Nah.. One person can control many accounts, may not come from same IP even (account home, account at work, playing from a friends house). So CCP can never tell who really have the most isk. Flakeys are perfectly right, no one will ever know. Even if many starts posting how much isk they have, the richest one might still not do it, hence you can never know. _____________________________________________________________________________________ -áI did not have sexual relations to THAT woman.... |

As no-one knows for certain, I would have to agree with the above.
Entitiy has a lot of rare (albeit priceless) collectables that amount for some of his wealth. As for his wallet, I don't even want to think about how much is even in there.
I would love to be ISK rich in this game:
- To be able to buy an Ishukone Watch Scorpion, fit it with officer mods and jump it into Low or Null for a laugh, just because you could afford to replace it, would be amazing!
- To create the "Eve Cruise Party Boat" (Charon filled with Alcohol, Tourists, Exotic Dancers and Janitors (amongst other items)) and circumnavigate New Eden with it... (Shame the Charon doesn't have launchers so I can fit fireworks on it too). Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person." |

Unfortunately, I am inclined to agree...
One of the reasons I joined this game is to be able to collect one of every possible (some I will never have the opportunity to own) sub capital ship. A goal that I will still be working on ten years down the line probably
However, I has always said if I ever have that amount of isk, an officer fit Ishukone Watch Scorpion IS going down haha Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Second I would say is somer.. He is silly billy rich
Third is prob the guy who does the goon investment stuff.. Cant remember his name but he is WAAYY up there..
Next I would say is prob Grendall As he has ALOT of t2 bpos
The Antiquarian easily as he has alot of near priceless things..
After that Idk there are alot of people in the hundreds of billions and trillions so who knows..
There also isnt anyway to really know even from ccps aspect because most of said people have alot invested in things, and dont hold that much liquid isk |

I loathe the idea of ever being so rich that I cannot reasonably spend enough to wipe my account. While I understand many have the drive to earn money for various goals, the idea of having a "Scrooge McDuck" amount of ISK just rotting in my account is something of anathema to me. At that point you are just generating money for no real reason and life loses its purpose. Ahhh, back pocket cash
(I wish) Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person." |

But to keep things "on topic", I think the speculating on such things is very much a tip-of-the-iceberg type of situation, as nobody is going to bother keeping track of all their liquid funds, hard assets, game time (reverse-redeemed PLEX etc.), alt accounts and such, whatever you would consider part of ones riches, much less make that information public for anyone to compare.
Don't get me wrong, I have no illusions of grandeur. As I've been so fortunate to discover; for everyone in EVE - perhaps with the exception of a very few select people - for whatever commodity or asset you use to measure the full extent of your wealth, be it valued in millions or billions or trillions, there is someone out there trading that asset like they would trade pennies at a family poker game.
Anyway, nobody has enough information to correlate and prove that one player has more ISK and items across all their accounts than another, and I think that the multiple people who could get together to correlate and prove who has more stuff than the other will not bother doing it.
Personally, I'm going to guess that the richest person in EVE doesn't know they're the richest, and doesn't play anymore, and as such we'll never know for sure if and when all the other "richest" players have surpassed that number. Do YOU like to undock? |

richest is probably somer...
wealthiest, prolly entity ... the things that /mean/ something .. isk isnt everything.
I have known people in the past that had hit CCP's old 'isk cap' ... twice (started to feed isk to an alt)... before it was raised.
then he got even MORE isk--we used to joke in corp (since he was a corpy) that when the server crashed, it meant he dropped his wallet... back when carriers first came out, he kept a nyx in every home system so he didnt have to move them. he has a dread and carrier in empire (imho, priceless).
Still plays, is compleatly under the radar ... and i know has many trillions--tens of trillions... but how much, only he knows. He hasnt let his current corp/alliance know either, because the last one used him a bit.
I suspect there are a few people out there like that--that could have been amassing wealth like this for ages... and with time, it only got easier....
i'm terrible at makin isk... donations welcome!

