EVE Search - [RMR] Raven PVE and PVP Setups

Looking at the Raven because I've heard many good things about it. I'm not to keen on Raven setups really. All I know is that most people fit 6x Cruise in highs and depending on application change meds between distributed tank and just using Invuln Fields. Am looking for input on both a PVE setup for complexes/missions (Lv 3's/4's. Have yet to try soloing a 4) and also a PVP setup to deal with annoying war mongers that dec on us. Would be greatly appreciated to get some input. Thanks in advance.

For those that think a Tempest is a great BS instead, please convinc him to get that :D Im trying to get him to buy my Tempest BPC off of me since i have a spare :D all help would be appreciated

Cruise missiles can't hit fast frigates to save themselves, which is why people are crying about losing Ravens in level 3 missions. I fit five cruise, two assault launchers, and a smartbomb. Takes care of the long range, the medium to short range, and the very short range. Raven's chief ability is to sit out at 120km or so and snipe everything. You'll need a sensor booster. Other than that, the Raven has huge shields, which can be easily augmented with hardeners / boosters / extenders etc. Raven is not an armor tanker. An afterburner or MWD is crucial to be able to place yourself at sniping range. Low slots are best used for BCU's and PDU's. Hope this helps.

That aside, the frigs don't hurt that badly so you can just tank them and kill all the battleships with torps, then mop up. For this you need a sustainable tank though, which the raven runs into issues with. There're some good setups but ehn...tbh the Raven requires 2-3mil in missiles to be even OK, and BS 4. I personally fit : 6 siege Limos or zw (are cheap now) 1 medium or heavy nos or 1 large smartbomb if i am facing drones (Smartbomb is useless if you facing frigs they rarely come closer to 5000 where is the smartbomb range) ab 100 mn T2 large shield extender T2 xl shield booster sensor booster boost amplifiers and a hardener or what else 3pdu T2 2 ballistics ( or change with 1-2 warp stabs if mission requires that

My setup is: 2pdus and 3 BCU's T2 100 nm t2 afterburner (nice thing to have) 2kin+1thermal, large t2 shield booster + amp 6 zw sieges and 1 Heavy Diminishing Nos (soon will use t2 torps) with this setup i can tank against 0.0 belt rats for ages, with nos active shield booster runs almost indefinetely and i can hit around 800 damage against structure with rof of 10 secs...all my missile skills r lvl4... having no problems with frigs...5 t2 med drones or 3 heavys do the job nicely....

The key to doing agents in a raven is to have decent drone skills (tech II pref) and them deal with all the small stuff. The Raven has always been the best PVE bs even after the missile nerf.
