Unfortunately my sarcastic post got shutdown by Laqum. It was still funny though.
Now to more important matters, ugliest ship in the Eveverse:
Min ships are pretty bad but the Moa is just the ugliest piece of tritanium composite floating around.

I think the worst ship is BY FAR the Dominix. A real shame as well, as it's my favorite ship to fly. The second worst would have to be the Scropion, which is my second favorite ship. I think there is a group of developers in Iceland that harbors true hate for me :)

The Moa, hands down. I could get used to the front, but what the hell was CCP thinking with those 2 engine... stalk... things...? I think the minmatar have the best looking battleships though.

I think the ugliest is the Domi. It looks like cross between a screwed up porpoise and an upside-down sneaker. My bro, who flew one for a while, affectionately called it the flying terd. And the hilarious thing is that it is so freakin huge for a battle ship!

The Burst...
I've harbored an intense disliking for this ship ever since one of my agents gave me 40 of the damn things as a reward.
They're hideous. Looks like a dead flatfish that's been dashed onto the rocks, and then picked slowly and unmercifully apart by a starving seagull.
And then it started to decompose leaving the broken skeleton of the beaten animal with only a thin layer of rotting meat to protect it from the elements.
Interesting times await... |

IMO all the ships in EVE are ugly. I honestly think whoever designed them was drunk at the time. Whenever you make a design that doesn't have symmetry, it's going to look ugly. This is because almost everything in life has symmetry. I have no idea why they went out of their way to avoid it. The only thing I dislike about EVE. Pity.
*edit* There are a select number of ships that do have symmetry. However, the vast majority do not (caldari *cough*).

I dunno what the Ugliest ship is I'm just not familiar with enough of the ships. The Moa is definitely not great looking, neither is the Obelisk...very odd looking. Though I think personally the Rifter is one of the better looking ones I have seen.
Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder as they say, the Stabber is sweet from the front...the back though is another story...even with that one as someone else pointed out, it does strike me as odd that they seemingly went out of their way to avoid symmetry at all costs

I know ill get rebuked for this thousands of times over....but i honestly think the uglies ship in the game (besides minmitar) is the megathron. Everyone likes it but i cant get around the fact it looks messed up. I hate megathrons.
Best lookinh ships in the gam in order from best to the next one down are: apocolyps (i love this one) then the armageddon (sp) and the omen. oh and the thorax is a runner up.

Exequror has horrible skin, model is tolerable but skin... Some minmatar ships are fugly and some caldaris too. General fault with them is that skins are just of poor quality. I hope CCP revamps older models and skin at some time.

I am gonna say the Osprey and Moa. They both look like mutated ducks. Not a big fan of the Caracal either.
Although in-game the Moa and Caracal look kinda cool actually. They just dont photograph well. In screenshots they are ugly as hell. The Caracal looks like a real cruiser that has been starved to death.

Moa is cool aswell, its got that whole "metal chicken that swallowed a washing machine" thing going. :P Looks very original, and still like a warship, with the line of 250mm's on the side.
I think the CCP designers seriously need to lay off the prophecy-like designs though, proph looks un-amarr. And the fact that the Absolution looks like a prophecy makes my cry, as its so awesome apart from its looks. The damnation almost makes the crappy model acceptable but... the coercer model should have been the battlecruiser, as that looks completely awesome, yet the ship blows chunks stats wise.
Minmatar, the idea of the "old style" minnie ships is nice, but badly implemented. 2d planes + low res textures = looks craptastic. The cyclone on the other hand is awesome.

Wreathe is not that hot, but kinda funny... Prowler on the other hand is really cool. For some reason it reminds me of that "time-train" from Back to the Future.

Call me mental if you will, but I quite like the wreathe/prowler look, it makes me feel like I went back to the wild west and stole the doc's time machine train from back to the future three. And the minmatar shuttle is freakin' cool looking, a larger version of this model would be a sweet looking interceptor. Kind of sad that our best looking ship is the bloody shuttle lol (from what I've seen so far) but at least we have the rifter, it looks pretty cool too.

Ugliest? Toss up between the Inquisitor and the Tormentor. Mostly the Inquisitor, though. All the other Amarr ships just ooze style, but these two are literally sausages bent into a crescent moon shape. Icky icky icky.

Burst, followed closely by the caldariesque 'improved' Huginn with the preganant whale not far behind. Most Caldari ships wont win a design price neither.
Cruor, Ashimmu, Sigil, Thrasher, Cyclone are nice, with the Stabber on top - especially when it got some structural damage.

