Blackbird = BB
Theres not two B's in Battleship so it cant possibly be BB.
(BS can also mean bullsh*t)

US Navy ships are designated by two letters. The first B in BB is for Battleship. Lacking a second word, the B is repeated. Thus, a US Navy battleship is called a BB.

Eve isn't the US Navy
I'll continue to refer to battleships as BS (irregardless of the other meanings "BS" has) and blackbirds as BB. You navy folks may continue but don't be surprised if we fail to understand when you ask about BB equipment that is not EW related.

It's not just the US Navy that uses that term. It's pretty much standard military terminology. So it's BB, not BS.

No reason for you to continue with your ignorance then. Whether you are a navy person or not (I was army) you should know the designations of ships at sea. BB is the designation for battleship, it is used by every nation.

Do you really believe using "bb" vs "BB" would make the matter BETTER? Lol. People would be confused like hell, esp. when lots of people aren't even using shift/caps lock ingame.

FYI Iceland has a total of 3 frigates I think, that's our coast guard. We don't have an army, navy or air force and for good reasons too.

BB is navel parliance for battleship.

I have this argument with people in my corp every week, a battleship is BB not BS. A cruiser is CC and a frigate is FF. To get technical the caracal is a CCG and a kestrel is an FFG.

You should use the navy term because Eve uses terminology from the navy. They call them Battleships and Frigates and etc no? Not "Big ship with big guns," "Space doomship," "Dragon of death class attack ship" and etc. Where does the term "Battleship" and etc come from? You guessed it, the navy!
Thus if its established that Eve follows navy terminology, its not too far fetched to follow the navy abrivations.
Basically anybody arguing otherwise is saying "I'm too simple minded to think outside of using B and S because its in the name."
In my corp a blackbird is "bb" and Battleship is "BB."

Stop using acronyms.
If you want to refer to the word "battleship", use the word "battleship". If you want to refer to the word "blackbird", use the word "blackbird".

That seems like a waste of characters. why not just B, C and F then 
I would sugest that every one use BB or BS, what ever you fell comfortable with. I don't think any one could mistake BS for anything but battleship if they actualy read the sentence it is used in...

Been having the same argument since Beta. Ain't gonna change. I will still use BB for Battleship, CA for heavy cruiser, CL for light cruiser, FF for Frigate, etc because it is ingrained from 30 plus years of usage. The rest of ya'll kin do as ya want - and when talking ta anyone outside my normal community I'll spell out the words so as not to confuse ya.

This gets my pointless thread of the week vote and its not even monday yet.
For all those that know the correct terms, Im happy for you, if ever a battleships steams its way through your local shopping centre you will be able to shout out a warning quicker than anyone else, although most wont know what the hell your talking about and get squished anyway.
For all those that dont know, dont stress about it, the closest your likely to get to a battleship is the Discovery channel.
O, and its a game, so the correct term should probably be P for Polygon.

Personally, I don't care what acronym people use for what, so long as I can understand what they're talking about through context. Personally, I use the standard USN/RN nomenclature - not because I'm a "navy person," but because I read a lot of history, particularly about WWII sea campaigns.
For the sake of edification:
CT - Corvette
TB - Torpedo Boat
FF - Frigate
FFG - Guided Missile Frigate
DE - Destroyer Escort
DD - Destroyer
DDG - Guided Missile Destroyer
CL - Light Cruiser
CA - Heavy Cruiser (originally "Armored Cruiser")
CG - Guided Missile Cruiser
CV - Aircraft Carrier (originally "Aviation Cruiser")
CVL - Light Carrier (a small CV)
CVE - Escort Carrier (an even smaller CV)
BC - Battlecruiser (guns of a battleship, speed and armor of a heavy cruiser)
BB - Battleship
I'm sure there are more, But I don't think it's worth *****ing open Jane's Fighting Ships of World War II.
On a tangential topic, Iceland was a very important Allied naval station in WWII, serving as a fueling stop and airbase for convoy escorts. Many lives were saved from U-Boats thanks to its position.

Calling a BatleShip a BB is just non-sense in this game, the game is not even from USA.
And for the heck of it, I didn't know what was a BB before reading this thread. I figured out the BS thing by myself.
