someone made me think about this earlier =)
well, i think that unless anyone found a Caldari Navy Raven, ive got a good chance at this: i found a comet drifting in orbit of an (rp) important planet =)
so, what ships have you found drifting and subsequently "appropriated"? ;)

I found a can with a Cruor BPC in a belt in .2 system. Someone obviously didnt bother to check the cans after killing NPCs.

A corpmate of mine found this about a year ago when I was in TEKNO, abandoned below the station in Emrayr.

a cruiser. didn't have the skills to fly it though.. so had to destroy it.
just followed a guy who kept changing from an indy to a cruiser to a planet, cheked the different moons and eventually found his cruiser.
the reson i wanted to kill it was because this guy was stealing my ore. and whenever i tried to fire back he went and got his cruiser and well, didn't stand a chance against that. but i guess i cost him a few mill, atleast it cost him more than he stole from me

I also find giant secure cans in space alot using old school safespot busting methods, sometimes its just ammo dumps, other times it's cans filled with faction loot.

Well the Crow was just after scan probes.
Mos of the rest I scanned down were in deep 0.0 in highly negative systems. Probly make the ship's cost back in NPCing in a few hours so it seems a deacent risk. (Well, not to me, but...)

A lonely scorpion with t2 fitting on a mid-safe between two stellar objects.
( Got by using the system scanner and repeatedly bookmarking mid-warp at the right places, since I just noticed it on a sight-seeing tour with my stiletto. )
My corp mate found 5 covetors on safe a few days ago. Was also nice.

well iddient find this but my old corp mate did. Some noob corp left a dread parked at a ss in 0.0 my corp mate got a covertops and found the ss told a alliance member who can fly it and well alliance tookt he dread :) bets i ever found was a navy caracal some one just left by a stargate it was damaged to hull but hell i still put it to some good use

i found a crow with a domination disruper, caldari navy BCS and about 5 faction warp scramblers in the hold at the sun in V-IH one time
another time i was in rens in a pod cos i was relieved of my ship, i warped to a random planet and saw a frig (ibis) jumped into it and in the cargo founf a cyclone and ferox BPO and loads of prophecy runs still have the cyclone BP in rens if anyone wants to buy it

ah well, day i found the comet, i did my first 3/10 complex. first ship i killed dropped a vigilant BPC. built that, took it out, found a drifting cann by station, and extracted a succubus BPC xD
something related to a friend of mine: he was, tbh, flat broke. hes a PvPer and had been flying a thorax or some ****e for ages, so i made him a megathron, and just told him to pay me back whenever.
about 30 mins later he convos me, and says "I JUST GOT A VINDICATOR BPC!"
lucky bugger killed like 3 rats and then got the BPC...he then went on to sell it or whatever, and became teh rich. well, for the few minutes before he bought some other obscenely expensive BS =P

My best "acquisition" so far was an unmanned Armageddon after busting the safespot it was on. This was long before scan probes, did it the hard way. That Arma served me well until it was pwnd by Sanshas a couple months later.

I found 2 Hulk T2 mining barges a couple weeks ago
Some other corp had just popped a hauler and they dropped out so my alt quickly jumped into them and docked. Returned one just cos I'm a nice guy hehe.

Hmmm, best ship or greatest value?
Best ship to use sofar is a fully fitted Raven, some other BS a few cruisers, don't bother with frigates.
Best find however was a Mammoth with 4x27% expanders and a crapload of zyd and mega loaded.
Any ship I find I can't fly I let a mate know, he does the pick up and then we split the profit, same works the other way around.
Ow and they aren't really abandoned, just left in place for me to retrieve them.
So if ya find a ship floating please contact me if I am online and I will drop by to pick it up.
Better to try and fail, then to fail due to not trying |

I found an abandoned Omen sitting 1000000 km from a gate in empire space... I can't fly it though, but it is STILL there sitting for a month.
The Omen is in the system Renyn, close to the Du Annes gate. **** out some 3au scan probes it's all yours.

well, a while ago there was a Celestis on Ourselart, i couldnt fly gallente cruisers but whatever. I asked someone in local if they wanted to buy the ship and they did. Easy money and i got 6mil:)

Haha, I had something like that when I tackled an industrial. The pilot ejected and ran, so my mate, who could fly it, brought it to a safe spot. It was full of arkanor, but no station, where we could dock.
So finally we had to blow it up on safe, because we didn't want to leave an interceptor behind.

Found an Apoc in a safe spot once. Took me about an hour to find it (my first safe spot bust) and it was popped on my way out of 0.0 with it  .

Whew, I can tell I'm just getting started as a scavenger. Nice finds. I'm still in safe space, but I've found a rifter, Slasher, and a Merlin near stations, and many shuttles and newb ships I've "cleaned up"... even made a small profit off the shuttles and put the newb ships to use gathering others. all the useful frigates were tabula rosa, no mods... my only thought is that when your account lags too long, your stuff gets ejected... or perhaps some folks drop this to be funny, I don't know. Anyway, nice finds all, keep your eyes peeled for more

Apoc down in Stain fitted with 2 True Sansha Large Armor reps and 3 True Sansha active hardners. Highs were all Miner 2's...it was a damn shame.
Selling all of that made pirate life easy for a longtime.
