Edited by: Raluque on 21/03/2006 16:26:25 Im not talking about skills here im talking about cost.. Whats the average price of setting up a corp? 1.5mil...
How many days does it take to get 1.5mil if you start eve ? Around 2 in an Ibis mining/ratting..
Theres far too many Under 10man corps roaming about, which don't actually do anything.. Im just thinking maybe raise the cost to 10mil? or have concord impose a "corporation recognition fee" of maybe 1.5mil every month? Not much changes but that slight isk flow may just change things...
Just my 2 cents
Constructive ideas/criticisms only please.. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, and lucky you would be able to swallow up all those newly corp-less people into gigantic megacorps. This is such a thinly-veiled attempt to shut out your competition it's sick.

Not everyone wants to belong to a huge corporation and be just one of the zillion unknown member of that corp. As in the real world there are one man corporations till corporations holding hundred of thousand peoples.
So, EVE just reflect the real world very much in this case.

Every corp has to start somewhere, and you dont instantly have 100 members within an hour of starting a corp.
A corp is also a great way to share resources between your accounts and friends if need be, which is in my eyes one of the building blocks of a corporation.

Oh no, frigates are really cheap and everyone with just a tiny bit of cash and training, can use them, clearly there's far too many of them and this is a big problem.
Sorry, I don't see the problem - corps all have to start somewhere. If corp members have fun, and enjoy themselves, well, so be it.
I'd _rather_ see 100,000 1 person corps, than I would 40,000 people in newbie/npc corps. -- We are recruiting

Actually,
I feel that it's to hard to create a corp. It took a friend of mine a month to do it. Not all people can play more than a couple of hours a week so getting the extra 1.5 mil takes a while for a new player. They also need to get going in the game and usually don't have an extra 1.5 mil just laying around nor the skill training time to waste right away.
Perhaps a two tiered corp setup? Anyone can setup a corp with a level 1 skill and say 250k isk. but it's limited to one office and can only have 3 members all of the same race. You need to upgrade your corp to have multiple offices, say a fee of 2.5 mill per office, possibly tied to a skill level also?
Probably a bad idea, but...
As a side note, I like the idea of a lot of smaller corps. I don't see any problems with them.
Suren.

why is under 10 members bad? being incorperated is far more then just being there, its a method of asset management and asset protection.

what happens to you when you corp disolves ?
I do think that old corps with no active members should be "disolved" or be able to "buy them out" or "Merger" so you can consilidate smaller companys.

"Because it's irritating" isn't a good enough reason. Pirates are irritating, too. Let's not go down that path.
The 1.6 million isk I spent to form my own solo corp was a decent chunk of cash to me at the time. After a few months of playing, it became apparent that I needed to leave the npc corp. I'm not the sort of person who believes in corp-hopping, so I created my own to tide me over until I meet up with a corp where I truly belong.
There's no need to tax me just because you don't like my playstyle.
------------------------------------------------------------------- One noob. One corp. One complete waste of 1.6 million isk. |
