edited by: Khatred on 16/12/2005 08:33:33 It indeed appears that when docked on 2 accounts on the same computer my temperature now rises @ 73C. Before it was 45.

The thing that annoys me most is the fact that you get agression flags from killing rats. Even worse, you get an agression flag when a rat attacks you. So, if you're peacefully mining in a .8 sector and get attacked by insignificant nobodies, you get an agression flag and any player can kill you without repercussions. Bug or feature?

I appear to have lost my Mass Production skill lvl 5. now only showing as trained to lvl 4. definatly had it as I was using 5 factorys flat out to produce Ammo etc, and when I looked at new Industry skills "WoOt", new Advanced Mass Production skill. But now i gotta train mass prod to lvl 5 AGAIN, taking 9 days+, before i can use it. please please can I have it back.
Otherwise, sweet patch, screens load noticably faster, and If you change the font setting in the graphics page theyre great :)

Research facilities do not show you a quote, then sting you for 2m+ when installing blueprints. - edit - they do its just corrupted and difficult to see because the windows go into random positions.
Also, you can go through the whole palaver of trying to install a blueprint, only to be told at the end that it is a copy so you can't.

1. dronespace is halved, drone firepower is doubled... but no fix for the mining drones??
2. research on left button cross station.. ok, nice, but dont put a research button on every station on the right panel if there isnt any! very confusing.
happy to see game back online though!

Is it just me or cap recharge during warp works not the same way as before? Warping shuttle on autopilot through a large (150AU+) system took like 15 warps.

Regarding fonts - yes they sucks big time, got problems to focus after 1-2h so again, PLEASE as i posted last patch with same problem then, let US decide what font we want to use, more settings so WE can decide how WE want it, some ppl run on small screens with low/high res, some run with big screens and with high/low res, you cant cover all that with your font.
We pay for this game, but gee, cant we decide what font we work best with ? One font hardly covers all ppls needs.
And, fix the Freighter buildings in empire..

My issues with RMR.
1. So much lag and FPS drops
Everytime i launch drones, change font sizes, right-click stuff, fight rats, i get lag and my fps drops to 6 and below. This never happened in cold war unless the server was about to die again.
2. Chat doesnt display right.
The messages seem to want to only display on the left side of the window. Kind of like having the borders messed up.
Lag is the biggest problem next is the FPS drop. I hope it gets better in the days to come.

The font is not good. On my LCD at 1280x1024 it didn't give me a headache but it's unclear.
The game feels a bit laggy but that was 8am UK time so probably lots of people playing with it. Didn't manage to do anything else. -- (Battle hardened miner)

This is not an rmr problem. You need to go to the known issues forum section

I'll add my 2 cents on the font issue since that's all I really have a problem with.
The font characters themselves are pretty good. The kerning (selective letterspacing) and tracking (overall letterspacing) are the big problems from my perspective. Something that I mentioned when I saw it on Singularity. I suggest hiring a typographer or graphic designer with type background to help you with this issue. Or if you already have one, let this be a learning experience.
Now a few people seem to be fine with the new font, but alot are having trouble discerning the characters. Isn't there some moderately easy implementation to let people modify text options such as letterspacing and size (not just small, normal, large)? Anyway, good job on RMR overall CCP. Hope you can find some way to sort this. After all, the text is the primary means of getting the information that players need and if they're having a hard time, the game isn't as fun if at all.

Has anyone stopped to consider the number of pods that will be lost due to this new horrid font, when those ransoms don't show up quickly enough or incorrect ransoms are paid? (User is trying to decipher ransom or misread the ransom amount)
I must also agree with the endless posts here regarding the font. It's not readable at a quick glance. If you stare at the text for a bit, yes, it's perfectly legible. But I don't want to spend (what seems like) 70% of my time trying to read this new font. :(

New stacking formula coding logic (bonuses and negatives on same stack, with bonuses checked first and stacking penalty applied to whole stack) completely breaks sensor damps and tracking disrupters. Gallete and Amarr EW ships are useless until this is fixed.
See this thread for details and discussion.

