Stop giving us gifts. Either that, or only give us avatar items from now on.
I am willing to submit 20 designs per year... that's 10 individual avatar items for both the anniversary and Christmas... 5 items for each gender. I will work for no compensation. I do not want to be a CCP employee, at this time. I am offering a service, free of charge, so that the forums stop sounding like a daycare that just got told they're getting a carrot sticks instead of cookies for snack time.
I'm not even playing. This is stupid, and I want to help you fix it. I say again: I do not want money... I just want to improve my second-favorite world (IRL being my favorite, though not by much).

You mean like their expansions and patches and continued dedication to improving the game?
The only thing your subscription obligates them to provide is an account on their server with which to play the game. There's no contractual requirement for them to do any development or iteration at all.

Excluding the accounts from the gifting process overall would be a good solution. They stop getting "crappy" gifts and we stop hearing their whining. |

If the players did not provide content they would not gain as many subs.
So yeah, pretty sure CCP needs to keep us happy. Just keeping servers open doesn't warrant a subscription charge as many games do that for free.
This thread has so much content it may be 'Thread of the Year' and it is only January.

Because those games either provide revenue from microtransactions, or have operating costs so low that they're supplemented by other games.
Running Tranquility probably incurs considerable expense. The electric bill alone must be pretty hefty, not to mention the cost of replacing failed components, wages for technicians, property taxes, etc.

If you want to make vanity items for CCP, then just do it. Model them, texture them, and post your results for everyone to see in GD, on youtube and in a blog. CCP will use them if they're good and if you get enough community attention. And you will have done a great thing for the Eve-O community. But asking CCP to stop giving out gifts for you to do this is silly.
Just do it. Eve needs a modding community. You could be the start of it if your willing to put the work in. |
