All good things come to an end.
After a three year rollercoaster ride through eve ATUK will be closing its doors after this weekend. ATUK as many of you know has played a major part in eve as we all know it. Our beginning was as an industrial corp by the name of NBT. New Birmingham Technologies which we carried over from beta. But
as became apparent we sucked at it and the rest is history.
We close our doors with heavy hearts, nothing this great can be accomplished if not for the determination and contributions of its many members. Rather than have our name wither and fade we will close at our peak and let our story
become legend, preserving all the hours each member spent in our corp, in glory.
Will people still see the odd ATUK member in space? Well apart from me and a few friends all other members shall be moving onto pastures new.
With all of that said I would like to personally thank all of our enemies and friends alike for the fun they have provided and giving me personally the drive to play this very demanding game for the hours I did. I would like
to send a specially thankyou out to all 5 members and the old CA members for giving ATUK as a corp a chance to make a name for itself fighting with you and against you. And finally i would like to thank Evol for giving me a measuring stick to which judge how the corp is progressing.
Once again, its been a pleasure, thankyou.

if script feels like it he will answer all questions but i guess its wait and see for the public.
As for the "reasons" they are not related to eve in any way or form and are internal (hence not up for discussion).

3. The bottom line is ATUK is kept together with the ammount of hours I had to devote to such a large corp. As many ppl know 5 years ago i broke my back, but now its healed and its time for me to rejoin the real world. So The other directors and myself decided rather than we put our limited free time into trying to keep ATUK afloat, we will let it go out at the top as EVE's largest pure PVP Corp

I too have to admit most of my corp has been impressed with working with [ATUK] over the past several months.
It is true once everyone is on the same teamspeak that things pick up quickly.
If [ATUK] indeed is splitting up, any US timezone players might find Damage Unlimited Inc. [-DU-] a solid PVP corp with some nice operations.

i remember rampages through FA space in NGRU small squad or what was it like 8 of us? it was that expansion when people were using that exploit where if you stopped warp you took no damage. (*cough* no names evolution *cough*)

Fighting against atuk and flying along side atuk has been two of my greatest experiences in eve. Probably the two greatest. Ive managed to learn more from you guys than anyone else. OMG I pwned atuk so badely they disbanded. And while I'm at it, I also killed FA, Xetic, PA (twice) and BOB.

By ATUK standards I'm a noob at 16 mil skill points and 1 yr of play...that being said, the three months that I have spent in the corp have been a whirlwind of carnage and mayhem in the north, and it has been the most fun that I have had playing this game...period. It looks like I came on board just at the right time, because learning from these guys has been an invaluable experience.
Props to Script for dedicating the time that was necessary to steer this juggernaut. ATUK's legacy is one of a corp that has proven to be undeniable in any/all endeavors.
Hopefully I will see you all on the flipside.

I, Clay101, have had the priveledge and honor to say that I (and my corp) have flown against you guys. I also have the prveledge to say that I (and my corp) have flown along side you. I was around when you guys were around 30-50 members, watched you grow to the powerhouse you were just a few days ago. I remember the ATUK frig/cruiser squads that caused us much dismay and provided a very fun fight if it were to occur. I remember flying with you boys in large fleets against an enemy that trembled as we neared.

Wow I've fought and smacked in local with Atuk on many occasions.I'm not a huge fan of atuk,prob due to always being my nme.Though as that is said being a pvp game, you realaize it won't be the same with out your nme's.
If this is true and not a joke.Good luck to all and sorry to see the fights in the north end with you guys tbh.I'm sure some will remain.Though, if RL calls then I wish you and whoever else god speed.

Damn.... After reading this I'm confused and don't know what to say... Even though I've only ever known ATUK as an enemy, I wish this was just an early april fools joke, as that will be this weekend.
But, I can say you guys more or less taught me how to fight as a major adversary during the GNW. I'd say I personally learned a lot from fighting ATUK/EVOL/RKK.
Hmmm, now I need to find out who else I need to deal with to recover the rest of my assets from Venal, since I finally got back into the game.

It is defenetly not a joke.
I'm shocked as well as most of us here.
I was fighting ATUK in FA, and in F-E, got smacked by them hard sometime. But after we comed togather, and i was able to know them better, it turned out they are a great bunch of ppl. Dedicated, and professionals. It is a realy sad to see this great name go.
Best of luck to every one of you, and a hunge THANK YOU for everything you did to help us. Your help was biger in this short time than any allys gived to us in the past. Hats off and farewell.

