I think you'll FIND, that works better than crying. And YES, I mean it'll help the other roids grow faster.

LOL I just love listening to people who have their heads burried up CCP's or their own A$$.
Large Quantities of Megacyte are needed for ship building and this ONLY comes from mining Bis. So kindly pull your head out of your a$$. If you are just mining for cash lesser roids are fine but for ships bis is absolutely necessary.

Edited by: LeKjart on 17/09/2003 17:16:28 Just to let you know the status of this:
The micro-roid bug is a 'kind of' bug. The thing actually works as it was designed, but the player behavior wasn't as expected. We basically expected players to move around to undepleted belts when a certain belt was depleted (a little bit like resting a field in farming), and the depleted belt would slowly grow back (as it does).
We will make certain changes to this, but we prefer doing it at the same time as a change in roid distribution that has been in the pipeline for some time now. That change should be a server-only patch.

Thanks LeK.
However, I think the issue of roids growing larger in radius than is physically mineable IS a bug. How can we 'cull' the fields if we actually can't mine the low-end roids?
I think what you need to do is simply place a cap on individual roid size. Or at least make the distance detection from the edge of the roid and not the center.

Lek - with this ongoing bug, plus the new changes...
how the hell do you expect people to get bistot? Please check back tomorrow and see what it's selling at.
At the moment my 2 characters are in base rearranging their inventory - my minign guild can;t mine, and neither can any of our contempories.
I really think you should pay more attention to this as it is now casing a HUGE problem in game, and should be addressed forthwith.
This is gonna turn out like EQ where ppl ni small corps can;t compete with Ubercorps - who for now are the only ones gonna be able to get bistot. I mean - now the people who already have BS are instantly at a disadvantage - where do you expect someone to get 2k mega now? By tomorrow I anticipate prices will be over 20k per unit. Mining is now impossible (well we had to give up with 2 BS protecting and being shot at at 200k range by NPC pirates with huge missile volloys).
This is a serios design flaw, and as lead designer I wish you would tackle it head on and do it quickly before ppl walk away.

Except that Crokite/Bistot/etc. aren't growing.
At all.
They respawn at a tiny size, and if left alone are the exact same size 2 weeks later. ------------ Ezra Cornell pe0n, Xanadu Corporation |

I'm bumping this as we got a dev response form the main guy, and I'm not sure that ppl have heard the news on their opinion of why this bug is not to be fixed anytime soon...

I would guess they are using it as a means to artificialy re-inflate cruiser and bs prices. Tbh i would like to see most cruisers double in price, to just below the level oat the start of the game.

It would be nice to see this resolved since NPC fighting has gotten slow as molases.
Large corps relocating every time the Bistot runs out in a region is not practicle since there is a shortage of office space (another thing that needs to be adressed, 16 isn't enough).
A manual respawn this weekend would help out a bunch since of the sickning weather.
... you will see more and more marketing which in turn will bring you more players to torture. |

LaKjart, Any idea on when the ore problems will be patched if it is server side, would/will we get a statement telling us it is/will-be fixed?
Also when you do fix this, will we see more Bistot, and other valuable roids coming back into empire space, like 0.1 sec staus systems? Finnaly if you could, any update to when we will see the new ore comming into TQ? Would be nice to start stocking it for future purposes.
Thanks ahead of time, Waxer. |

All well and good about moving around LeKjart but entire REGIONS are depleted of Bis, with nothing but baby roids left behind. This is unacceptable and you waiting until deep-core mining is introduced to make the fix is even MORE unacceptable. When you have to mine every Bis roid in an entire region to get eneough ore to build 1 BattleShip, there is a problem that needs addressed immediately.

Yea - frankly, I think I will just suspend my account until this is fixed if no more is said on it soon by the devs.
Right now mining is a mess and proposing they can't be bothered ixing it until deep core mining EVENTUALLY makes it out the door it TOTALLY unnaceptable.

Ok people, if you would stop being greedy, and mine the lesser ores, you might see a difference.
But, I guess everybody wants that 'mother lode' in their holds, and don't care the the ALLOWED ore amount is being taken up by the lesser ores.
It's a pitty that a non-dev like me has found out about this, and yet you blokes don't listen, but continue to cry.
Mine everything people, not just the 'GOOD STUFF'. It WILL help in the mean time. It ain't over till the fat lady falls on ya!
