some gallente ships also have anatomical latin names. like thorax (no, it's not latin for pen is). i'd like Cerebrum or the like :D

Uhm the Nidhoggur is already a Minmatar Carrier. Also, it's the Minmatar using Norse names, not Gallente.
There's already an "Angel Viper", which is a pretty deadly elite frig. Actually, I'd like to see more Angel snakes: Boa, Asp... can't imagine why.
God did I love shooting up Vipers, Asps, Boas. Vipers are still good fun to shoot up.
Roc and Thunderbird are spot on, and Annihilation, sure why not, although "Imperator" gave me a chuckle for several reasons.
Maelstrom ain't bad.

Ammar: Utopia ( sounds good ... it just does !! It means "heaven on earth", a perfect world, no good or evil, just happines ( if I remember correctly ) )

Gallante BS l3: Astarte (another name for Venus, incidentally Astarte, Ishtar and Venus are the same things)
Amarr BS l3: Vindicator (keeping with the religious theme)
Caldari BS l3: Lynx (Best name i think, keeping with the cat theme, ferox caracal ect.)
Matari BS l3: Hurricane (good name)
Just some clarifications, Minmatar have nothing to do with Norse, Celt, Viking or general Euro Mythology. As the fiction describes they are from an African descendancy henceforce the nature themes ect.

Hmm, the Mordus legion name a lot of their ships after cats of prey, which is why I always sort of assumed there's so few player ships called after cats (the Jaguar and Cheetah).
But Lynx is indeed still free. Objection however on following any Caldari cat theme: Caracals are desert foxes (trivia of the day: Rommel had a tame one), and Ferox, as far as I can tell, means "wild" in latin and while there's a few scientific species names containing "ferox" they're plants and ants.

Agreed. And so did people trying to find Tech 2 Battleship names in May 2005.
Actually maybe it's a good idea not to go to extremes and leave some space for Tech 2. I may have to withdraw my earlier views on Purgatory and Dragon to reserve that for Tech 2 battleships, along with Hurricaine.

We still like to name ships Norse all the same, ref. Muninn, Huginn, Nidhoggur, Ragnarok, Naglfar.
But I agree on sticking with furious winds for battleships.
Funny, EvE (Environment vs. Environment, anyone?) now has so many different ships that it seems to be quite a profession to be able to tell them all apart, quickly. Could be a handy fleet commander skill.
What do you call primary out of a Firetail, Brutix, Absolution, Raptor, Hel, Heretic, Bhaalgorn, Merlin, Rook, Claymore, Velator, Wreathe, Firetail, Comet, and Armageddon?

Maelstrom for a Minnie ship is a good name, probably better for a BC. "Vortex" is an excellent name for a Minnie BS though.
The Caldari ship could be named a "Vulture".