I'm afraid to announce it is indeed the end of an era for EVE.
ATUK, my corp from day one of this great game, has lived its term, and in the years since we began it's been a rollercoaster ride, one that has been steered [brilliantly] by N00b Scriptor.
Script realised straight away that to actually WIN in this game requires dedication, and for years now he has dedciated himself to making ATUK great.
He has been helped by a core of great pilots and directors, and also by remembering that the key to EVE is having fun.
I like to think we leave behind a lasting legacy consisting of 2 main things:
1. We were REALLY good at killing people.
2. We proved that one Corp can make a diference. A real diference.
I think the EVE universe will be a diferent place without ATUK stalking its jumpgates.....
Good luck to Script, and all my fellow ATUK'ers (especially original crew) and also thanks to all our enemies and allies (often the same people, haha!) who have made our time with ATUK such fun.
PS at the end of the day, Script is right...we were rubbish at being an Industrial Corp.

I have no doubt that this is absolutely genuine - but it asks more questions than it answers.
It will be interesting to see whether there is a diaspora of former ATUK pilots, drifting towards different corps, or whether there will be the formation of a new corp, part of .5. and ATUK in all but name (and one or two people). Or maybe the ATUK crew have other plans in mind, and other alliances to join, until we see the tags change, I have the feeling they are not going to tell.
It will be interesting to see. I get the feeling that we haven't seen the last of the majority of them.
Anyway, no matter what happens GL to all of the ATUK pilots, regardless of what they have chosen to do.

(you as in orgiginal members) are ATUK and no one else can be.
So you dont end up like m0o with a 1000 incarnations lowering
themself every time they woke up for a few months.

Those 4 weeks in ATUK have been a real top quality experience. Really nice pilots, a leadership dedicated to its task as I ve rarely seen and experienced it. Sad that it wont last longer

for the little months I known, and almost all eve-life I was lived along side -5- and had good fight with you and against you. I've only been playing in 0.0 for about 7 or 8 months now, and all I known was fighting you or with you, its going to be different with out you along side with out that tag on.
I just hope something good happens here.
Just remember the good times eve just remember the good times.
oh BTW, how many kills did we get on you in hualers, I forget :) 8 or 9 lol. Yea them hualers fight back ya know.

Well, gotta say that one came as a huge surprise. Got a mixture of emotions going here. Without ATUK in the game I can see that Eve has lost something important and in that sense it's a loss we'll all feel. But on the other hand if I'm honest I won't be crying over the demise of a corp thats caused so many problems for people up North recently. But regardless of how I feel to the corp ATUK had some of the best pilots I've seen in this game and I'm sure many of them will go onto other things and they will be a huge asset to any corp they join.

Ok, now that I've collected myself, and gotten over my shock and disbeleif.
Even though I've always known you as an enemy corp, I will always have respect for what you've done in the eve universe. I can say I am probably one of the few people who never feared you, but I have always respected ATUK.
I only wish, as a former member of the PA, and director of the last corp to leave it, that we could of given you a proper fight this time around. Unfortunately, that was not able to happen. Some times I sit back and watch vids from the GNW, back when PA could still fight well, and defend ourselves from ATUK/EVOL/RKK/BNC. And I'll always wish we could of given you that kind of fight again.
Having spent almost 2 years at the wrong end of your barrels, all I can say is that ATUK will be missed and Remembered.

ATUK wree always in my opinion the strongest and best led corp in the whole of eves history.
Ive always missed the fights we had against you back when i was in CA and youd setup inside curse fecking up people. And then i enjoyed the times flying with you all as allies.
Gd luck to all atuk memebers in whatever path they now choose.

I am rather cinical (spelling) and would like to see what happens in a few days or so.

I can honestly say I am sad to hear this.
Having longterm enemies with a history of war and vendetta between you is part of the enjoyment of this game. For almost 2 years I have fought against ATUK as it has grown and changed. You have come a long way. But when leadership can't be on 24/7 it's almost impossible to manage a corp/alliance of that size. Kudos to you for going out on a high note rather than sliding down into oblivion.
Respect to Atuk. I hate you, have hated you, will hate you. But I hate the fact that you are leaving even more.

