"I dont think we will ever see MC take a contract up against BOB. Am i wrong? tell me why if i am..."
If they do, then it's reasonable to expect cost of the outpost would be included in the contract bill.
Which doesn't automatically mean no contract ever, but likely reduces amount of people who could afford it even further...
but then it's not like any other alliance wasn't free to offer MC a deal like that, and gain similar advantage.

Why don't you put your money where your mouth is and find out?
Another alliance has set up an OUTPOST in your claimed space. Clearly you have some sort of agreement there. I dont think we will ever see MC take a contract up against BOB. Am i wrong? tell me why if i am...
its pretty obvious m8..
pay the fee and see what happens.....
No doubt they will quote someone a fee for a contract on bob... But to seem impartial they will quote a ridiculously high fee to a point where no one would even want to pay it. If i was MC and i had an outpost in your space, why would i risk it for a contact that would eventually expire? They have a money making outpost that will generate more revenue that any single contract ever could.
When i said MC was in BOB's back pocket, thats what i meant.... is what i have said above wrong? Explain if so..

Edited by: Shibby DoWa on 12/03/2006 17:33:43 ok, lets try a constructive post.
The last time MC went carebearing in BoB space, there was a huge out-cry over MC being in BoB's pockets, how they would never take a contract against BoB, etc and what-not. However, this was only a short-stay to get the wallet up, something that just about every merc corp has to do from time to time (KIA were mining in someone else's space for a while to get their capital ships too). Once the carebearing is finished, there would be no need what-so-ever for the merc corp to hang around.
Now, if a merc corp creates and builds property, whether it be a POS or an Outpost, they are at the mercy of the alliance who controls that space, and others who wish to claim their space. If hostile entity X decides to try and take the MC's outpost while the MC are at the other side of the galaxy on a contract, who will defend it? If somebody is attacking BoB's space, will the MC intervine (even if on another contract) to defend their outpost or the space of their hosts? If someone comes up with enough ISK to hire the MC against BoB, will the outpost be fair game to take? What will happen after the contract?
It would be good to get both an official BoB and MC statement on this (especially the MC) about how the above situations and more will be resolved. While the ISS maybe allowed into another alliance's territory to get rich, this is because their neutrality is different to that of the MC's. ISS's goals are to get rich and be friends with everyone. The MC's is to kill whoever pays them lots of ISK wants them to kill, and never to turn down a contract due to "friendly relations" with a certain alliance. People will be less willing to hire the MC if they will have to constantly worry about them backing out of a contract to defend their home systems.

Ask MC exactly how many, SERIOUS, with CASH and with a PLAN, offers they had for contracts they had on BoB.
Once you've had an answer, ask why any forward thinking group could possibly want an outpost - then try and work out why we're the most obvious people to speak to about putting up an outpost.
It's all rather obvious, Raid, if you think about it.

exactly, but MC would quote the cost of the outpost PLUS any revenue they might lose in the future... a total of countless billions. So no, MC will never take a contact against BOB because the price is simply too high. The advantages gained by MC would never justify such a bill...

Incorrect, the bill for using mc against us is now something that THE CLIENT *might* never pay.
So again, if you wanna find out - ask mc how much they want, cough it up and let's see the result, shall we?

Any answer given is far less comprehended than an answer found.
edit: the fact that the answer to this has been given, on many occassions, by the ceos of both groups, just further proves the point.

If you want to continue to dance around and not respond then dont bother replying again and let someone in your alliance who can respond do so.

actually by the looks of it, he's more interesting in what the MC will do rather than BOB. if the MC had set up shop with another 0.0 aliance the questions would still stand.

Actually im more concerned about what MC is doing. Im not asking why BOB has let MC into their territory thats fairly obvious. Question is, why has MC decided to build an OUTPOST (not a pos or something else that can be taken down) in someone elses territory. Such an action does effect the prices they charge for their contracts and does effect who they are contracted against.
I cant compete with the RKK forum *****s so call me whatever you like. The questions however, will not be going away. Either answer them or just admit you now own MC.
edit: shibby beat me to it... thanks for actually reading my posts shibby.

whether that was a serious question or not, you can't part a titan at an outpost, only POS.
of course, the safest place for a titan is on a logged-off alt account :)

You ARE wrong, Raid. GO TO MC AND ASK THEM HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST TO HAVE A CONTRACT ON US!
When they say "50 billion" (or whatever the fee may be) PAY IT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS!
The point being, my poor misguided and obviously comprehension impaired fanboi, it isn't MC that won't take a contract, it is the peole of EVE that won't pay what it would cost to have a contract taken on us.
There's a rather massive, wide, huge difference, to it being too expensive, and not willing to even consider it.
Does having this outpost in period basis make that fee even greater?
Yes, it probably does.
Wishing you had thought of it first?

My point was the fee would exceed any benefit MC would give someone to be contracted against BOB. THAT is why MC will never be hired against BOB... yes the fee will be steep and its up to the client to pay it HOWEVER, this relationship was designed so that no one would ever be able to pay it thus bob will never be a contract MC will take.
Outpost in bob spave + MC new fee against BOB = MC in back pocket of BOB.

and if CC held space that the MC could build an outpost in, exactly the same kind of deal could have been struck.
Being honest, the issue here isn't that the MC built an outpost in 0.0, it's who's 0.0 space they built it on. anyone who attempts to take bob's space will now have both bob AND the mc after them, which isn't really a very inviting prospect.
still, an official announcement from the MC would help calm things down.

But no, Raid, your point was that MC wouldn't take a contract against BoB - I've proved that it isn't the MC that are the problem, it is the EVE community (most notably our enemies) who don't have the plan, nor the cash, to make it worth their while.
FA failed to pay for it when we took first Delve, then Fountain.
Imperium failed to pay for it when we kicked them out of Outer Ring.
If that is how you define somenoe who is in the "bob back pocket" then great, the MC can keep my pockets warm allllll night long. But right now you look like a bitter little fanbois, who is jealous of the empires that can be built, all that is required is a little bit of effort.
