Edited by: Kaleeb on 12/04/2006 15:27:52 So recently I left my old corp GUC and moved back home to the Lonetrek area and after a few weeks back there i`m ashamed of the pirates inhabitating the area that was once our stomping grounds.
I`ve travelled around a few regions Genesis, Molden Heath, Lonetrek, Citadel, Aridia etc etc and all I can say is where have the good pirates gone?
(Angel Deep, ATUF and HUFF not included in this)
For example I just asked a few pirates for a fight since we were camping them in the station. There were 5-6 of them in system (not afk) with at least 3 battleships, cerb and I were each in bs's (no EW). So I challenged them to fight at a planet and all I got was i`ll 1vs1 u to hull
I guess what i`m trying to say is -10 used to mean something now it seems most people just either stab up or snipe
The new generation of pirates need to step up and fill the old pirates boots

Edited by: Berak FalCheran on 12/04/2006 15:51:50 There's still good ones left... Not egotistical enough to suggest that I'm one of them, but I point to my corp mates proudly.
Edit: and yeah, last time I saw low-sec Genesis/Aridia it made me sad. It's more empty then full of bad-pirates... but still fills my heart with sadness. And to see people mining in Gonditsa :( :(
In short: Cry me a river, build a bridge, and get over it.

Its not easy being green. I can't help being new, honest.
If someone old, leet and -10.0 were to challenge me to a duel i'd start making excuses too. ^^

Tbh i agree, i found that also only gank and when jumped by a ship of the same type fitted for pvp as they are, they run with stabs(OMG), pretty pathetic really, i know that being a pirate is abou making profit and losing a ship isnt, but they have a chance of killing your ship and making profit of your loot. Although kaleeb im guessing your talking about system lords, who really do suck... ________________________________

There are still a few good pirates out there.
S******dly and Veto would be the ones that stand out.
The "omgletsgankatthegatewith10+BS"-pirates aren't that impressive.

How about those "pirates" we ran into the other day daily?
Was like 20 of them at a gate, like 11-12 bs and a buncha cruisers, i watched them all gank some poor guy in a BS, then we jump in with 10 people and they all ran to a safespot and said "we are outlaws we wont fight at gates."
What happened next is in the new petition inc vid due out later today!
Shameless self promotion 4tw.

When I go out hunting other pirates (as I frequently do) I usually end up either being ganked or them running with stabs. Unless they have a 100% chance of winning, or have stabs, they will never engage. Even 2v1.
But I guess that's what piracy is thesedays: Killing others and getting away. It sucks.

Ehhh. What a load or rubbish. Im a pirate and I DONT USE STABS.
However what you describe about not fighting unless a 100% chance of victory applies for EVERY GOD DAMN SINGLE ALLIANCE out there.
Im sure SNUGUDY use that tactics as well.

what ariness said is actually true and if you read again he/she said "usually" which is the key word so dont hop onto the defensive bandwaggon staright away
but i agree with everythnig said about the "new generation pirates" and to proove the point veto. even has its no stab corp policy in place... seeing so many 'pirates' warping off unable to finish the fights they start makes me sad.
as to Kaleeb i think you'll find us in bleak lands/ heimatar alot though we do enjoy our trips to amamake even if mangold does try to touch us --------------------

euhm what i dislike the most bout player rats is the fact that nowadays they r cowards for 99%
i personally do some very noob pirating in lowsec systems. meaning i check scanner, see food and engage and try ransomming.
2days ago i was engaging a celestis in a rupture and rasomin he stalled me 30 sec and then i blew him up and there it comes a -6.7 player in a thorax and i go like omfg this is gonna turn out bad....he engages me (my shields r gone from celestis fight) and we go fairly even. at one pt i warp out (no stabs tq i just got out of range) so he has won the fight you could say....
lateron i look for him to engage knowing i could 60% take him....and he flies around in a condor saying losing a rax is to expensive... eventho he "won" the last engagement....

Liez, we are not forum warriors we are forum pirates, here to steal your threads!
I will go on topic and say...there are a fair few pirates out there who want to fight a good fight, but the job is finding them.
A nice -10 list with an easier way to find them other than an agent grind would be good.
Lately Im finding it hard to get past the undocking stage, its finally dawned on me (taken a while) that piracey is awful and just aint what it used to be.

what I was essentialy saying was that I find it extremely lame if a socalled player pirate with an advantage even doesn't dare to fight other player rats. they they only pick on noobs or miners or snipe at gates -_-

Edited by: Tousaka Langley on 12/04/2006 22:43:35 Pirates? Cowards? No, why, I never heard of such a thing!
Few Pirates become Pirates to PvP fairly against equal skills. Hell, I could never be a rat. Something about ganking a month old character seems wrong.
Though I do wish CCP would change back warp scramblers to the way they were :(