ATUK did bring something in EvE and yes they succed puting a Mark in the game.

If you loved PvP n00b was the best CEO you could find. We had 0 industry and 0 desire for it we fell in love with the pretty explosions and never looked back. Thanks to all who ever fitted a gun and came after us, you where the reason we logged in every day. EvE will continue without ATUK and many of its members will find new glory but we will ever be proud of what we accomplished in ATUK!

In case it's true, good luck in your future. I never trusted Atuk even when we were blue back in my early Xetic days, they always seemed "evil" to me
Although i never had the chance to see you on the field as much as my corpmates and allies have, i can safely say that a decent arch-enemy will be missed, but the attitudes of some will certainly not be.
In any case, it makes for a boring game when "old" names lose/disband like in this case (IF and WHEN it happens,i still don't buy it)/plainly disappear. When the war in the north is over, i bet every "homeless" one and their mother, with enough SPs and time in the game will be trying to join BoB.

Seriously I'm sure there are lots of good players in ATUK that I'd be happy to have in my corp or FA. The problem is, it's not up to me. Just because they've been enemies doesn't mean they wouldn't be considered. In fact I know of a few former enemies that are in FA corps now, not naming names, so it's not impossible.
Oh and Saturday I'm quiting the game. Yes you can have all my stuff.

I gotta say, my time in ATUK was quite fun, plenty of good pilots passed thru those doors. Titan, Maasu, Drunkeh, Lung, ***zon, Zerander, Firehawk, Pyro, upinu, and yes even you Kayo.

StateCorp have been fighting ATUK since our very first steps into 0.0 space.
We've hated to fight them. We've been bored by their warfare style, and disgusted by their local smacktalk. But I have a great amount of respect for their ability. They've repeatedly shown themselves to be far better at this game of Eve.
They've been our consistent enemy that has driven us to improve, and I actually feel sad that they're ending.

He is entitled to his comments as i guess he was entitled to petition some of the smacktalk directed at him over the past 3 years from ATUK members.
By our criteria, we haven't lost at any point of time, at least while I've been in CELES, and we're certainly not losing right now.
I remember the CELES - ATUK war in empire when i began playing, witnessed a few fights with no smack exchanged, and chatted to Kayosoni a lot in the past. I watched the FA campaign vids as a newb and learned from them. You guys get my respect for fighting ability, at the very least, and I'm sure you'll still be the other side of my guns for some time in the future. Good luck.

That Atuk was most known for their smack in local and forums posts. TRUE!!!!!! Name a huge alliance or anyone that has been defeated by Atuk or even 5 ALONE...they have always help or picked on weak targets.
I will be sad to see any major corp leave or disband in this game.Not as much if those players still hang around the game.However this is my opinion and I don't care if you like it or not.Matter fact the only reason I post is when I see nonesense and it needs to be corrected.

Well at first I thought this was another early april fools joke, but after talking to former corpmates in Atuk I realized that it isn't a joke.
To n00b, whom I fought many battles with while I was in FA, good luck with your RL, we all know thats what counts despite most of us avoiding it like the plague Atuk had a good run and despite fighting them every chance I got I always enjoyed it(even with the smack :) and I got a kick out of being a permanent entry into your bio, which sadly got erased recently :/ )

There are a few of Atuk I have always respected, it's the lack of control over most that has made my reading forums or local intresting.It has also made me take certain stance and have a opinion.After 100's of posts of smack and local full of smack, I took away my own opinion.

Seriously, that's what was my single dislike in regards to Atuk. Some of their most prominent members can't even stand the possibility of other people disagreeing with them. Too much elitist behaviour over what is actually a hobby/game/passtime.
You ask the guy with the alt to post with his main. Well, the single Celes guy who said a couple of negative things here, received a series of the classic replies we all have come to know and love, even though he posted with his main.
So, in short, nice of you accomplishing whatever it was, good luck in the future and chill out a little bit. The reason a lot of people are not as good as others in this game is simple. It's not that you are so much better by nature, it's just that you take this seriously enough. ANYONE who can take a game that seriously has a higher possibility of increased success, don't fool yourself thinking you were something special.
You were just serious about it,well organised and you obviously had more time available to devote here,which imo is the single most important thing for success in this game. Others can do it as well with varying degress of success, but not everyone bothers to. After all, it's never about "bravery,balls,honor", what people think of you and what not, it's about having fun to the extent of available time and affordable risks.
P.S. I still don't buy this untill i see it play out

Because some people dont like Atuk (omg can it really be?!). This is a public forum and people have the privelige of posting their opinions. The number of times a completly irrelevant comment from Celes, has turned into UBER smack from Atuk, can probably not even be counted.

