I always get a bundle of kicks out of folks who play roleplaying games...and bash the roleplayers as wierdos. Roleplay is merely a form of escapism, and an mmorpg is the correct format for those of us who enjoy a bit of rp. As has been mentioned, archaic language is not a prerequisite of roleplay...the cool thing about Eve is that anything you do, any action you take is roleplay. In a persistent world where actions have consequences and characters have reputation, it's impossible to view it any other way.
Mac Knife, that's pretty shocking what you were subjected to. I've seen a lot of bad smack, but never anything like that. It crosses many lines, even if it were meant as a form of roleplay (unlikely) and would be considered "fighting words" where most people come from. Shameful that people hide behind the annonymity of an online game to spout such nonesense. Petition him, put him on block, and try to convince yourself that the majority of the playerbase are a lot more mature...and even those who lower themselves to the level of smacktalk won't go that far.

If you believe someone has spoken to you abusively in a way that breaches the Eve-Online EULA or TOS, then please file a petition under the "Harassment" section of the petition system.
Posting chatlogs on the forums only incites flaming and trolling.
