I happened to be passing through a gate the other night and my threts went off like a christmas tree, but lo and behold I was not under attack.
As I neared the gate I noticed off in the distance 3 small objects circling a lone flaming Thorax struggling to get to the gate.
If that was you guy's nice work. If it wasn't then whoever it was had their **** together. The two closest frigates were flaming a bit themselves but were still dishing out rockets and laser blasts without mercy. And they were moving kind of fast.
I really liked the idea of the Kestrel (the 3rd ship I could see rather clearly as he was closest to me)swooping in after the initial attack and unloading the missile barage, it was beutifully executed. I left in a hurry as the second wave of missiles struck the Thorax. I thought for sure that with all the fire comming out that it was about to blow and as I was unarmed and didn't want to be the next target I buggered off.
Even though you didn't splash the Thorax you did beat him, he ran for cover as soon as he could. I passed him in the next solar system a few minutes later with large flames comming from places in his ass they shouldn't have been comming from.
Very nicely done. Very nice.
I'm in a nice crusier now and love it but would like to know what configurations you like to use on these frigates. I still fight in my Punisher a lot and would love to try different things in it.
Have you thought of using Indy's for EW?

Good show for the frigate pirates though, iv been seeing alot of this happening around eve.
Frigates are so cheap and are very easy to equip.

Yes indeed. Its about time we start seeing people realize that there is a ton more to this game then playing the bigger more costly ship tread mill. This is not to say a single frigate will ever be able to take down a battleship (battleship shield recharge rate), but at the same time the battleship will for the most part never touch the frigate because of the large gun tracking speed.
The only current disadvantage is lag deaths. For a stopped frigate is a dead frigate (not that any other ship will give you much better protection in warping to a gate with lots of items around it)

One frig should however be for EW since a lot of people has drone interfacing III or IV and a thorax could dish out 8 heavies. They slice up cruisers with ease and then they'd surely make the frigs look elsewere for targets.
Is off to test stuff on the alternative server.

Keep on flaming, lamers.

What?!?! A Thorax not deploying 8 Heavy Drones?!?! What the hell? Screw that!!! Don't use a Thorax if you ain't carrying heavy drones. The Frigate Pods and cans should've been everywhere..... Hahaha |

I am not sure if that was us. My CEO says it likely was, as we had a Kestrel et. al. running around.
Sounds like you caught us on a good day. Heh. More often than not its us flaming in space. But we can put it to people who aren't ready for it... even when its Battleships.
Usually they call in massive amounts of help (which is completely understandable) and we have to get out.
For instance... here's what happened today:
There were five MF out and about who went looking for 4 S folks that we had seen in a nearby system. (Keep in mind we don't always plan on winning... just fighting and letting the chips fall where they may). One was in a Dominix, and he was the only one we saw in system at the time (there may have been othere, but we weren't sure). The Battleship hugged the station, so we couldn't engage with missiles.
But, we decided what the hell and attacked with what we had anyways... knowing we would likely lose.
We managed to jam him, but he had two cruisers on call to help that showed up in 15-20 seconds. These two were likely docked at the station... but we knew that, and still said what the hay.
We stayed and fought until it one of us was destroyed and we lost the jam on the Battleship.
So we tried to bug out. Only three of us managed to warp away safely... sorta. We could have logged out... but we wanted to see if we could get back home. Its easy to log out. Its hard to get home... and very interesting when facing multiple battleships (Arcane Technologies - who is also at war with us - showed up with many, many battleships to jam the way).
They ended up blowing us all up... and podded us all as well. Nice.
We don't mind getting blown up, it comes with the territory. Podding kind of sucks... but it too comes with the territory, we just don't do it... usually. Since Arcane Tech and 4 S see fit to pod us, we shall pod them as well... if, of course, we are lucky enough to kill one of their ships.
Anyway, they chased us all the way back to HQ, where 7 battleships and 2 cruisers sat outside of our station calling us COWARDS(?) for not coming out.
If the situation was reversed... they sure as hell wouldn't have come out.
Usually we will tell people when we are logging so they don't have to sit outside our base and wonder if the fight is over (it seems common courtesy, really - GAME REMEMBER?)... but Arcane Tech, and 4 S waited outside our HQ for over an hour on a foe that had gone to dinner.
The loudest talker of the bunch, lost all of his bravado when all of his buddies left. He feared only one online MF who was getting ready to go out (though he may not have nknow that), because the odds were finally somewhat closer (1 MF versus 1 Megatron... we'll give that a go ).
We don't care that they show up with 7 Battleships and 2 Cruisers, but really... talking smack from the safety of all that metal around you? Come now.
See you all out in space.