I first fought and started despising Atuk..probably when they went to spank FA the first time. It amazed me how so many muppets can play together in one corp and actually use smack as a way of playing.
I am yet to see anything anywhere to change my opinion, so hence I stated it.

first i thought i wouldnt reply after just saying my thing on the first pages but the smack is strong here and i thought ill try to fireman it down before abdalion has to do it.
despite the other posts i actually have to thank both Darth and WW for their different (and opinion based) replies.

For 3 reasons:
1) So much anger, hatred and frustration in your words, we seem to have rubbed you in the right way. Your respect (or lack of) doesnt matter to me at all, and i guess most in atuk share this view because we know we have made an impact on you and got to you. Not the char but the person.
So Thank you.
2) Whenever i doubted Scripts decision about closing doors, going out ontop and all the other stuff he wrote in his initial post. Looking at celestial apoc tells me he is right. I wouldnt want Atuk to become a non-achiever corp which only works from empire and just is a shadow of former glory, while still making threats based on long lost power.
So Thank you again.
3)Last but not least every new and unexperienced player will learn that whenever you make a post there will always be some empire guy (obe is in empire right?) who has a strong opinion about it and needs to smack.
So Thank you for beeing the living example here, may new players learn the ropes.
Now to WW, unlike darth there is only 2 reasons why i want to thank you.
1) For beeing so addicted with Atuk. You admitted to spend you gaming and online time reading old posts, writing lengthy posts and you generally tie your heart to us.
Thank you, im honoured we have such an impact on ppl, it shows despite all the smack we did something right if ppl bother and do the legwork as you called it.
2) For really showing what a person Script is. You flamed him because his bio smacked former enemies. Enemies who became friends in this game, even wingman and m8s. Compare him to Darth Solo who wears his grudge after 2 years, threatens players who leave his enemy corp and is generally full off ill feelings and smack towards ppl he mostly never met- Ingame or on the forums.
Thank you for making the differences between Script and Darth far more obvious then any subjective Atuk driven post could have done.

From all of your comments I can only assume that you've been shot dead by ATUK repeatedly with no clone. I understand people hating ATUK because they're good and you're on the receiving end. It's frustrating (been there, done that). We had our lil smackfests with them, but to be honest it was fun :)
ATUK have shown to be very honorable opponents and even better allies than I ever though. In the month or two we've had a nap with [5] (mostly ATUK in tribute but also others) they've proven to be more reliable and more honorable allies then we ever had in PA/NBSI or any other northern entity. Oh, I shouldn't forget KAOS either

Just a few thoughts with my time in ATUKà
My first stint was a few years back when the US Crew consisted of 7 of us with Pyro as our FC. And one thing you learned right away was not to do Wednesday night ops with him (almost as bad as StanÆs ops now :P) But we were a tight nit group that would make a made dash up the gauntlet if a fellow brother or sister in my case needed help. As things change like they always do, I left and care-bearÆd it for a bit but found myself coming back to ATUK once again. It was different from before, but did it still have the same ôI got your back mateö most definitely. Of course by this time new people/corps merged in, some of the old guys were still there but it still had the same feeling. If you needed something like kit or a ship, all you had to do was ask. I was home once again.
Now not all families are perfect and who would want one that was. Do some of us smack talk more then others, yes. Does Kayo like to look at cat girls, yes. Do we have a full-time staff of forum *****s, yep and they are very good at their job :P And does Script post links that we all know we shouldnÆt look at, but do anyway just to see if it was worse then the last one we looked at, yes. But that makes us who we are. This is ôOur Familyö and we like it like that.
Not everyone will like us, and we are okay with that. People may say things bad about us, but that is what people do when they are jealous when they know we have something special and they donÆt. I donÆt have time or want to look at all the bad things that people have posted about us in this thread. So unless you have been in ôOur Familyö keep the smack/flames to yourself. You have no idea what you are saying.
I would like to thank Script for doing things with this corp that no one said we were able to do, and that I was a small part of making that happen. Ask any corp member old or new and they will say the same thing. Script is one of the most brilliant Fleet Captains in Eve. And they would be willing to sacrifice anything just to be in one of his ops. I wish you well and I look forward to flying along side my fellow brothers and sisters once again.
ATUK maybe gone, but it will never be forgotten.