I had 4 days left on my skill when deployment started, think that was a bit optimistic? __________________________________________________

Sensor damp / tracking disruptor problems
1. The new stacking penalty prevents more than 4 modules having any real affect. I havent seen the exact percentage reduction per extra module as yet but for the sake of this explanation i will asign some values. Slot 1: 100% effect (as listed values) Slot 2: 50% effect (a half of listed values) Slot 3: 30% effect (a third of listed values) Slot 4: 20% effect (a fifth of listed values) Beyond this the effect gets negligable, and pointless to use.
2. The fact that sensor boosters and dampers affect the same stats (targeting range and signature resolution)
3. The fact that the new stacking penalties are graded and sorted by the effect they have, from higest modifier to lowest.
Sensor boosters are a higher multiplier (1.6x) than damps (0.52x) and consequently get priority on slot 1 then 2 and so on.
4. The fact that a sensor booster has further positive effects on a ship than just neutralizing a specific type of EW.
unlike ECM / ECCM sensor boosters are usefull when there is no ew in use, meaning that they will be (and are) much more widespread than eccm.
What is the result of this?
if the target ship has no sensor boosters, 4 dampers will work as usuall (the first receiving the full modifier (slot 1), the second a reduced modifier (slot 2), and so on.
if the target ship has one booster, then only 3 dampers will have any effect (due to them both effecting the same stat and only 4 effective slots being available per stat). Also, the first damper will be in slot 2 and only providing half the listed bonus due to the grading system of highest to lowest, the booster would occupy slot1 with no reduced effects). Damper 2 and 3 will be the equivilent of 3 and 4 in a no booster setup.
2 booster setups will only allow a maximum of 2 dampers to effect the target, and due to grading the boosters will be in slot 1 and 2 (as listed bonus and half bonus), while the damps will be in slots 3 and 4 basically giving the 2 boosters 150% of listed bonus vs the 2 damps providing only 50% of listed bonus for using the same number of modules.
and so it continues upto 4 boosters, when damps will have no real effect at all because all 4 slots have been used.
Solution?
Positive and negative effects need to stack seperately, probably with the positive values applied to base ship stat, and then the stacked modifier for negative effects applied after. Some tweaking of the damp / boost amount might be needed to account for the change.
This will mean that boosters are an effective counter to damps and at the same time, ensure that damps are actually useable.

My opinions on the new font:
- I don't like it but from the comments I read I was expecting something worst. On the chat I don't mind it too much (I use it small and with medium spacing) but I still liked the previous one better and the original one more than the previous version.
- What instead I really dislike is the capitalized version of the font. In particular on the right click menu and on the titles of the windows.

I dont know if this is the correct thread for this, but here goes.
The skill "mining upgrades" cannot be found. Is there a reason for this not beeing seeded by NPCs, or is it a glitch?

Edited by: babyblue on 16/12/2005 10:08:05 I'm not usually one to complain about anything (haha!), but I have to agree with previous posters. I just fired up Eve to see what gives and the font is bloody awful. I cannot believe anyone with eyesight could have chosen it over any of the myriad available alternatives. btw: I run at 1280x1024, not 2048x2048 .
Oh, and the new character sheet is excellent .

Issue with researching non-researched BPOs from Corp hangars
It appears that if you try and research a previously non-researched BPO (one that is still packaged) that is in a corp hangar, you need a different set of permissions than if the BPO has been previously researched. The error reads something along the line of that you need 'take' permissions - the hangar is read only but I can still research and use non-packaged BPOs normally.
I tried this with a number of Corp BPOs that I have access to and cannot research 'packaged' BPOs. Possibly some kind of bug?
Other than that, like the patch. Cheers

Sorry that this is a bit rubbish, and not quite as obsessive as complaining about the new font (it's a font!), but.......the item database on this website hasn't been updated yet - any idea when it might be?