Hunting in frigates is the only way to do it, about the only problem we have is that it takes so long to kill a stranded ship that help usually turns up, or if you attack at a belt those pesky NPC can really screw your day.

I think Arcane Tech. needs to realize that if they have 3 or 4 battleships and 2 or 3 cruisers then we are NOT gonna fight. Sure frigates are cheap, but not cheap enough for obvious suicide runs.
If however, Arcane showed up with 5 or 6 frigates. Then that would be a fair fight, and the best would win. And even if Arcane lost (in frigates), my respect for them, which is currently at 0, would shoot through the roof.

Excellent Post! made me smile to realise that other people out there actually play this as a game, and not some virtual dollhouse that some of the carebear corps seem intent on turning EVE into..
Only got one thing to say to carebears - go Play Sims Online, its more your level.
Nice one ****akri - next time we are on a raiding spree, I'll see if you wanna come along

LMFAO!!!!!
I was that megathron who remained after all his colleagues and the other corp had left for bed/work/interesting things to do - the only MF in the system was omri who had been docked for the last 2 hours and CLAIMED to have gone out to the movies 45 minutes earlier lol. All other of your members in the system LOGGED OUT and had done for well over 40 minutes.
Perhaps, just perhaps I left due to complete and utter boredom after waiting 2 hours for a fight only to find the brave words of MF never ever match their actions? ---------------------------------------------------

So you sit there gloating that you camped a station that contained 1 frig pilot in your megathron battleship????
Talk about schoolyard bully syndrome. Read the Rules Of Conduct and Terms Of Usage

Jeez learn to read before making yourself look a fool.
Initially when all the others had left there were 5 of them docked in the station (the same number they claim they can kill a BS with) and one who warped in and then out again...
But one by one they log off.... until only omri (who no doubt was watching power rangers the movie at the cinema) remained...... then I left....

I dont think you are right my friend, even if you have the target locked down im sure you can still launch drones, I dont attack thorox's because of this in my BB, remember!! your drones attack the ship attacking you even without a target lock.
I am not a drone user, so i apologise if i am incorrect.

Seer: I didn't name you specifically for the purpose of not shaming you. If you want to do it yourself... well, I can't help that now can I?
Read very carefully what you typed. It is the truth... but maybe you just don't realize how sad it is really.
Four of the MF were Euro folk who had crashed (Um... poor choice of words for a ship pilot)... er, went to sleep, and logged off. When this happens we will USUALLY inform the bad guys that we have been fighting with that this is the case so they won't wastetheir time.
But your groups words (incessant chest beating... btw, stop wincing every time you hit yourself... it loses the effect), and the podding of our pilots, made the MF feel less than gentlemanly about the whole ordeal, and we decided to make you suffer a bit...
...because we knew you couldn't pass up an unfair fight.
According to YOUR QUOTE, you waited OVER 40 minutes on ONE frigate pilot in your battleship! Wow. That IS impressive.
Remember Seer... its chest thump then MEAN face.
Not chest thump - wince like a girl.

..... how can people who have logged off/crashed/insert appropriate bull here undock, crap their pants then dock again? How can they talk in the local channel??
You using macro's? cos if you are I think a GM should know :P

Lol Seer, stop making a fool of yourself. Anyway.. latest update:
- 2x thorax - 1x vexor
killed them today (not podded) with 3 frigates. unfortuantly no-one we are at war with so i took a bad sec. hit. guess i'll have to be good for a while.. hehe.
about the whole drones thing... i may appear to be wrong because these people did launch drones... however the drones did not attack. i believe they only attack if they were launched beforehand. so keep in ur drone bay if your jammed.

Before you go any further...let me ask you...who si more of a *****...the Frigates that attacked the BS and ran to hide in the station, or the groups of BS's that think they are powerful because they are making a buncha frigates hide? Silence yourself before you make yourself look like any more of a fool.