I'm saying that Celes gets their laughs from staying as they are, by not evolving into something bigger. While people like (most of) Atuk calls this being 'failures'.

Now to WW, unlike darth there is only 2 reasons why i want to thank you.
1) For beeing so addicted with Atuk. You admitted to spend you gaming and online time reading old posts, writing lengthy posts and you generally tie your heart to us.
Thank you, im honoured we have such an impact on ppl, it shows despite all the smack we did something right if ppl bother and do the legwork as you called it.
2) For really showing what a person Script is. You flamed him because his bio smacked former enemies. Enemies who became friends in this game, even wingman and m8s. Compare him to Darth Solo who wears his grudge after 2 years, threatens players who leave his enemy corp and is generally full off ill feelings and smack towards ppl he mostly never met- Ingame or on the forums.
Thank you for making the differences between Script and Darth far more obvious then any subjective Atuk driven post could have done.
Ouch on the CELES front.. harsh, but IMO true.
Of course disagree with Kcel Chim, But not worth goign into it because we wont sway each others argument.

Someone said that we always pick on weaker forces. That is inescapable of course when you consider that we are or were the strongest force in EVE. Fortunately I had the pleasure of fighting against the odds on a number of occasions. We frequently allied with other corps and alliances but the majority of our operations remained independant and I think that contributed to our unity and success.
I would like to thank everyone that we have fought against for the pleasures of mutual smacktastik lagdeath, and everyone that we have flown with for the honour.
I should retract those statements for Darth Solo because holding a grudge seems to be the done thing these days. I regret however, that I cannot summon the strength to deathmark your whole corporation for the eternity of their lives so we'll settle for a few rude gestures at the monitor and leave it at that.
I must spare a moment for inner reflection and question whether a corp that is all about 'fun' could be so consumed by hatred on my account. The answer of course is yes, and all because of the ticker you love to hate ~ [ATUK]
That to me says that we made a difference, we played the game and won. Big up CCP for making a game where the actions of a player actually mean something.

Most of the flames and ego clashing on this board comes from overlooking a couple of simple facts:
1) Everyone is biased to varying degrees, don't deny it as it's human nature.

I've had a couple of corpmates who would keep quiet in local until they were provoked, then all hell broke loose, really "strong" smacktalkers, but i was on TS all day with them and they were nice,fun people. I'm sure people on the enemy side are like that as well. The fact that i'm not on their TS to know about it doesn't necessarily make it untrue.
If you pass poorly-worded negative judgement on someone expect them to fire back, instead of being an idiotic hyprocit and cry "smacktalk" when the other side responds to your flame. This applies equally to Celes,Atuk and everyone else of us. I still don't like Atuk and what it stands for in this universe, but i don't class them all as a bunch of morons just because a couple of their members have a tendency to spout some constant annoying drivel.

The ****talk you speak of from certain corp members was caus they just generally didnt like you or some of your members. I dont like you or some of your members, however i do like some of them. We couldnt give a **** if you wanna flame us on the boards. ATUK achieved more than CELEST ever could or ever will. So I ask again, put a***** in it and do something useful with your character ingame.

Because some people dont like Atuk (omg can it really be?!). This is a public forum and people have the privelige of posting their opinions. The number of times a completly irrelevant comment from Celes, has turned into UBER smack from Atuk, can probably not even be counted.

Well eve will certainly be better without n00b and his smacktalk (I still remember the rather unspeakble things he would say in local that even resulted in temp bans). In the end that probably means that EVE will be better off without his attitude (and those of a few other notable members) which turned a skilled PvP force into a negative force for the state of the EVE universe.
Of course the question will ultimately be whether nice guys can create something as efficient and succesful as ATUK was (nice being defined by attitude not their in game political stance). Hopefully most of the members that aren't leaving game will give it a try and prove it can be done.
