I highly suspect Gallente will be Aegis (due to the drive-circle), the Caldari Roc (duh), and the Minmatar Tornado.
Problem with Roc is that we already have a Rook. To close for comfort IMHO. Will creat a lot of problem on TS that's for sure.

Ammar: Annihilation (Destruction theme, starts with A) or Holocaust
Caldari: Dragon (Mystical flying animal)
Gallente: Gladius (Latin for sword, like Thorax is latin for armor)
Minmatar: Mejingord (Thor's belt, it Norse Mythology it doubles Thors strength and gives Thor the strength to lift Mjolnir; Thors Hammer)

I just hope that the caldari one won't be the albatross. Really, jsut about anything else reasonable is fine, but just not albatross.

I do like Hyperion for Gallente, despite being overused in sci-fi as a whole, sort of works with the Gal ships

Hell, it works for Gallente precisely because it's so over-used in SF. It's exactly their type of cliche :P I mean, it's not as if "Dominix" and "Megathron" aren't kinda cheesy already...

In favor of those who say the Abbadon for Amarr, if you download the Trinity engine upgrade pictures, there is some comparison of the tier 3 amarr BS in it. And guess what? they're in a folder called "Abbadon".
I Guess it's not final, but its a good name, so why change it :-)

Admittedly, the Tier 3 Gallente does look like the Hyperion from B5 to some degree.

Amarr: Abaddon is pretty much already chosen considering the e3 pics, name fits in nicely.
Gallente: Yeah Hyperion gets my vote, if not soley based on my love of Keats.
Caldari: Chuck Norris would be awesome, round house kicks from 200km.
Minmatar: I still think Maelstrom suits it perfectly.

Designwise the Caldari BS looks pretty cool, so "Can of Whoop Ass" might fit, but..
..since it's Caldari I think "Budgie" would fit better

Abaddon, Hyperion and Maelstrom are all my choices.
As for the caldari, I don't really like Roc; Albatross is better but not amazing. I do like the idea of the Dragon. Completely new one though: Bateleur. I quite like it, and it fits with the eagle.

Amarr : Abadon (think it's chosen allready, and hell, even before the ship is in game, I'm used to it now  )
Galente: Hyperion sounds awesome, easy to jiggle with to describe set-ups (Snyperion, Noserion, etc.)
Caldari : Chicken-Hawk
Minmatar : Broadsword or Hurricane
