MC wont take a contract up aginsst bob and theres some disagreement as to why that is. Dianabolic sees is as no one has a plan or the money to pay MC... i see it being more like MC's fee for BOB has always been just high enough that no one can really afford it (or would ever want to pay MC that much to do it). The end result is the same, and this outpost only solidifies that such a contract will never happen.

They have taken an outpost in BOB space and they lose potential customers that are not BOB friendly or against BOB+BOB friendly targets. Fair enough merchs are in it for the isk after all. Tryin to say that a contract against BoB would be "Lots of isk" + "The cost of an outpost" is rediculous and you underestimate the average readers inteligence just by saying so and thats y MC havent made an announcement about it. I expect to see a lot of BoB-hostile entities beeing war dec'd by MC in the future and we already know the price on those "contracts". Bottomline BOB n MC have mutual intrests from now on, so BOB will be an "exception" as a war target. Maybe they will have a war funded by some unknown person for 1 week to prove otherwise, but its obvious as many ppl said, points at dianabolic ;)

Eve seems to be going towards bigger and bigger capital ships, so having 0.0 refining and production facilities is super useful in order to be able to produce these things. They couldnt build an outpost in "unclaimed" space because it mainly has crap roids and moons, is generally close to empire and so hard to secure, and what happens if the MC are on contract and someone else moves a fleet in to take their space? It's pretty obvious why they chose bob. Noone seemed to be willing to pay what it would take to make them fight bob anyway, and bob's space is amongst the most secure in eve. Also they already have friendly relations. It's less obvious what the problem is. And that problem is that BoB have a tendency to get involved in fights beyond their borders. (Unless they suddenly went all carebear on us). What happens if MC are in a long term alliance war contract, with their full force, at rates of say 2bn a week (I really dont know what MC rates are), and suddenly the situation changes and BoB comes in on the other side? MCs forces are all committed on the contract and BoB attack their outpost. (And I'm not accusing BoB of being dishonourable here - it's war right?). It just seems like a messy situation... Or hey maybe BoB and MC are bored (I havent heard of any big MC contracts lately), and they're just setting up for a good old fashioned war down there :)

That'd be a bit odd, seeing as you don't usually shy away from releasing news about considerable achievements (we'll agree that PR is important for corporations in the mercenary business).

They're really not that expensive when you take a look at it and put it all together, especially for a large alliance like ASCN or BoB. Heck, small alliances and assorted industrial conglomorations have put them in space, too. Actually, by now I'd expect one of the old RA dudes to come in and say that he could pay for an outpost from his own wallet. MC and BoB have a good relationship. MC is famous for their professionalism, so I'm sure they'd still take that contract. But watch out for gank fleets hiding behind gates :P

I patiently read all the posts of yours in this thread, and all of them have only one thing in common - you somehow assume that MC is in the business just for kicks. Sorry to break the news for you, but they are in it for money. Helpful link. Consequently, irrespective of any outpost existence, MC bills for engaging BOB would be higher than average, simply because they rely on intelligence and reconaissance data to estimate potential adversaries. I hope this is comprehensible enough without having an accounting background of dbp Perhaps you would better understand the issue, if your guys would stop humping the Doril/Sendaya gate and trying to demand "something substantial and meaningful to the region" from 15-man newbie corps who had actually taken the trouble to make a proper diplomatic approach to request neutrality for passthrough corridor usage. But I guess that would require some business sense, if not actually accounting or diplomacy skills -- This is my personal opinion and doesn't represent DAB or RAZOR alliance in any respect
