im currently working a alt up to get RP and so far shes got 35 RP together from a lvl 1 -18 agent, it isnt much as you can see.
if i had the skills could i just jump her to a lvl 4 agent straight away??

You need standings to use the agents + the skills required of course.
In most cases its about do missions, LOTS of missions to get that standing with the r&d agents corp.

I personally like the lottery system. Of course I am biasd because I was a winner. But apart from that, I like the way that EVE isn't a grind! Eve seems to have a lot of older players who have jobs and I think maturity of the player base is inpart due to the fact that you cannot grind your way through eve as much as other games.
I understand that some people would like to be able to put in more effort in return for a greater chance of getting a BPO but that would mean less chance for those that cannot play 24/7.

-show info on current agent
-show info on corp of agent
-select agents tab
-browse down to R&D agents
-list will show all that you can use
-for those that you cannot yet use if you show info then it will tell you the requirements for accessing them.
I would recommend that you keep on agent running until you can use at least level III. Use the connections skill.

I have two Level 4 agents working on Rocket science since the day Level 4's where introduced. Dec of 2004... i have a level 3 Rocket science from may 2004 I did not get any launcher tech II soo I hope to get some missles!!! I have a Plasma agent from the day R&D and tech started back in 2003 dec. Still nothing from him ???

When I heard the word Auction, I thought okay, some great lumbering corp with 1/2 trillion ISK can bid up and win everything, but if it's RP's on a single player basis, then thats a little different. edit: Just in case it wasn't clear. Anyone in a corp or alliance should be able to add points to the group fund. Those same players could also compete in the single player auctions, but they'd might have less rp's available than usual due to their group donations.

I thought I'd have a good chance with 14k rp, but now that I found out there are people with up to 1 million rp, i'm feeing frustrated again. More even because sometimes the giveout doesnt seem fair. There are people that have half a dozen bpo's and many more that have not won any. I feel that the chance of someone winning again should be decreased, at least for some time. If he wins again, the chance should again be decreased... That way some don't get all the goodies while some don't get any.

I have my suspicions about the whole "lottery" system too...
Seems there are alot of ppl with over 400k rp's that turn up empty handed time and time again...
Lets hope the rp auction method works a bit better.

While i applaude his godlike luck, I too would like to see a little more "weight" in the award calculations. I belive in random acts of the unbeliveable, I just don't have any first hand knowledge...

I agree, it is rather godlike. If CCP are using the SQL server random function, it is also not random at all, but knowable a-priori (provided we know the seed).
By the way, I would rather stand with 1,000 sheep than fall with a single lion. Especially in this rather cold weather.

a guy in a friendly corp that got the XLshield booster had 110 RP was a noob and only 1 week in the corp (now the corp is a bilioner)

Winners already have their probability of winning again reduced as their RPs are removed from that agent. Having some kind of luck equalisation factor is clearly nuts - what kind of nanny state do you live in ;) |

People on here with their 7th t2 bpo, this is just ridiculous. People who already have t2 bpo's keep getting more and people without any don't get one from the lottery. Take NAGA corp for example, i bet they got 3 or 4 t2 bpo's at least today on top of the dozens they already own. |

A lot of naga's blueprints are not owned by naga. They had the forsight to offer a great deal to those that were unable to build from there own bpos. They are fair, honest and have built up a great reputation. That is why they are rich, nothing to do with the lottery.
