You cant even fully insure them, this is just stupid. Would all you crafter types get real with the prices of these things? I am all for you guys making your fair share of ISK, please dont get me wrong, but the HAC market is just ridiculous atm.

Actually, the prices should be a lot higher IMHO. If people actually calculated the amount of time they use in producing items, then all prices would be a lot higher.

he he it takes 5 hours to build a mega and about 80-90 mil for the minerales. for the hacs they cost around 15 mil. and takes a bitt longer to build, so i say max price of a hac is about 50-80mil! Not over 150 mil its a sick f*** price! And the ones ho got hac bpo`s control the marked. And no its not leagel with price fixxing in real live.

The BPO owners don't set the price, the market does.
And the market is willing to pay the current prices.
Supply (static) and demand (extremely high and inelastic) kthxbye.

The reason insurence does not cover is beucase insurence only covers pure minirals used in building.
Insurence does not take into account the price of the different tech II ship components.
So building a HAC is more then what you see as insurence price. -------------

Or the high demand by rich characters and the low supply.
Tech II items have a pretty complex supply chain compared to T1 items (moon minerals, reactions etc) and requires a lot of time. Labour cost isn't considered by those insisting on real-life comparisons, which is pretty self-serving in my opinion.
And as repeated oh so often: If HACs keep selling at 100+ million a piece, then the market can sustain it. If you're one of those that say "but I neeeeeed one to compete, I almost go broke every time I buy one!", you are one of those that help sustain the high prices.

This is not real life, there are no caps on prices, and if you think the price should be lower, make the things yourself and undercut the market. If your assertions are correct you should make a killing due to the fact that if your prices are the cheapest folks will only buy from you.

I'll tell you the same thing I told people in SWG:
If you don't like the prices, make the damn thing yourself.
It's even more applicable here, since there's nothing to stop you from picking up the necessary skills without losing those you already have.

Because people are willing to pay that much.
I'd rather have an insured battleship with full tech II for that kind of price, myself. _________________________________________________________

I'll gladly produce any Tech2 ships as long as you give me all the bpos needed.

In a way, that's a fair point. However the problem is not a lack of willing production oriented and skilled players, it's the lack of BPO availability. The price and availability of BPOs is prohibitive to people who want to just make the damn thing themselves. On the other hand you're right that simply shouting at the situation from the sidelines is stupid if you dont get involved and try to change things yourself. - - - - - - - - - -

Supply < Demand = High Prices
Simple as that. When they quit selling at the current prices, the prices will go down. As long as people keep paying for them, the prices will stay the same.
Personally I think they're ridiculously overpriced and not worth the money, so I won't buy them. But if I were steadily selling them at these prices, I wouldn't lower them either.

Unless more prints get seeded, the total volume wont go up. You can only build so many, and at current prices they do get sold.

simple... the t2 owners are greedy... theres no doubt about it. Not only can they build a HAC for about 40mil, they even NOW have the starship RAM bpos, and yet the prices STILL went up.
Remember when HAC bpo owners whined about not enough RAMS, now they have MORE than enough... so why does price go up? Well, because its greed... no only is it about demand, but those that make it control supply. So, short supply equals high demand... thus they are purposly limiting supply.
Look at the truth... these HAC bpo owners are beyond rich, so to them selling at 80mil or 220mil for a Cerb doesnt make a difference... just that 220mil lets them make less and have a reson to sell that high.
Also, I know of several bpo owners that are either on break and dont make any... or simply dont have the skills to make them.
Its a t2 bpo controlled market... the general member has only once choice... don't buy a fricking HAC!
All you HAC owners can whine with your lame reasons, but its simple... you're a greedy bastard.

Yet another alt troll who doesn't understand economics.
Do you realize that if a BPO owner put, say, 20 deimoses on the market at 40 million each, they would be instantly bought up by a reseller and sold for 150 million, the going price?
In a supply-limited economy, NOBODY can lower prices, no matter what they do, except by raising supply or lowering demand. Raising supply = more BPOs, lowering demand = nerfing HACs. Both of those only CCP can do.

How right you are. So, can we all agree that the BPO has a value of its own and that sales should help to offset its cost?
My point with the "do it yourself" advice is to show people that it isn't so easy to do, and that there is a value in the time and effort a crafter goes through to obtain all the necessary things to make an item.

20 bpos with a build time of like 35 hours. you do the math only so many they can make at once, limited supply and huge demand, its just Econ 101 peeps.

Actually, that's not true either. I'm not sure HOW it's determined, but it seems to be a multiplier over the T1 ships insurance value, fixed multiplier per-class.
