Heheh :P
We are trying to teach our guys not to smack and to stay polite and civil (for the most part) -- those of us who've been playing longer than a few weeks know that things turn around, anyone who's top one week can be bottom the next, and it doesn't pay to smack, long term. But we do have a lot of guys who've only been playing a few weeks, so bear that in mind and try not to hold it too much against us :P Yet another area where we have lots of room to grow =)

You mean actual PvPers with good ships and fittings will be coming down to our little nook of the universe?
Hoooray!
I also apologize for the less-intelligent members of our corp. There's a lot of us, so you'll inevitably get some screwballs. You also have to realize that you are about the 7th wardec since our feature in the news, so its hard for us to know if you will be a real opponent or just another group of pirates who look for easy kills and end up getting on the wrong end of a goonrush.

In my limited experience with EVE, I've come to the conclusion that out of any given corporation, it's almost certain that 5-10% of them will be just itching to fling horse excrement at the slightest provocation. Unfortunately, when you're as big a corp as goonfleet, you wind up with a lot of those people.

Kladdkaka apparently is a swedish dessert, the name of which roughly translates to 'sticky cake'. I may have to try my hand at making it, it looks quite tasty.

Something I've noticed here is that people take most goons entirely too seriously, but that's okay, they probably aren't familiar where we're "from". Anyways, if we can get a few good battles out of this war, I'll be happy. I'm more than willing to lose some ships if it's a good fight. You NSN guys sound like a nice enough bunch, I look forward to fighting you.

To be fair, we get our asses kicked plenty. I wouldn't be surprised if there were over a thousand frigate losses on our killboards.

Thusly, we are fighting the devil.
In conclusion, I weep, as I am t1 frigate bait and will die a thousand horrible deaths.

There are 700 frigate losses on the goonfleet killboard, And we estimate there is another 300-400 that people didnt bother to post. The total cost of all the frigates lost since goonfleet's inception is around 100mil.

This was probably done either by Cheface, or one of the other corps that don't like us but have oodles of money, yet not enough back bone to come fight us themselves. Anytime someone even gets close to our system, they'll typically stop short 2-3 systems when they do whatever ( check their star maps? ) and see eighty billion people sitting around in system.
Other enemies will wardec, then sit in empire where only a few of us go back and forth occasionally, usually at a university, waiting for one of us to jump out in a shuttle to kill us.
The other enemies actually DO come to S-U, usually in a destroyer, interceptor, or stealth bomber, and either annoy us by killing 2-3 people in newbie frigates that are easily replaced, kill a single mining cruiser, or warp from station to station at 100kms then back to a safespot as soon as anything bigger than a frigate gets closer than 90kms.
None of our enemies have our respect, hopefully this will be different. If not, just another annoyance to deal with. No biggie. As for the blobs, if warping around from spot to spot without doing anything is a tactic, as is running from any real fight, then no one can really go against the blob tactic.
Just sounds to me like some pilots that have trained up lots and lots of stats are annoyed that we won't come out in anything bigger, and their battleships will get taken down by hordes of worthless ships.

We do, for good enemies. The french guys, as I've stated before, were six kinds of awesome and were great enemies that could have posed a serious threat.
Morons like Scallen that come into the system and warp from safespot to safespot to stations in their destroyers aren't. But they are pretty funny.
Either way, I don't really care. At least this means I won't have to go out pirating to get a PvP fix.
Don't forget Conin and Shadows, they're often good for a fight.

No... Not really. I see them sitting around in Pert and Y9G a lot, but I don't really see them much aside from that. That, and blowing up unarmed PoS's in .3 with 5 Dreadnaughts.
The last I saw of them was when I stumbled onto a 3 barge mining op with a Scorpion guard in my Thrasher.

Reading it correctly, they decided to not engage at nearly 6:1 odds (46:8)
That's all there is to it.
Oh, I agree that it makes sense to not engage those kinds of odds. The problem is, against Goonfleet, those WILL be your odds. Which means one of two things. Either they didn't know how many members GF has or hadn't noticed how large GF gangs tend to be (very unlikely), or they're being paid to gank lone travellers in empire.
Which is what the last few wardecs have been all about.

Last your corp saw us was in IIRH and we had a good fight. Lots of battleships and cruisers to be seen too.
Generalisations suck.
Conin engage you repeatedly against crazy odds and posts like yours just lower the tone of a pretty decent thread.

It must be hard being so perfect.
Anyways, tonight I bore witness to my first NSN kill. Yessir, that intercepter and sniping tempest sure took care of Annover Haf in his very first Merlin. I am sure you really set him back.
I purchased him two more with fittings because of it, and he was even more happy that he got blown up. So he will be there the next day scrambling and webbing and all that other good stuff. See you there!

Everyone should care about the respect of the people they deal with in-game. You shouldn't care about me at all, AFAIK we have never ever crossed paths in-game.
It is a lot more fun to fight people you have a certain amount of respect for, and that respect has to be earned. I will not respect someone because I am told to, I will remain neutral until I interact with those people.
With regards to NSN, I heard you had a good reputation and was expecting a fight. We know you were in Syndicate, but you only went about three jumps in before returning to Empire. When you got back to Empire space, you setup camp to catch our members who were doing a little shopping or picking up skillbooks. You would definately not get more than a T1 Frigate kill there.
There are two types of people who fight us, those who take ships/fleets up to S-U and arn't afraid to engage, and those who try to gank those of us minding out own business in Empire space. I really hope that you guys can live up to your reputation and come to fight us, but your first impression was a bad one.
You should have expected us to 8:1 blob you guys, and if it isn't something you can deal with, you should never have accepted the contract in the first place.
I really want to be proven wrong, I want an enemy who is prepared to fight, who will find and exploit the weaknesses we have, who is prepared to lose ships, who is capable of inflicting heavy damage on us.
I do not want to fight a corp who sits in the safety of Empire, 20 jumps away from our home system, ganking random people.

No offence but at goonfleet, I've ran into you guys once and you sucked more than an industrial hoover. Oh and GL to NSN, you guys actually pwn and have individual skill. Let it shine guys!

Trac3rt, as you seem to be one of the more well-spoken members of GoonFleet, let me offer you and yours a few words of advice - stop spamming the forums barely 18 hours into the war. In case you didn't know, NSN earned its current reputation by being one of the front-line corps of the old Phoenix Alliance in the Great Northern War. Since then, they've spent the last year in the MC.
If you don't know what that means, let me spell it out for you and your members - this isn't some random cabal of griefers out for cheap thrills. This isn't a pirate corp looking to get some laughs. NSN is a hardened group of PvP veterans with over two years of blood pooled around their boots. They will fight and they will "bring it". They will also gank you, ambush you, pod you and generally try to cause a lot of explosions.
My point? Leave the morality arguments at home, please. They don't care about your expectations. They are being paid to hurt you.
Regardless, NSN is a good-natured crew and you can have some fun with them so long as you keep it civil. Take advantage of it.
