Basically what I use for general ratting and PVP preparedness. I don't use injector so much, but in pvp I like to have it. The shield boost can suck down some cap. But I havent had the pleasure of many 1v1 lately so I am not too sure.
I use 425s. ____ "If your not dyin' your not tryin'." "Are you prepared to go all the way, Alexi?" DuGalle |

I have a question..... I just got my sleipnir a few days ago, and I think it's pretty amazing compared to my cyclone. BUT, I am troubled by something. The Item Database lists max targeting range as 45km, yet the actual targeting range seems to be 25km. What's the deal here? Is it a bug in the Database, or is the Sleipnir gimped on purpose? I'm just curious, as I have no intentions of giving up this ship now...... I'll deal either way but after running my Tempest with a targeting range of 80+km, it's a bit of a mindset shift.

Frankly I don't think I'm gonna be needing WCS with this ship anyway.
That's one heck of a penalty, though.

Meh, Somehow i think the person coming up with the setup is retarded since any setup can be viable.
EVE is turning into a "I'm faster than you and you can't do crap" Crap so might aswell go for a "typical" nano'ed out + inertia stabbed up Sleipnir.
Why tank the blob when you can run away..

Out of curiosity, why does every faction sleipnir setup uses domination shield mods instead of t2, gisti, or pith? Aren't domination same as t2 anyway? Are the fits that tight that the lesser reqs matter?

Sleipnir is very tight on cpu if you want good damage (Big guns/many gyros) with an XL tank, you gotta fit coproc or take away a good few gyros to make it fit with t2. The domi booster is also nice as it wont eat up your cap that fast as a t2 would. Regards,

Hello all,
Im looking for a ship that will be fast and fun and smashing through lvl3 missions, and am thinking of using a sleipnir, i've almost completed the training for one now but thought i would ask here if it is worth the investment or if my isk would be better spent elsewhere (consider i only really fly minnie ships with some skills in caldari).
So any advice on sleipnir pve for lvl3's setups ?
Kthxbye.

Edited by: Wrayeth on 14/04/2007 03:59:46 Doesn't look like this has been updated for revelations, so...
7 220mm vulcan autocannon II 1 medium nos
1 XL shield booster II 1 Y-T8 10MN MWD 1 warp disruptor II 1 invulnerability field II 1 medium electrochemical cap injector (800's)
2 gyrostabilizer II 1 damage control II 1 co-processor II 1 power diagnostic system II <-- for cap and shield recharge so you don't have to run your injector while MWDing; can be switched for another gyro
2 shield kinetic resist rigs
hornet EC-300 drones
77/75/77/69 resists with 825 boost/cycle
If you've got ISK to spare, switch the XL booster II for a Gist XL for reduced cap usage and increased boost per cycle. Also switch the invulnerability field to a dread guristas version. Lastly, switch the medium nos to a corpum a-type medium nos for the 19 km range (allows you to nos almost to your full weapon range and is also useful for defense against standard missile crows).
EDIT: The reduced CPU cost of faction modules should free up enough CPU that you don't have to run the coprocessor, though I don't know if it's enough to fit a third gyro in its place. If nothing else, you can always fit an istab. -Wrayeth "Look, pa! I just contributed absolutely nothing to this thread!"

Hey, I'm thinking about getting a Sleipnir but not sure if I shouldn't get a mael instead. A lot of your setups use expensive named equipment which I cannot afford atm.
I can use most t2 and t2 med projectiles but I can't use t2 large yet (if I was supposed to get a mael).
So first question is, which would be a better lvl 4 runner? Sleipnir or Mael and please, something affordable and tested on.
I know that Nighthawks do amazingly well on lvl 4s so I thought that the min field command ship would do well too
thx

having 3 dmg mods on any ship is pointless cause the 3rd mod gives almost no dmg or ROF increase. i would fit something else in place of the 3rd gyro....PDU or nano. something that will help you more than a 1% dmg increase. Thats just a guess on what the third dmg mod will give you, but i know its not enough to waste a slot on. Anyway:
PVP: 7x 220mm II, 1x Med named NOS
1x 10mn MWD II 1x Warp Dis II 1x Cap Injector II 1x Invuln II 1x Large shield Boost II
2x gyro II 2x named PDU 1x Dmg Ctrl II
rigs: Cap Control Circuit I Kinetic shield rig
PVE(lvl 4):
7x 425mm II, tractor beam or Nos
1x Gist A-type XL shield Boost 1x Gist shield boost amp 1x 10mn AB 2x whatever hardeners u need
2x gyro II 2x PDU 1x DMG cntrl II
Rigs: Shield kinetic rig, capacitor control circuit I or another shield rig.
Any other suggetions, we should start a thread for REV sleipnirs, things have changed alot compared to RMR.
please say so if you have better suggestions for the PVE or PVP setuip i posted would reallt like some critiquing (not sure if that is spelled right)

A 3rd damage mod actually still gives you about 5% to each bonus (ROF and damage). So its definately still worth it.
After that, no its not worth it.