The Dominix always reminds me of Lister with space mumps. Damn ugly ship.
It's hard to say which is the single ugliest ship though. I dislike most of the Caldari ships though, They make one side really awesome, then***** it up when designinf the other side! It's like they have 2 different design teams for each side who don't talk to each other!
Some of the Matari ships are butt ugly too!
Infact I rekon that the Scythe is the ugliest ship in the game, I even get embarrased flying the ugly *****

Prophacy is just the ugliest ship I think, it looks like a fat chicken..
The Zealot , Retribution or Arby on the other hand are all very good looking ships in my opinion..
As you can see I have an Amarrian tendancy, however when all you tend to do is fly it, you have alot of time to wander on its design...

Iteron: Reminds me of a vaccumm cleaner hose and brush.
Apoc: with all those wires sticking out, it looks half completed like the battlestar from Star wars 1.
Best looking has gotta be the Prophecy, it looks like one mean bird of prey. Slightly overweight but obviusly eats well so it shows how effective a killer it is

Typhoon.
You all can fly around in your dainty little saucers, but real warriors fly an intimidating Beast like the Typhoon. I like it because it fits the low techyness, brute-forcyness of the minmatar storyline.
Minmatar frigates rock. Slasher (especially Stiletto), Rifter (especially Jaguar), Vigil (especially Cheetah).

Exequeror - horrible textures.
I can't believe people are slagging the Domi, it has one of the best textures in the game. It has character. The Megathron has no character, it looks like a giant block of aluminium. Or a tuning fork. |

I vote for Bellicose for the ugliest category. Seems CCP went out of there way to make Minmatar ships ugly and awkward. The Stabber I'm trying to get use to but what's with the med and small propulsion units off the back?
As far as best lookin ship I haven't seen enough to decide between. The Rifter/aguar/Wolf kinda reminds me of a muscle car. Cool.

When I built my first Griffin, I thought someone had sold me a messed-up blueprint. What are all those thrusters in the back pointing sideways? The mere thought of bringing something as ugly as this into existence still fills me with disgust - and shame.
Executioners I like very much, even with those odd dangling wires they forgot to put inside.

Domi: I don't really dislike it but .. I dunno, it's just totally uninspiring. It's a lump.
Typhoon: Bleh. Left over bits from Tempests glued (maybe) together. Nobody minds that it is a big black tube.
Raven: Real wasted potential. The Raven should buck the Caldari's weird asymmetry thing - with two symmetrical "swooping" wings, it'd pwn all sorts of biznitches.
Exequror: Yep, weird model, sneezed-out skin. Absolutely no excuse for this one.
Scorpion: Aside from the nice Scorpion tail, I don't know what was going through the designers' heads when they put this one together. It's not that it's especially bad, but who the hell would come up with that and think "yeah, that's a battleship"?
Flycatcher: Sexier version of the Cormorant which is - especially with those badass lights on the bottom - very nice as well.
Crusader: I don't care if it looks like a Tonkatoy, it is fecking badass.
Ferox: Am I the only one who can look at a Ferox head on and see a rather angry, fat man looking back at me? Always reminds me of the Fat Controller from Thomas the Tank Engine.
Apoc: Would be fine if it didn't have random spiky bits coming out of it for no obvious reason.

Ugly ships?
Favourite ugly ship?
Lets see...
All Minmatar ships, except the small train and the big train.
All Caldari ships (especially scorp), except the cormorant and the ferox.
Most gallente ships. Some are okay, while Thorax and Megathron are the most beautiful ships in game. Yes, french seem to be very weird ^^.
Amarr is the only race that has moreless acceptable ships.
Although the crucifier, the maller ,the augoror and the second half of the apoc are pretty ugly, too.
(gotta laugh every time i see an apoc: this model just hasn't been finished :lol: )
Conclusions:
1. Apart from a handful models, eve has the most most-ugliest spaceships ever to be seen in a game.
2. Remarkable: ships got more beautiful with Exodus. Great job of getting the drugs out of the designer's body. :D
3. Yes, ships have to be symmetrical to be beautiful. It still makes technical sense, even without gravity. Apart from that, we (man) unconsciously, evolutionary, genetically look for, need and want things to be (moreless) symetrical to be "beautiful".
4. If the Exodus trend continues, tier3 Battleships will at last be battleships i won't have to be ashamed to fly with.
Sorry, but i simply love this topic in EVE. Every time again! :D
