Buadyen and Notius are my pilots. I will take care of this. Look for another payout for your ship and equipment from them. In the future, don't duel in one of our home systems, especially since Local is very buggy. I was in system, and missed almost the entire converstation up until a couple lines before I posted this:

I had to log to get local to start working again. Everyone knows Huzzah is honorable, and will happily do 1 vs. 1, but it needs to be coordinated better than this was. Some guy logs on in the middle of the battle and undocks, and you get incidents like this.
Once again, I apologize and will handle my pilot as well as reimburse you again for your loss.

I'm having trouble reconciling these two statements. Were you being camped at a station or were you roaming and unable to find someone to engage? And looking at your killboard there's another FIX that died at the same time in the same system. Was that person involved in the "1 on 1"? You may have quoted local, but there's really not a good description of what happened or the background details.

Yeah every alliance has asshats but that doesn't mean we all are or that a single person is ever the asshat. It also does not mean the corp the person is in are all of a similar nature. You probably have asshats and troublemakers in FIX but in no way would that make all of FIX asshats.

1v1s are one of the things i feel most strongly about in this game, and it saddens me every time i see them broken for a cheap kill. My new-found respect for huzzah has been greatly lessened from hearing about this incident.

On the other hand, much kudos to Hans for his quick and honerable reaction to this. I hope the incident was an isolated one and will not be repeated. There are few things worse than going back on your word in an online environment where it is often all you have.

Lets say I was in Huzzah. I could have logged on at 14:35, seen some **** in local about planet 1 and decided to go there. I logged on after the duel is "agreed" to. I see a hostile at the planet engaging an alliance mate, so i kill him. Not saying this is what happened here, but it just shows why its so retarded to ask/accept 1v1s in a full local, and 1v1ing at a place anyone can warp to.

Tbh it shouldn't have mattered that the duel occured outside the station, even with all and sundry watching. However the possibility of someone entering the system after the fight was arranged and warping to station only to see and fire on a player flashing red cannot be discounted. Im not saying that thats what happened rather that a planet would disallow that possibility.