Command ships level 4, AC spec 4, warrior t2 3 gyros with barrage = 580dps 2 gyros with barrage = 523ps
id say the 3rd gyro is more than worth it, over a bloody nano or power diag :P, if you decide to go in close with hail (some situation may call for it), the difference would be even larger :)

Actuallly the domination uses exactly the same amount of cap as a t2 and boosts exactly the same as well. Check it out
Xl t2 : 600 shield every 5 seconds for 400 cap.
domi xl : 480 shield every 4 seconds for 320 cap
So both of them boost 120 hp/s and use 80 cap/s to run.
Only reason u would fit a domi over t2 is for lower fitting requirements or just because u wanted to.
Edit: If i had the money to fit a ship how i wanted i would go
7 x 220 mm ac II 1 x corpum a-type medium nos
1 x 10 mn mwd II (or domi if u want to pimp) 1 x warp disruptor II (or domi) 1 x invun field II (or DG) 1 x Gist A-Type xl booster 1 x electro chem medium booster (or dark blood)

Edited by: Samus Newton on 19/07/2007 04:38:13 Great PVE setup! Ive been taking a break from pvp for the past couple weeks, left my 0.0 corp and am now concentrating on making money. So i have been running missions, i feel like such a carebear. Its not as heart pounding as pvp for the most part but there are times when when it gets hectic in missions as some of you may well know. Anyway here is my setup...kinda pricey but works very well. I can run any mission solo with this setup.
Hi: 7x 720mm II 1x Tractor Beam Mid: 1x Gist B-type large shield booster 1x Pith B-type shield boost amp 2x Whatever hardeners you need for specified mission 1x cap recharger II Low: 3x Gyrostab II 2x PDU II I can hit from anywhere within 50km depending on the ammo i use. The shield booster gives 446 shield every 3.2 secs @ 86 cap. The booster can run forever, cap holds at about 50%. The guns eat up battleships, battlecruisers and cruisers like nothing. I can usually Take out a BS before having to reload. Refire rate of about 6.5 secs...dmg modifier is 16.8. You use a lot less ammo with this setup. Going to run enemies abound 5 of 5 tomorrow, this one was pretty tough for me using autocannons. Though i think the last time i tried it i didnt have the gist booster and pith amp. I'll let you guys know how it goes. But like i said of all the lvl 4 missions i have run with this setup it works fantastically. If you have the money try it out. I bought the shield booster when gist larges were around 300 mil...they are up to about 600 mil now, same with the pith amp. Dont really need an AB cause you have the range so that you dont have to chase the rats down.
I also posted earlier in the thread that 3x dmg mods on anything was a waste of a low slot...turns out i was wrong, Oh and i am about to finish training surgical strike IV, should bring the dmg mod up to about 17.8 or so. I plan to keep training to get my dmg mod up to 19 or 20, uber pwnage!

Sleipnir over maelstrom anyday. Smaller and faster so torps on misisons wont affect you as much, same with enemy gun fire. Plus with 720 II's loaded on you can reduce an enemy battleships shields to nothing in 2 volleys. I found the setup i listed above works great. I ran the enemies abound 5 of 5 mission, and it worked well til i got webbed and was aggroed by about 10 BS's, 5 of which were fleet darkanas that put out all EM dmg. Once i took out a couple guys and popped some battlehips reducing the amount of dmg i was tanking it was smooth from there. I put out about 350-500 dmg per turret. Thats about 2400-3500 dmg every 6 secs. Then when i get into hull its insane, upwards of 700 dmg per turret. Anyway, i find this to be a great PVE setup. I set one up for pvp without faction mods and put a cap booster on. When out and got jumped by 4 guys in low sec. the tank held for about 1.5 mins. The medium cap booster doesnt inject cap fast enough in order to be effective with an XL shield booster against 4 guys. Though had i 1 vs 1 anyone of them they would have gotten owned!
