So I noticed after patch the CA-2 only applies a 40% implant set bonus as opposed to the pre patch 50%
Any official word on as to why this wasn't in the patch notes or am I just blind?
Also CA-3 and CA-4 looks interesting and I assume this was done to not make the entire set overly powerful, but why was these things not announced at all?

Yes, it got reduced a bit not to make the whole set too powerful, I'll talk around to make sure this is added in the patch notes. Dang, I would have 0,3 CPU remaining on my CNR with 8xT2 Cruise Launcher and 3xrigor, now I'll need to get the new implants ;) |

Absolutely. I personally have no problem with the adjustment. It's just silly to make an adjustment to them right now when they apparently have no plans to release the new implants until much later in the year. It'll make the difference in being able to online or not a module which could result in a fairly powerful fit becoming not viable any more.
Personally I find the callous indifference to the impact of making such a change let alone the incompetence involved in not giving people some reasonable heads up so they can adjust fits, implants, skill plans or whatever concerning I hope whoever was involved in it has the good graces to take it onboard and up their game as its not good for the long term health of the game. |

Fortunatly all my fits so far seem to work ok - got a thanatos fit that does triage half decently due to using them but its still possible to online by a fraction of a percent of PG yay.
I can imagine there are going to be some people who don't notice that their fit isn't properly online any more and get their ship exploded tho :S
EDIT: I do like the look of the whole 1-4 set thats really nice, but shame the implementation of the changes couldn't have been handled better. |

Just found a loki fit I'd been toying with doesn't work any more :( was a fun setup but not something I used much - still gonna miss it tho.

This flat out breaks the fits of several ships in my hangar, which will cause some problems.
As others have said, I think the CA-3 and 4 sound good, but not synchronizing the nerf with their introduction is maddening.
And chance of sorting this in the next mini-patch? |

Multiplicative, not additive. There we 4 of the implants now, providing a 50%, 40%, 30%, and 20% bonus to secondary effects in total. That means you'll have a total of a 227.6% increase to the effects with all 4 slotted.
For example, the CA-1 implant provides 1.5% to PG and capacitor. With just the CA-1 and CA-2 installed, you would have had a 3.375% bonus to PG, CPU, Cap capacitor, and Cap recharge before 1.1, now you'll have a 3.15% bonus to each. With all four installed, however, you'll have a total bonus of 4.914% to CPU, PG, Cap Capacity, Cap Recharge, Shield HP, Armor HP, Ship Agility, and Ship Velocity. |

Wanted to say thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread
it helped me figure out where my 51.32 power grid discrepancy went :(
yes I like to squeeze every last erg out of a ship's fitting so my Apoc with 8 x Tachyon Anode Particle Stream I all worked pre-patch and now post-patch I have 7 online - which I noticed in lvl 4 mission :)
so to make up for the loss of 0.225% nerf I need to trash slot 6 implant E0-603 @ 31.5 mill and buy slot 6 EG-601 @ 2.5 mill
for those who are asking why ?
because this is my type of customization of T1 ships without blowing bills of isk on faction or navy :)
Anyway just to add it would have been real helpful if I could have bought the CA-3 & 4 implants to counter the nerf but they haven't been seeded either so that sucks too.....

Ok, now that I've had the time to sort through my hangar, no fewer than six ships suddenly have offline modules.
Seriously CCP, I'm not one of the of hyperbolic foamers who cry every time something doesn't go their way, but this little stealth nerf was handled really poorly, since it was clearly done with content in mind that you have not yet actually added to the game.
Will you just do the right thing and retract the nerf until you get around to adding the new implants so we don't have all these ships that did fit, and apparently will fit, but just don't fit in the interim?

They are a reward for those that Pre-Ordered the Collectors Edition,
All those that have received a Mail with the code to redeem them.
so yes there are one or two on the market (haven't redeemed mine yet, not for sale) but they are few and far between, so it is a little annoying for those who depend on them for fittings, the 3 & 4 should have the reduction rather than the nerf on the 1 & 2 which are already ingame and being used.
Seems to be yet another mistake which affects the majority ingame (who received them) without actually informing anyone.  |

They've nerfed the CA-2 *before* they gave out the new implants, because that doesn't lead to the case you are describing. Olympic Shitstorm.