OPERATIVE PHRASE
Quote: I have a lot of fun with it all, at least.
That is the point of a Game.
It is a sandbox and people have different things they enjoy.
Some of them scale in ways that are still enjoyable and some less so.
It is a sandbox and well ... some people play for Kill mails
yet not every kill mail hunter feels like station or gate camping in Amarr or jita waiting for someone to turn flashy, or war deccing for the same purpose or camping a null sec entry gate....
AND, many do enjoy that sort of Kill mail harvesting in moderation... to "make quota" in their own minds... "crap, haven't shot anything tonight.. may as well camp the gate to try to tag something before i go to bed (RL)
-
I imagine Mynnna has enjoyed big things like understanding the broad economy and making huge bets on expansion changes... might even like spread sheets which enable efficiency in industry that others don't enjoy.
....effiiency is a joy to some and a bane to others like me..
But I love low turn over stuff but get a kick out of selling items for 2 or 5 times jita regularly in high sec... finding niches where those will move regulary -- for whatever perverted reason it makes me happy to log in and see it, just as when playing a PvP character, I'll campt a gate now and then, but don't try to max my kills... just get a little spring in my step from tagging a few a night while bullshi ng with friends in corp. My method and interest level is unlikely to ever get me into the Trillions, yet I have fun and have the miniscule fortune of a few hundred billion.. minuscule by trader standars.
---
IF you like trading things that scale and you play the game for 5 years and keep deploying it, you'll have way more than controlling a large alliance and raiding its coffers.
That being said..
Sommer Blink must have been absolutely rolling in ISK EVEN without any RMT that efficient lotto system was just (and is?) pumping out isk faster than trade schemes could do.. I mean , if you were making 10% on every pot and only 100 out of the 100k real consistent players bought a plex or used their incursion isk to wager 600 million in combined pots a night
100 x 600 million x .10 = 6 billion a day 6 billion x 365 = 2.1 Trillion a Year
I'd guess that for months at peak popularity there were maybe 500 of 100k players (that is only 1 out of 200 players) wagering 600 million a night (10 60 million auctions? .. that is just a casual player) that would be 30 billion a day ! and, I wouldn't be surprised if even 500 was a low estimate.. and it could have been 2 or three times that...
I wouldn't be surprised if Sommer was earning at a 10 trillion plus annual rate at the peak of its popularity and the RMT wasn't needed to drive that at all. . |

in my eyes Entity, Chribba, Grendell + a few others who I shall not mention of which each of them have trillions in both assets and liquid iskies and im pretty sure there are a lot more out there exactly in the same boat, but as said before they don't tend to be out in the open and prefer hiding in the background using alts for selling and buying. |

Most guys who have a ''decent sum of isk'' would say the opposite , any isk in your wallet is dead isk and that's something wich most traders dislike .
As an example i had to ask a friend of mine to borrow a few B today because i only have 300 M in my wallet . In reality i have between 300 to 400 times the isk he has BUT mine is all tied up in investments/markets/projects where he has his isk nicely in his wallet usually because he is a ratter and not a trader/industrialist.
Now that all said , allthough isk gives you the advantage to fly a bit more expensive and be lazy when YOU feel like it , unlike friends who ''need to go ratting because of empty wallet '' , the amount of isk you have does not contribute to the enjoyment of the game at all wich is why threads like these are as usefull/stupid as asking who has the most missile launcher II's in the game.
I never envied anyone with more isk then i have , i have envied people who did stuff i never have or had more fun in general in the game then me . I know it sounds gay as hell but the true richness in eve is the friends you meet along the way and with wich you share this nerdworld with .I've met enough people in my eve time who never had more then 1 B isk yet allways seemed to have a blast in pvp etc .

This is a game, there are several databases and CCP can perfectly know what character is the richest one. It's a silly question anyway. It's true that one person can (and usually has) multiple accounts, this however doesn't exclude that someone can know who the richest player is. Have a look at this scenario:
Total player owned ISK/assets (in ISK): 600T Player A owned ISK/assets (in ISK): 300T
If that scenario would be true (I'm not saying it is), someone can still know who the richest player is.
A name isn't interesting to know though, more interesting would be how much the richest player has while keeping his name anonymous. That way we can all dream about what we would do with that amount of ISK, just like we do when we're participating on a million-dollar jackpot lottery.

Totally Agree, I think the richest player in EVE ought to be based on their earned income, just like real life. Therefore the richest person in EVE must be a single player who has not been gifted by joint accounts from credit cards or isk/item transfers. It must be earned somehow. Had an in-game wallet that sat at 20B isk on 1 account for my 1 character from in game activities only. Got so bored with it I purchased things like the Titan skill just to use the isk. There does get to a point where earning the isk is done for other reasons, yet I gave up and purchased 5 years worth of EVE and started a second character out of boredom. Shouldn't there be something like a pleasure boat/home to tout in EVE? |
