I hope your wrong.
after going home and looking, if you have a rocket science ra, then you have a high chance of getting a T2 BPO. quite a few different ones being given out through them. If your like me and bet on nanite and molecular engineering, we almost have no chance. *sighs* And I didn't see any giving out Cargo Expander 2 BPO's so they didn't make it in this patch, like it was stated in a Q&A session a while back.

Let us all gather around and pray that we win the BPO lottery. Let us all pray to the gods of CCP, Hammer, Oveur, Tux, Kieron, And all of the lesser GM deieties. Let us pray that wayward BPO's find their ways into the hands of the deserving, and let us pray that each and every person gets what they deserve,
Amen

Well the nice thing about the lottery is that everyone has a chance to win, choosing a non-popular research field increases your chances to win by much more then doing missions though.

Edited by: Tomas Nuerin on 21/12/2005 08:29:25 I can see my future. I'm going for two weeks vacation (sunny Brazil, here I come ) in january. After I come back I have mail waiting from my R&D agent. But quess what. The breakdown (Wrath or Cataclysm Precision Cruise Missile) was in my first week of vacation and BPO has already been seeded again.
I hate that already

I sometimes wonder just how BPO's get offered to characters that are no longer played or looked at. Then I start hoping that non paid accts stop accumulating RP's and aren't eligible for the lottery. It would really suck if a BPO could be offered to such characters, and that they sit on that char for a week, before being offered to yet another old character. etc.

Do you know what its like getting stuff for your agent every SINGLE day for the last couple of years and having nothing to show for it except being a couple of hundred million poorer than before?
If nothing else ccp, please make reserach agents offer 100run t2 bpc's for lps so we dont feel like crap after every patch when we get nothing for our efforts.

Edited by: Imhotep Khem on 21/12/2005 18:59:21 How do you know when they are seeded? My agent claims to posses Huginn, Rapier, Sleipnir, and Claymore and Sabre blueprints though I dont study that particular field of his.
Does that mean they are seeded?
Also correct me if Im wrong but doesent it seem like the highly valuable BPOs are given out in small numbers, but the cheap ones like T2 tracking enhancer are given out in high numbers? ____ If your not dyin' your not tryin'. |

I've been told many a time that the devs have stated there are 20 of each T2 BPO released since they started it. Is this true, I bet it is, since you can't really tell whats valuable or not before its released. Cap Recharger 2 is a good example of that.

One alt character with about 22m skillpoints and 5 R&D agents here. Only L2 though because I hate running missions (boring!!!).
But I've won twice on the lottery with two small T2 laser BPO's. Both from the same agent a week apart. My other four agents sit around playing cards and do no work.
Being only T2 R&D agents I don't expect much out of them. Currently have these:
Hydromagnetic Physics - 13,000 pts Laser Physics - 29,500 pts Laser Physics - 22,000 pts Amarrian Starship - 45,800 pts Amarrian Starship - 42,500 pts
The T2 lasers I won were off the same agent a week apart (first time about 11k points, second time about 300 points). I can't figure it out.
I'm not a big lottery fan despite having won. I agree the game should be based on teamwork and wealth should come from work. The lottery is like a cash machine that doesn't require an atm card. I just don't like it.
I once proposed a detailed way to do research (create scientist careers). Use research slots to put in items in experiments. Each experiment would give you a "key" if successful (but many would fail). Get enough keys and put in lab and maybe have a breakthru.... or lose the keys and fail. Just like real science. I tied this in with an Explorer career. The items you put in the lab first could be rare items found in deep space, so explorers could make discoveries and sell them to the scientists, it was a grand plan that made research science based and not agent whoring based.
I'd just like to know the lottery is real. Hearing people who have 500,000 R&D points and having never won anything is sad. Yet seeing myself with 300 points win something is happy. Mixed emotions about an imperfect system.
But its what we have so make the best of it. I'll be praying tonight for a BPO to help Amarr!

Edited by: Wrayeth on 22/12/2005 04:04:33 I originally picked up a rocket science agent when CCP announced tech II siege were going to be released, in hopes of getting a BPO. I didn't really expect to get one, since I only had two weeks of research points when they were released, and I was quite correct - I didn't receive one in the original dispersal of tech II siege BPOs.
However, yesterday morning I received an offer from my agent for the exact thing I'd been looking for - a shiny new tech II siege BPO. I only had 10k research points in rocket science by that point (80rp/day from the best level 4 Lai Dai research agent in the game), but it was enough.
Thanks, CCP! -Wrayeth

well the people whith multiple BPO's started early and were in non-ship feilds, So that helps explain it a little. But christ, I mean seriously, For the average run-of-the-mill caldari starship researcher like myself who can't afford multiple accounts, even with 400k RP, the chances are absolutly infintesenimally small.

Well no... cant be. I mean. ther are SO many people out there that started r/d right as that came out, have multiple agents and crazy amounts of rp¦s not in the overvrowded fields and still the lottery hand the bpo¦s ever and ever again to the same people/agents..... hers somthing realy realy wrong

Starship engineering is horrifically over subscribed.
Between the 3x rps yield, and the fact that they're they're where all the really really good BPOs show up, means a lot of people use agents there.
More rps in the lottery, mean that each individual one has less of a chance of winning.
If you have 5 projects, each _not_ in starship engineering, your odds of a blueprint showing up are notably higher.
*shrug* random distribution doesn't mean even distribution. If anything, the opposite. -- Lyrus Associates is recruiting |

Then again having 7 different fields for ages and nothing is realy frustrating.. even more if you see people geting multiply bpo¦s for 1/10 what you ahve in research points.
