I've been logging into sisi every day for the last 2 weeks, so my build was up-to-date. I had absolutely 0 issues updating to the new build. downloaded ~850MB, installed properly the first time using the normal launcher. Had to wait for the client to acquire 122 items of bulk data.
Once this was all done, I logged in was testing new doctrines features instantly.
Now for da bugs, and boy are there a lot.
Medium guns are broken. All ammo counts are decremented at the number of guns in the group, rather than by 1. Auto reload is broken. Flat out doesn't work. Tried cycling off and on again. No change. Manual reload works fine. Over heat is broken. Overheated modules still generate heat even when not cycling. I overheated a rack without turning anything on, had 50% heat before I even noticed. Nothing took any damage though. Someone stated on the singularity channel that the jump gate animation is broken. However I didn't try that myself. Everything was really slow, though that may have just been server load due to all the people checking out the new toys.
On the plus side, some of those HACs look really sweet now. Can't wait to try them on TQ.
Much of what you mentioned is currently being addressed. It's going to take time to fix, though. I didn't know about the overheat, though.

In the event they turn the login queue back on you can avoid the client dropping you while you are waiting in line by using the old in client login screen by launching exefile after you are fully patched.
Note: If you are a steam user (which is unlikely since I think steam SSO came out after the last mirror) you can't use this. |

Are you guys really using a custom source control system or do you mean you just switched products? From what they were saying, it was a custom system. Then again, I'm not a dev or a developer, so I might have misinterpreted what they said wrong. From what I could gather, Python (at the time) didn't have everything they needed so they developed a custom system called Nasty. Now that Python has everything they need, they no longer need the custom system.
These are two separate things.
First, we changed the branching structure (we use Perforce and have done for a long time). This means that when you make a change in your local development branch it takes a slightly different route through staging branches before it ends up on TQ.
Second, Tiberius is correct, we used to need Nasty but now don't. Removing it means that our code looks like the regular Python code you'll find in any open source project, meaning that we can use tools built by the community instead of rolling our own everything.
Also, CCP Gangleri has just deleted the launcher payload for Mac, as it wasn't working and was the source of issues people were having with Mac when they installed via the launcher. Currently the method to use is the installer. QA Engineer | Team Cobra Kai |

Confirming that. There is absolutly no way to test anything considering the 5 second lag everytime you do something.

So i noticed some things about the new drone stuff that could really use some changes.
When dragging drones from "drones in bay" folder to "drones in local space" they need to be dragged to the actual "drones in local space" folder, so my question would be is there any way it can be changed so they can be dragged to the empty space below the "drones in local space" folder itself as well ?
Also when dragging drones from "drones in local space" to "drones in bay" is there any way to make it so they can be dragged onto any space below "drones in bay" without placing them in whatever folder the cursor is on?
I think most people would find quick drag and drops to deploy and recall drones to be more useful than recalling and organizing your drones in space into a folder in one click. because right now, 1 wrong click and ya just recalled and placed drones into to the wrong folder, good luck finding and reorganizing those little buggers in the heat of battle once dropped into wrong folder when you meant to just recall them.
Also i noticed some serious lag when deploying and recalling drones. could be for everything not just drones. noticed this during the last big patch i was testing. But it was fixed shortly after singularity release, so im not terribly worried about.
Still lag is rather detrimental to the testing process. Would love you long time if it was sorted before hitting singularity :)

So installer it is. Maybe I can get Singularity patched up to date before Odyssey 1.1 is release ;)

Tried the above: made a copy of the tranquility client, created eve.exe shortcut and update properties as per wiki. Double clicked. Nothing happened.
Created a shortcut to the repair tool and updated the properties as per the wiki. It ran for a while but at the end showed that there were errors (from the log file)
C:\Users\Admin1\AppData\Local\Temp\nsvF01A.tmp\library.zip\repairTool\repairLogic.py:296: UnicodeWarning: Unicode equal comparison failed to convert both arguments to Unicode - interpreting them as being unequal
Again ran the eve.exe shortcut and still nothing at all happened.
I tried rebooting, deleting, started over with the same result.
My wife who patched from a previous installation was able to launch Sisi without problems. |

Connected using copied install, worked just fine. Haven't really tried flying around yet as I'm waiting for the mirror to be updated because the current one is quite old, and as such does not allow me to use med t2 projectiles. Hopefully this happens soon!
Edit: Almost forgot, my os is Windows 7 64 bit. The download was 800 or so mb if I remember correctly. |

Yup, downloaded 7GB installer overnight, it did the launcher update and patching thing and now I'm back at the "Data package unavailable" message. I'd like to be able to test before release :)

With the ammo in guns issue, I'm playing with large blasters, and with 7 guns in group its only firing 1 gun, but subtracting 7 rounds from that gun, so even manual reload isn't working, becuase all but 1 grouped gun isn't firing.
Also, tier 3 BC's (the talos in this case) if you sort market items to filter out by ship powergrid and CPU it will think Large electron blasters are ok for the talos, but none of the other types of large blasters (ion, neuntron etc) and when fitting it initially thinks they overload the ship, but then once fit, allow you to activate them (the large turrets bonus on the tier 3 BC's isn't apply until after the item is fit) |

Experience:
Had old odyssey version on singularity install (it had ability to login on launcher before launch). Tried to launch that directly and have it updated. it kept saying "downloading launcher update" but the pc was not doing anything but idling (checking cpu and memory times of process and disk access).
I then copied current tranquility overtop of old singularity install and relaunched. It then downloaded 895MB update and Im now in singularity. So it has no problems at all when making new singularity install but I don't know about updating from old singularity; it failed. |

From what I can tell, the installer installs 575219. Then when EVE launches and it checks the version number, it tries to download 584270, which would appear to be what it needs according to the latest patch build:

I should have clarified earlier, sorry for the inconvenience. With no payload the launcher will fail on client verification but you can bypass it by starting the client directly, here is an example Terminal command (assumes you are in the client installation directory): ./[your EVE install].app/Contents/Resources/EVE\ Online.app/Contents/MacOS/cider --cmdline=" /server:87.237.38.50" Check out my EVE Gate broadcast log for semi-regular updates on various EVE development: https://gate.eveonline.com/Profile/CCP%20Gangleri/StatusUpdates

Yes, I have found what was wrong with the payload and we are working on making a new one available. If you already applied the update via the launcher you can fix your client using these steps:
- right click the client, show package contents
- browse to /Contents/Resources
- rename the EVE Online package here to 'bad package'
- show package contents on 'bad package'
- repeat step 1 and 2
- repeat step 1 and 2 (this is not a typo)
- open another Finder window and browse to the 'bad package' there
- move the EVE Online package from the first Finder window to the second one
- delete 'bad package'
- close both Finder windows
- open client, remember that you will need to use the Terminal to point it to Singularity

I'm not finding another package named "EVE Online" when I follow these steps. When I repeat steps 1 and 2, I simply see "bad package" where presumably I should see "EVE Online". |
